It's almost Christmas time, and Here in the "The Underworld" We have another episode to grace your ears right before Santa's thick ass squeezes down that chimney hole.
Bloody in your movie title should indicate gore on top of gore. We must admit, the gore was pleasurable and fulfilling. While we did hope for more "blood" and less story, weren't displeased with the kills given!
Some of the reviews accurately described this as a Santa Terminator movie. The only lore we would have enjoyed is how the Terminator Santa became Evil and alive? Was this the work of an evil Toymaker/inventor? Is the real Santa making a Terminator version of himself to delve out his new version of coal this year? Or just the simplicity of a robot Santa malfunctioning?
This movie wasn't marketed as a Hollywood blockbuster. But, the acting, camera shots, scenery, music, and overall vibe this movie exudes shows in almost every scene. Disregard the painful debates of music taste between Tori and Robbie. Or Tori's disdain for A Christmas Movie. Yes, you read that right, she hates feelin' warm and fuzzy during the holidays.
Kill the Chill Radio proudly recommends this for a watch, not just for the holidays, but at any time. Also in any capacity. I taped candy canes to my nipples while watching, it made for a more festive watch!

The Underworld Presents a new watch-along series(Audio for now) Kill The Chill Radio/Theatre. Austin and I have been talking about this for quite some time. Why not start with the second best holiday season of the year, Christmas?! We both decided blind reactions would be best for now, as it's an easy way to get us comfortable talking during a movie and still enjoyably experiencing the movie!
It's been some time since we've had quite a few Christmas horror films come out within a few years of each other, or a larger selection of films at that in Christmas horror. Justin Long and the marketing for this particular movie ultimately sold us both. The story and acting were a bit lackluster in our eyes, but still enjoyed some of the goofy moments, and kills witnessed. Justin Long steals the movie, alongside his dopey brother Buck with slapstick delivery and menacing energies.

Now, when it comes to Art the Clown, this guy makes Pennywise look like a cuddly chew toy, my parents poodle gnaws on. Seriously, he's got that silent, deadly vibe that'll haunt your nightmares for weeks. Kudos to the makeup and costume team, who've turned Art into the stuff of childhood fears and midnight terrors.
And let's not forget the kills, my friends, because Terrifier 2 went above my standards in a few kills. We're talking some that'll make you squirm in your seat, but at the same time make you chuckle, well maybe that's just me. Art's like the MacGyver of murder, always finding a way to turn everyday objects into instruments of mayhem. You've got to appreciate his resourcefulness, even if it's the kind that gives you the creeps.
Now, about the story... Well, it's a bit of a wild ride. But you know what? Sometimes a rollercoaster of chaos is just what the coroner DID NOT ORDER, especially when you've got Art the Clown causing chaos left and right. There's a lot of "But, why?" You'll be saying a few times throughout the film. It's likely they're doing this for obvious reasons, another sequel! Which, I don't see anyone having a problem with this, except my mother possibly.

It involves a certain body part that's, well, creatively "unequipped" if you will. Not many series can boast having four movies in total in their continuity, let alone two. Personally, I believe a quadriology, or a four-part series, is often the ideal number to fully explore the story of a concept, regardless of the genre.
Jason has undoubtedly become a cornerstone for slasher films, and while he wasn't the first, he has certainly made his mark, with his teleporting, zombie-like presence. In our future episodes, we won't overlook the myriad of other sequels to come, but for now, we're bidding farewell to the original story being told. Fortunately, there are a few standalone movies to navigate through before we dive back into action with new and compelling protagonists facing even deadlier antagonists.
The choice to bring in Corey Feldman, an '80s child star, to seal the "Final Chapter" seemed obvious, but I can't help feeling conflicted about it. It's great to see him in yet another successful horror movie, but it also feels like a forced entry. If the plan wasn't to explore Tommy Jarvis as the new face of Friday the 13th, then why opt for a higher-level talent for the role? Throughout the film, Feldman's character didn't have much significance until the very end fight scene, and even then, the actions taken felt rather odd and puzzling.
I must admit, I'm quite disappointed with the choices made in "The Final Chapter," and more than anything, I'm left feeling perplexed. The few teases of Feldman in future movies as a "continuation" appear to be a cop-out instead of taking a bold leap into uncharted territory within the Friday the 13th Universe. Friday the 13th Part III - An Underworld Review
Tonight's episode features a different tone to the series. Realistically, the series has a couple roller coaster rides of tones, it's primarily lighter when it comes to the scare factor. Trying to wow, and make the audience cringe at the sight of blood and gore. Each movie feels like it's trying to outdo the previous, most times succeeding. You'll get to hear Austin and I's viewpoint on the new set of characters, and how they stack up to the rest of the series. We've never felt like experts on horror, but we do pride ourselves in thinking of different routes the movies could have taken.
I've become accustomed to the cheesiness factor when I see anything 80's, with a few exceptions, and I do mean just a few. The 80's was so overpopulated with movies, The industry felt the more, the better. Hell, a lot more home movies were coming around, People using their hard earned money to capture their sometimes creepier ideas than you see in Hollywood. I could see how the aesthetic of woods horror is pretty similar to open ocean horror. Exploring the unknown, mostly. You'd think by now, the local police would have shut that campsite down, demolished anything in that merciless lake spot.
It's never too late for a sequel to something that spews out the green. The work ethic back then was insane, I still can't get over the fact of making these films nearly back to back with every entry. Nowadays, we have to wait years to get a sight of sequel. I'm a practical effects lover myself, it really shows the true creativity on all fronts of the crew. They have to modify and think a lot harder than someone clickity clackin away on a computer for effects. But hey, I get it, "Looks cooler". Jason is feeling like a friend to me by now, He's dispatching all the annoying teenagers in his land. Just merely chillin, trying to get by. Some of his kills felt so effortless, that he's just as annoyed as I am. The way he walks, the way his body talks murdering them. His actions are ooze with so much hilarity, that the giggle-fest comes in effect, And it "kills" me when he kills them. Sorry, the corny nature is contagious.

Friday the 13th: Part Two - An Underworld Review
Tonight's episode is filled with reminiscence and nostalgia for both Austin, and I. We have a lot of goofy stories to discuss in the upcoming episodes. As far as this one goes, we discuss the time I "Saved" him from hypothermia, and brought us closer together. Horror movies for the both of us has been a perfect escape from the daunting reality of mortality. Something about watching this genre, that's filled with death more times than not, has somehow made us not as scared about the end.
The countless times we've shot "milk" out of our noses from laughing so hard watching horrible horror movies, is more than I can count. Something about the cheesy nature of the way someone bites the dust, makes the movie all more pleasing for us. I think the Friday the 13th Series is something beautiful. It's primarily the same concept as the original (aside to Mother Vorhees being the culprit.) Yet each one feels like a standalone, if you take away the annoying flashbacks. Ok, maybe they aren't different at all, but the point is, well I don't know what the point is.
They're all easy to consume, aside to one movie, we won't mention until it's time. For most of us watching or listening, We all have spooky camping stories. Something that really struck our cerebral cortex's with imaginary Chronicles about the deep dark woods of whereverville, USA. Another thing our brains do, is conjure up menacing ways that we could be killed if we aren't vigilant enough(maybe that's just me).

slasher series of all time. The simplistic nature of a deranged mamas boy turned supernatural Zombie-ghost-thing
terrorizing everyone who enters Crystal Lake. Later on, he leaves the nest to test his hacking skills in the city,
and even in space! We've heard everything we need to know about this series. It's been covered on numerous
occasions, and I get why. There's something charming about it, The camp setting, the locals near the lake, and the
abundance of weapons he uses to dispatch his victims. Of course, we don't get that until the next films, but overall
I was surprised by the first film. My rewatch created a different feeling in me. Watching on a modern tv compared
to my old CRT tv created a sense of campiness that at first annoyed me, but then I fell in love with it. I went back
and watched it on my Box tv for old times' sake, and realized that the tinnitus-filled machine created an eerie atmosphere
that can't be recreated.
At first, Austin and I were apprehensive about covering this film while recording out at his property with a fire going,
but that just made this whole series feel that much better. The kills felt more personal in this film than any other
in the series, and that makes this one of the most unsettling of the series as well. We were pretty crucial in the
character's decisions, Too many moments in the film that made us upset. We voice that heavily in the Awards for
certain characters we disliked. Some unexpected character is also chosen as Austin's favorite which is a little
controversial you'll see.

Storytime - Better Watch out, Better not cry
Traditions are the key for most people when it comes to feeling that “Joy” during the Christmas holidays, along with others. I’ve grown very fond of hearing peoples traditions that come along with their Christmas’s, some I’ve tried to incorporate in my own that sounded enticing.
Tonight we follow a spooky tale of decorations gone wrong, and how even inanimate objects can can feel left out if treated poorly. I can attest to feeling uneasy around certain objects my mother has brought out over the years. But this story, it’s a different situation for feeling uneasy.

We're in the midst of Christmas. You're stress-induced migraines most likely have already started. I could sit here and say it's not a huge ordeal. But, let's think about this. Retail stores have been affected by the online craze so much that retail stores have been exclusively having their own deals online only. Shopping in person is nearly a thing of the past with every year that passes. This advancement of technology has been a positive for people on a time crunch, and those who just don't want to leave their bubble. Have you ever thought about those times coming back? Deals that are so attractive that it brings out the animal in you? The craving of getting that product for half off? Would you sacrifice time with your family, children, and even your job? Would it be surprising if something catastrophic happens, and you mindlessly continue on the hunt for AA batteries? In tonight's episode, we follow a retail store striving to be the best brand, even if that means leaving a person behind.

As we all get up for Thanksgiving day. I hope it's filled with good times, laughter, and good food. In contrast, not everyone experiences the delights of grandma screaming at them for being too early, a burden in the kitchen, etc. You can count on loved ones to hug, kiss, and enjoy their presence for the holiday future.
In this episode we see a couple searching for a bit of spice in their lives. Angela is desperately searching for something to stoke the fading fire in her. Hell Night
Applying for college can be extremely stressful. There’s always that particular school you dream about attending at since your early years. You never worry about any obstacles being put in your way as you coast through the teenage years into early adulthood. Obviously nothing can prepare you for failure, or rejection for something you’ve been passionate about for a long time. At the end, you choose your parents college they attended. Now, it may not be your first choice, but you’ll be carrying on your legacy.
After arriving you realize frats, and sororities are very much a thing, oh yea and it’s the 80s. Initiations are fun for current members, but absolutely terrible for the “Fresh meat”. “ The phrase Going too far” has a level of ambiguity back in those times. Unfortunately we still hear about some of our youth experiencing it today. This movie at least doesn’t display an abundance of heinous acts. Locking the four freshman in an old Manor overnight is the least of their worries.
I couldn’t wrap my head around the decision to make this a haunted house experience. What happened to a cemetery, an old morgue? It seemed lazy for the frat. I’d like to also point out the name, “Darth Manor” surely that’s a made-up name from the frat? I’m wondering if they couldn’t name the movie that because it would be too closely related to Star Wars, I digress. Hell Night starts the night of initiation.
Character decisions are typically annoying in 80s films. But, this film has me scratching my head to some of the dialogue, and the decisions to follow right after. I feel that some do the events that followed resemble Vincent Price’s reign in 40s-60s.
The atmosphere alone felt very on par to price movie, to me anyways. Even with Linda Blair on top of the horror scene, Exorcist star herself couldn’t make her past the painful moments.
I will admit a few scenes were done fairly well, but that doesn’t excuse the overall distaste I had for it. I’d give this movie another watch if I was maybe inebriated, primarily to make up for the Foe awful walking scenes. So much scenes even time for people just walking. Suspense was and is nearly non-existent. I’m sure I’m one of the very few who disliked this movie. I was shocked myself I wouldn’t like it as much. Yet, it made for a fun episode to record.

Black Christmas '74
Christmas brings warm feelings to most. It's a holiday nearing its year end, along with celebrating gifting loved ones presents. I love the feeling I get giving someone a thoughtful gift, something they never knew they always wanted.

Then the last one, the “Timid Timmy” they open the gift very neatly, almost like they’re planning a new gift idea with the same paper. They are usually the hardest to shop for, thanks to them always buying everything they wanted on their own. Regardless, Christmas Day helps bring out the kid side inside of you out to display, even if it’s a small glimpse.

But, nothing can ever prepare you for murder during December. All of those folk tales passed down from generations, are just that, tales. Krampus
Think of a present you never received. Now, open your eyes to yet another pair of tubes ocks. But wait there's more, You notice the tube socks are filled with something. You're intrigued, you look at your parents in confusion and wishful glee. They nod in wide grins, hoping you continue the search. Your agreement finds your hand deep inside a white tube sock, breaking the seals, and other plastics that keep them together. Once you hit the bottom, you feel something rough, jagged even. Your face turns into betrayal, because you know exactly what you just grabbed, Coal. Coal is for the naughty, It's for someone who was a bratty, and evil child to your hardworking parents. You look up to them, as they laugh manically, saying all sorts of insults, making you feel small and weak. Psych, it's just a nightmare. You gather your wits, and realize I shouldn't be rude to those that care about me. I shouldn't act like I'm entitled, I should be grateful.

The Lodge
The statement - "In the middle of no-where" can bring on so many scenarios to be had at said destination. You cover it with snow, a nice lodge and plentiful amounts of trees? You get this movie. Yes, it's stated the nearest town or convenient store is only miles away, but when it's a blizzard outside, it feels like an eternity just to reach anywhere.
This movie is quite moody, but I feel the amount decisions made by the characters are sometimes frustrating. Speaking of decisions - if you’re seeing another person after freshly divorcing your wife, wouldn’t you want your kids to know the newest woman in your life even just a small amount? Father of the year does not go to this man after deciding it’s a grand idea to let his young children stay in a secluded lodge by themselves. I understand you need something fresh after experiencing a tragic moment in your life, and the children’s. But, let’s have her over for a pizza night and movie first
The agreement of the kids going was confusing at first, because they discover something about her that’s a pretty big “Nope” in my book. I understand not really having a big say-so being a child, but wouldn’t you question more on why your parent is even thinking that’s a good idea? I would at least want another family member to attend as well. After the big reveal towards the end it makes a lot more sense.
Throughout the last ladder of the film, you start to realize how these events are coming about, and why it’s happening. You’re given a plot to follow, only to have it switch slowly into something different, at which unless you’re paying attention it could make you upset. Only for reasons of wanting something more sinister. It makes you contemplate renting a lodge in the future. I would make damn sure you bring friends you know well, or at least be a night owl so you can detect the commotions.
The acting by Jaeden Martell(IT, and Mr. Harrigans Phone) is on par with Riley Keough(It comes at night, and The Devil all the time) performance. We see some misses between the father and the kids not having that true chemistry connection. But, I feel the movie did it justice enough mainly because the father is so disconnected with real life anyways, anything he does is enough to make you scoff.

Black Friday
We live in a time ruled by technology, and because of the advancement it has made, there's no need to leave your house. I can buy 99 percent of all things online. I can hire a contractor, groceries, presents, and even a car just by pressing a virtual button. It was not even 20 years ago, that I had to go everywhere in person to purchase something. Do I miss those times? More than people would think. I'm lucky to be the last generation of physical interaction, taking time to research an item before I waste gas for a trip. I'm still upset all video stores, are extinct. With the exception of a select few mom and pop shops, and the Last blockbuster.
I haven't physically been Black Friday shopping in so long, I can't even remember the experiences that well. I do remember fighting for a lower than average branded TV. Was it worth that extra forty dollars in savings? No, the look on geriatric I stole it from was. Obviously joking, It was taken from a child. I'm stuck in between wanting the old times to come back, and currently enjoying spending all my money on useless materialistic items withing five seconds. Hopefully one day, I can open up that vintage shop everyone's been looking for.

Some of the all-time kingpins of Horror, grace us with an hour and half of goofy interactions, great gore, and a fun story. I was left wanting more, not left missing or confused about anything. I felt the budget for the movie was on par with the result. It's just a nice feeling, seeing Ash Williams(Bruce Campbell) and Spawn(Michael Jai White) Team up with Final Destination and Idle Hands Star( Devon Sawa) to fend off Evil.
If you're still the type to wait out hours before some store opens on Thanksgiving night, then you my friend are a dime a dozen, and I applaud you. I hope that spark is reignited in me sometime in the future. I hope we never cross paths again Timmy, you were 7 then then, and I'm sure you drank your milk all these years, Just keep the 100$ TV. I'll stay at home.

Pilgrim
Thanksgiving time for most people is about gathering of loved ones, sharing food, inviting other guests, and getting painfully full. It's also a time where you see certain loved ones that you aren't necessarily fond of. Nothing in this world can be substitute for toxic family members that ruin the turkey parade. Maybe like this family you're about to hear about, we should all have re-enactors swarm our home and teach us of the past times, right? Well I for one don't want any goofy looking pilgrims high stepping those latchets in my freshly vacuumed carpet.
The story teaches us to be thankful for the things we currently have in our life. Maybe the less fortunate out there are more willing to be grateful for clothes on their backs. Most of us in this world have been spoiled with technology, fast-food on every corner and Certain jobs that are far too easy for the pay we receive. I think this film paints a clear picture, Quit complaining about negligible issues. Also, read up on your history about the real first thanksgiving, it's horrific, and saddening.
The character development builds fairly quickly for Cody. We see a strong character go through so many obstacles, and emotions. Her will is definitely tested, and you're going to be surprised on the outcome. Peter Giles performance outshines everyone else. I think collectively the whole cast blended well, but he knocked it out of the park. The pure evil he displayed was both unsettling and beautiful, in an art sense.
I can't remember the last time a Thanksgiving of mine turned into a real horror movie. I've definitely wished a slasher theme song would fill my ear canals to drown out the together time, ew. Home Movie '08
Raising children is easily one of the hardest things to do in this world. You have living parasites roaming this earth, depending on you alone at first. While that sounds scary, it gets better with time, They grow up, have their own families, and continue their legacy for the foreseeable future. Do I have any experience in this? Hell no, I just watched rugrats and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air like the rest of us. I'm only sharing cliff notes.
The struggle with parenthood isn't the children themselves, it's how you handle any situation thrown at you by the children. You either discover the correct way to deal with things or the incorrect way of dealing with things. If you're debating which one you should be doing? Please, Seek help.
I can only imagine my family in the future, I find a lovely partner, We grow together, have kids, dogs, and the whole standard throw-up-in-your-mouth charade. I've also thought about having or being with someone who's possessed by an ancient demon seeking out my soul until I give in. I could fight it, hire a priest, gather some sage, hell even conjure up another demon and request a duel like it's some sort of evil battle-bot throwdown.
I couldn't imagine trying everything in my power to relieve someone I care about of said evil entity. The movies are too easy, I don't have a rocking iron chin, and My six-pack is non-existent, so I couldn't kill it with my striking dapper looks, Maybe I could flashbang it with my grotesque appearance. I'm only half joking. I would hire as many priests and grow endless pots of sage to save my family.
I wouldn't however, Disregard my partner's worries regardless of how crazy they sound. If you trust them, then anything they say should hold some weight. You also shouldn't accuse them of heinous acts because weird coincidences occur. It doesn't help either if you're a psychologist and/or a priest that can't see the pure evil right in front of your eyes.

Alien Abduction: Incident at Lake County
We've all imagined the possibility of other life forms out there. It's very pompous of those to think humans are the only ones of it's kind. The universe, and everything outside of earth is too massive to have nothing else but rocks and more space. Would I like to see "Mars attacks! happen in real life? Well, maybe if the Martians look the same. The real terror, now that's the species who lurk in the night sky. The species who only touchdown for harvesting purposes. The species that has no desire to communicate, only exterminate.
Thanksgiving day is a time of spreading love throughout your family and peers, with plentiful amounts of food, activities and interaction. Just imagine, You're sitting with your family who you've seen maybe once a year, if that. You're sitting around the table, discussing some of the things you're into nowadays. Suddenly, a lightning strike knocks the power out, and you're life will be forever changed from that moment.
You could argue that most families would just stay inside and wait out the outage. But, Picking a family who lives out in the country? Who's attitudes are all about fixin' it themselves, and never asking for help? That's the perfect candidates for harvesting meat, and probing victims. They practically tenderize their own meat by walking and running around out there. Perfect flavor for the gray ones.
With it being entirely shot from POV view, from an aspiring music video producer. The amount of bad decisions made in this film is astronomical. I'm sure the gray ones just toyed with them most of the night. But, I feel the attacks from the humans were not tactful, and more or less half-baked. And no, I wish this family would have been under the influence, because maybe they would stop and take their time to make a decision. Or at least eat their thanksgiving dinner.
You can't convince of no other life outside our solar system. Will I ever encounter any in my life time? Probably not, But I hope the aliens that do touchdown in the future have the decency to bring me back as a beautiful Oak Tree in an abandoned forest, so I can live hundreds of years without human contact.

Halloween Special 2018-2022
Back in 1960, Janet Leigh stars in one of the most groundbreaking movies of all time, and only 18 years later, her daughter matches that same level of a "killer" film. Horror movies were such a taboo back then, it's a testament that simple things are all you need to spook someone into eternal nightmares. I remember my mother telling me 1978 Halloween, had people terrified during the holiday for the next 5 years or so. A simple mechanic jumper and a William Shatner mask have become more iconic than most discoveries in history.
David Gordon Green had a vision for Laurie's swan song, and Jamie Lee fell in love with the script. She's one of the more passionate actresses I've witnessed, always speaking her mind about being a good person, and not taking shit from anyone. I think David really encompassed her true nature and made a perfect mesh between Laurie and Jamie. It's not only just a horror movie dealing with a bad guy wielding a knife but a group of women surviving trauma.
Fan service is heavy in this latest trilogy, even some that unless you're an avid fan, would miss the showcasing. Which is a nice addition. Most of these films that are being brought back from the grave are only touching the more iconic lines. There are a few obscure ones in these, and I hope you catch them.

Rob Zombie's Halloween Series '07-'09
With Halloween right around the corner, the celebration of fall is very close to horror fans and other freaks alike. Gathering decorations with family and friends brings the best joy to most of our black hearts. Halloween isn’t just a singular day of being your spookiest self. It’s a way of life for some of us out there. Inviting the ghouls, demons, and other unexplained beings into our minds creates a sense of peace. Knowing we’ve journeyed our brains through countless jump scares and haunts takes the fear of death slightly away, for me anyway.
Tonight’s episode is a combined look at Rob Zombie’s stint in Haddonfield. The hillbilly rocker stays true to his brand by bringing all the cringe involving all kinds of unsettling statements. Michael Myers is the ultimate of all when it comes to the slasher kingpin. The mysterious and quiet nature he displays in the original bleeds with terror. I can understand the new modern take on Halloween; a Seven-foot-tall raging psychopath trying to end his bloodline with brute force and intimidation. But, as John Carpenter states “He’s too big” He’s not meant to “stick out like a sore thumb”. There’s nothing more terrifying than an average man of height and weight stalking your town, Not knowing he’s filled with “PURE EVIL”.
Mikey’s a confused and “misunderstood” kid as his mom would put it. He never meant to kill all those animals; he’s only experimenting. The toxic family he grows up in gives a great insight into trauma from all sides. The abusive and perverted stepfather is due immediately for an exit after his distasteful comments about the underage daughter, and the bullying of Mikey and the rest of the family. The daughter is a product of neglect and abuse, diving into drugs and sex for distraction from her pain. The mother seeks attention and acceptance as she’s been told of her holding no value in the past. Then there’s Mikey, He’s got a combination of all sides of abuse. The things he’s seen and heard, have poisoned his innocent mind, turning him into the monster we see in these next two films.
We witness Mikey’s upbringing for a short stint. Showcasing the Genesis of Michael Myers. The sanatorium stay only lets him hold in rage for numerous years. The death of his mother fuels that fire to bring Angel back into his life. No one in his path can stop him. His pure strength alone is unmatched. His level of detail to kill, and evading danger is untouchable, even for a giant. Returning to the Myers residence is the only piece he needs to restore his power and help complete his mission.
Laurie’s journey in this movie is one of a rambunctious teen. The quiet shy mouthed Laurie we know from Jamie Lee Curtis is no more. The group of friends she hangs with is slightly bad influences, but teenagers are dumb creatures. She finds herself wrapped up in a twisted knot of death, destruction, and emptiness once Mikey arrives.
Dr. Loomis, working as a consultant, hears the word of his dear friend breaking out of the sanatorium. Tonight’s episode is a combined look at Rob Zombie’s stint in Haddonfield. The hillbilly rocker stays true to his brand by bringing all the cringe involving all kinds of unsettling statements. Michael Myers is the ultimate of all when it comes to the slasher kingpin. The mysterious and quiet nature he displays in the original bleeds with terror. I can understand the new modern take on Halloween; a Seven-foot-tall raging psychopath trying to end his bloodline with brute force and intimidation. But, as John Carpenter states “He’s too big” He’s not meant to “stick out like a sore thumb”. There’s nothing more terrifying than an average man of height and weight stalking your town, Not knowing he’s filled with “PURE EVIL”.
Mikey’s a confused and “misunderstood” kid as his mom would put it. He never meant to kill all those animals; he’s only experimenting. The toxic family he grows up in gives a great insight into trauma from all sides. The abusive and perverted stepfather is due immediately for an exit after his distasteful comments about the underage daughter, and the bullying of Mikey and the rest of the family. The daughter is a product of neglect and abuse, diving into drugs and sex for distraction from her pain. The mother seeks attention and acceptance as she’s been told of her holding no value in the past. Then there’s Mikey, He’s got a combination of all sides of abuse. The things he’s seen and heard, have poisoned his innocent mind, turning him into the monster we see in these next two films.
We witness Mikey’s upbringing for a short stint. Showcasing the Genesis of Michael Myers. The sanatorium stay only lets him hold in rage for numerous years. The death of his mother fuels that fire to bring Angel back into his life. No one in his path can stop him. His pure strength alone is unmatched. His level of detail to kill, and evading danger is untouchable, even for a giant. Returning to the Myers residence is the only piece he needs to restore his power and help complete his mission.

REC II
The unintentional prediction this movie displays about a pandemic is both amusing and saddening. High-ranking officers, arguably the best in the region, struggled with these Demonic zombie-like creatures, and I don't think sending in additional soldiers will give different results. The traditional Zombie-like creatures we’re used to seeing in apocalyptic movies are plentiful. This series gives a fresh take on the trope, adding in Catholicism with a dash of insanity. The creatures are somewhat similar of “deadites” in the Evil Dead universe. The demons are less talkative in this series, but still haunting to think about. The rogue scientist priest, Named Owen, is a perfect example of knowing how to defend himself if given a task dealing with drastic circumstances.
This all could have been avoided if Jennifer's parents scheduled a rabies shot. Now, this world is crumbling before us with more movies to go. I'm so sure(sarcasm) Cujo didn't mean to bite your face, it was only a playful nibble. Well, that playful nibble has turned you into Damian 2.0, with your mother converted to shark bait. It's always the children to either save the day or ruin it for the rest of us in Horror movies.
The singular mission is to extract blood from patient zero, create the antidote and save the world from peril, of course, as luck would have it. We are left with dimwitted officers afraid of the incorrect things. While fire out of nowhere might be startling, children of the air duct easily Trump flammable blood. We don’t know exactly who hired this priest, or in all honesty if he was hired to begin with. There were no cryptic messages to be said from the priest, as he was ready to tell all about the heinous evil that lives upon them. The only mystery is Tristana Medeiros, The original Strain.
She’s the troll-like creature in this movie, I tastefully gave her a nickname too. She wanders only through the apartment where Angela was taken in the first film. Almost ghost-like, appearing out of nowhere. The group containing swat members, a rogue priest, and the newly and freshly terrified Angela all venture deeper into the darkness of this woman’s crypt-like dwelling. They discover the darkness alone reveals her true resting place. The trickery about this dimension-like door is a nice touch in showing there’s more to this virus. The struggle between Owens and Angela's priorities leads to a soldier being killed by Angela, and the reveal that she is now the new host. Killing the Medeiros woman did not cure or halt the strain. The leech-like parasite will continue to slime its way from vessel to vessel until the world crumbles.

Luckily the woman hired on reveals something close to her brought her here, and has other plans for this disgusting dweeb directing it.

You would think by now, going inside a creepy abandoned house to find a VHS shrine with scattered tapes blanketed on the floor would scare anyone away. Yet - people are so hell-bent on the truth, that they will seek out any answer, even if that means risking their spaghetti basket being slit wide open.
Robo-Douche is the kind of guy who spends extra on electronics, instead of fixing his uninhabitable house. The hauntings he experiences felt like a good case of karma, for those that don't deserve that level of technology. The hilarity of decisions starts when cyclops gets startled by his teapot walking the plank to the hardwood floor. I should preface this by saying, I don't know to the full extent of every decision I would make in his situation, but Jesus H. tits, I wouldn't hunker down in a bathroom. During the entire segment, I'm wincing at the fact that this man is sleeping in a bathtub without a pillow. How is he not writhing in pain from the headaches?
Wannabe Bucky Lasek ditches his woman for the chance to hit some sick ollie-copter tricks(Totally accurate). After proceeding to stop his bike for an injured and helpless woman on the side of the bike trail, His woman definitely spawned that zombie demon to chomp on his veiny neck flesh. It's the right amount of payback for denying relations with your significant other, like seriously? Bike trailing over commencing in bed wrestling? The zombies seem to have a "Dawn of the dead" style of consciousness; from picking up weapons, dodging attacks, and even wielding a firearm and shooting pedestrians, getting revenge for all those rounds in Nacht der Untoten.
Charles Manson has been long gone by now, Yet we still see documenters wanting to explore the vast world of cults/communes for their next bullshit project for film class. The hints the leader gave in the restaurant were enough to make me end the interview mid-speech. Can we not ignore the little girl silently screaming for help as the crew arrives? I know it's another country, but why is that documentary so important? I can guarantee you that anyone handing me a voodoo stick/twig doll, is immediately getting a visual of my fatass running away, or the people's elbow, following with a 3 count. The inner drama between the crew gave the twist in this segment and actually made sense for the documenters random interview with the cult leader.

It's a regular day - you wake up to make sphagettios for breakfast, with a side of funyun toast. You're waiting on that big break, the call of destiny if you will. You know the distasteful and downright sexual assault show you're making won't cut it in the long run.
You get a call, A client wants you to do one simple task, break into a home, steal a specific VHS tape and leave. Surely you'd think, this is easy money, right? Instead, you find a shrine of old Box TVs positioned in some sort of pyramid symbolizing an old Egyptian demon lord. Upon further gazing, you see VHS players, tapes, and other accessories scattered around the shrine. Oh, and there's an apparent dead old man sitting on a chair behind you.
The discovery of the shrine alone would make most people feel unsettled. Then there's the geniuses like these star citizens, who just merely want to "explore" the house and leave without disturbing anyone, and anything. Of course, their idea of not being disturbing requires a certain level of intelligence that mirrors a bowl of beans.
Rox decides to watch all of these tapes on the floor, while the others search for the main prize. Horror after horror, Rox continues to watch these haunting home videos revealing proof of monsters living in our world. The tales have a somewhat perfect runtime for each one. You will notice a little theme hidden in the short films, it's a nice touch and comes together in the end.
Unfortunately, It seems watching these tapes awakens the old man to reign terror on them for entering his house and changing the channel "Hey! I was watching that in my forever nap!". I love original ideas for movies, but again, it's nearly impossible to create one. Why not continue a story, add new characters, implement different ideas and run with the legacy. Well - That's exactly what Scream 5 did, and I loved it.
In my opinion, Scream 4 was a version of Wes' reboot of a nightmare on elm street, and it translated through the screen well, I think it just wasn't the right time for it. Luckily time has passed with technology needing to be the center focus of horror movies or cinema in general. One way or another we go back to the original because it just works. Scream 5 brought everything we loved in the original and added the correct amount of current culture.
I've thought about something, it's crazy to think we'll never have another Wes original, and it's saddening. Yet, this movie has his essence sprinkled throughout. We get two filmmakers who didn't soil his legacy, they adapted their own vision, with Wes heavily in mind.
Unlike the 4th installment, we are getting a heavy look at the new characters. The legacy characters show up later in the film, At first, I was a little irritated, but I understood. People grow older, times change, and there's just no reason not to introduce new main stars. The casting in this film was nearly flawless. This is it - Wes Craven's final Scream film. There will never be another creator like him. He continued to adapt in every way possible while still leaving his charm sprinkled throughout this runtime.
Scream 4 was released in 2011, 15 years after the original. This time with new faces, new ways for the killer/killers too. The movie gave a hint of what today's horror and future horror movies set in current times would be like. Of course, Scream will always be superior when it comes to awareness by the characters.
You have Sidney, returning legacy character pushing her way through life after those 4-5 years of hell she went through back in the '90s. Weathered and stronger than ever as she returns back to her hometown for her book release. Dewey..Well Sheriff Dewey now, Keeping Woodsboro safe, for the most part. Gale taking a step back from her career to have a family and "normal" life with Dewey as a fiction writer, of course, she doesn't do well in reporting/writing bullshit news.
Woodsboro seems cursed at this point, Sidney's return clearly invites hell to reign itself upon the calm community. "Everything you touch, Sid, DIES." As her lovely ghost-mom/roman mother-brother would say. She really can't catch a break, even just returning to promote how she got "out of darkness"..barf. I'm glad she stayed a true badass and didn't let the book fame and local fame get to her head.
Jill, Sidney's cousin, becomes the new face, the "Sidney" if you will. The chemistry between the new faces brings a breath of fresh air. It's nice to see the side stories of Charlie crushing on Kirby, or Jill's ex-boyfriend Trevor being a creep, giving the audience the hint of him being the next "Billy". It all works in tandem quite well with the concurrent lore of Scream. It's one of the very reasons I rank This film Higher than the others.

t's the year 1996, you head to your local blockbuster looking for the newest horror flick to watch. While gazing upon Tom cruise on the cover in Mission impossible, A dorky, bug-eyed store clerk named Randy comes by and tells you "The horror movies are right this way."
If you've ever wondered what It would be like to have a couple of serial killers, or hell even one in your real-life world. Scream gives you a very real glimpse of what it could be like. Think about people you interact with. Now, think about how many of them do you think could be a serial killer. Could it be the Horror nut who worked at the video store? What about, the seemingly kind man who works at a grocery store? It could be anyone. Different motives. Different people.
Luckily - with technology today, it's much more difficult for a suited-up Ghostface imitating an Edvard Munch painting, to go out hunting down Dumbass teenagers. The level of chemistry this movie and franchise brings, really helps the passion we see from each actor bring to the table. I find it hard to believe that this series is even close to being finished. Like I said, anyone can suit up in Ghostface with a myriad of motives.
Sidney is already a broken badass of a character. She loses her mom in a horrific fashion. Yet, when a person calls to terrorize her, she talks back, calls his bluff, kicks their asses, and wins in the end. She's one of those characters that could make a horrendous mistake and audiences and fans would still rally behind her. The other Co-stars give us many more reasons to love this film. There's no sense of throw-away characters, even Kenny the cameraman is memorable with those dreaded cheese curls and that backwards cap. Ghostface is more frightening to me, not physically that is, but definitely mentally. I mean yes, it could anyone and everyone. But, this voice-changing, pun-giving, knife-wielder can run.. and very fast I might add.

It's the new millennium, Y2K didn't kill you, or maybe it did.. and this is all a twilight zone episode.
This is the only part of the Scream trilogy not to be written by Kevin Williamson. Ehren Kruger (writer of the film Arlington Road, who would later go on to write the screenplays for The Ring, The Ring Two, The Skeleton Key, and Rings) was given the task of writing the script based on notes Williamson himself had sketched out.
Scream 3 delivers an end to the original trilogy with a big reveal. It was only speculation up to this point that Sidney had siblings or other family members. Which, still begs the question, will Scream 6 invite more of her long-lost family members?
Wes Craven continued to make this series a true Meta in its class. The awareness this movie has is only behind movies that incorporate 4th wall inserts and other additions.
The making of Stab 3 gives a great excuse to invite a new batch of characters that don't need a lot of substance. Gale's Actor portrays the perfect yin to her yang. An almost picture-perfect sister annoying sister interaction.

Scream 2 '97
As you enter the theatre to watch a movie about a famous small-town serial killer, You find yourself wondering - "Should I, in fact, get popcorn before I enter the fucking movie?". I'm in so much pain with people's decisions. I'm thinking "Wes wanted these types of people to be sliced and diced." Hypothetically speaking, Killing Jada's character after she gets the popcorn during his copycat film is revenge for the jiffy pop massacre in the first film.
In this episode, I really try to keep it together when it comes to his real feelings on this first sequel. I appreciate all of Craven's work, I'm just not a huge fan of the lighter side to this iconic slasher franchise. Bringing all the legacy characters back is a great breath of fresh air. But, I find myself noticing the characters are even on the lighter side. I'm sure the main focus of this film was to show the audiences that, even in broad daylight, no one is safe. Or, the pedestrians in this world are unbelievably non-observant!
Introducing new characters in a whodunit slasher series is always easy to figure out, or at least eliminate the margin to very possible suspects. Scream 2 does this at least by introducing other side characters that don't interact fully with the main group. I did enjoy parts of this film with the likes of Debbie salt, Mickey, and even the cringe lord himself Derek, Yes I'm referring to myself and the character. If there's one thing that will never be dull is the side characters in Craven's films.
The character decisions in this film are that of a low-budget horror film. I love yelling obscenities at the tv as much as the next person, But I'd really like to see characters' critical thinking come into play more than once. Luckily, the great Sidney Prescott comes in clutch and creates a hailstorm to reign down on the revealed Mickey and Debbie salt or Ms. Loomis as Ghostface.
Scream 2 tries to brighten up the blood spewed all over the concrete in this painfully bright sequel. It misses its mark in my eyes with the darkness that the original brought. Of course, the vast majority of sequels never outweigh the original.

Halloween VII H20: 20 years later
Here we are, 20 years later. Jamie Lee Curtis comes back to reprise her role as Laurie, this time she wants to end the story right..Or will written clauses prevent her from having the options end it her way? Nothing is more of a slap in the face than conjuring up an end game story only to be told "Michael is not allowed to die". Luckily, She was able to come up with an agreement to have something sufficient for an original character.
With being one of the first, if not THE first to bring back a series following the original story 20 years later, The atmosphere and the way Laurie approaches life are very different and very real. This broken woman struggles with PTSD, leading to substance and alcohol abuse, and inadequate personal relationships. Kevin Williamson signs on as a head writer. After his success with Scream(1996) He puts the same spices into this franchise, The comedy isn't quite there, I would assume Jamie Lee Curtis had a lot to do with this. She's always looked at this series in a deeper mindset.
This film was very promising with up-and-coming teen stars, Scream writer, and the Main star returning. Character development felt more in-depth with Ronny the security guard than that of Jamie's son. So many characters in here felt like paid extras who go the opportunity to speak. It was nice to see Jamie kick some major ass in this film, The first two films were her surviving, this film she's the one hunting.

Halloween VI: The Curse Of Michael Myers
Most fans enjoyed this film in its entirety, rightfully so. The casting level is at a higher tier, the setting feels more modern, and it gives off a fun vibe, at first. While the cast was great, the story felt a bit over the top. Michael at his core is a walking asthma demon who needs to kill his sister. Now, it's resided to him killing anyone who's remotely related. It's a surprise he doesn't go graverobbing to assure himself the dead ancestors are indeed dead. Jamie's departure in the beginning scene is yet another interesting plot choice.
The casting choice to make her look 16 is a miss. Are these actresses getting bored with the story so much that they asked to be killed off? Or was this the original plan? I'm hoping for the first. This mid-season trilogy is more wishy-washy than my 5th-grade girlfriend who saw ol' jimmy shoot a 3 pointer and left my ass for him. The twists and gotchas were a little too expected when they didn't show anyone else for us to decide on. Cowboy man dude, obviously a tall older man who's intelligent and weird, Dr. Terrance. A cultist who's spying on the prey for their cult, obviously the old lady who sits in silence for all eternity and listens, Mrs. Blankenship. The list goes on.
Luckily we get one last performance from the great Donald Pleasance before he departed from this world. The heart attack calms him down, but the crazy remains. Marianne Hagan stars as the new final girl in this slasher series with an overall great performance. This begs the question; Can we replace Laurie Strode? The Jamie Lee Curtis? The answer is an easy no if you drive the same storyline. This could have been a side story exploring a different kind of Michael Myers. Instead, because of money they mentioned and cameoed her throughout the entire series, the exception to Halloween III and not so much in this one.
The best thing about this film was every scene with Paul Rudd's character, Tommy Doyle. It was great to give him a personality of him likely being in Kahoot's with the cult. He really gave that creep factor the movie needed. The knowledge he possesses about Michael and the Celtic curse showed true benefit for the group. It was like a budget Mystery gang with no dog, thank God.

Halloween V: The Revenge Of Michael Myers
The night reeks of vengeance, it reaks of an overabundance of sequels, it reaks of...HEAVY BREATHING. The lovely return by the asthma demon, with new faces, new obstacles, and more of Loomis' burnt cheek. The titles alone are getting hinting at "What the hell do we put here now?". This series could have continued a new story arch, especially with the promising characters. Unfortunately, the direction of this film made Drek confused, upset, and even more confused.
It brings Drek joy to see Jamie(Danielle Harris) return..with no voice? He gets inserting a level of the curse into Jamie at the end of the 4th film - Yet making her a mute was one of the silliest things he's seen. On top of the lack of lines from Jamie, Rachel(Ellie Carruthers) Dies in the first 20 minutes? She was the most promising character of this series, aside from Jamie.
Let's talk about the choices made for POV Perry(Michael Myers). They gave him a personality throughout the film. Taunting Tina throughout their Joyous car ride was hilariously unneeded. Yes, the cowboy man dude may have been somewhat controlling his life force, But that doesn't take away the fact, He's a masked Terminator. Why stop at a gas station, when you have a perfectly operational thumb to jab right into her forehead. Loomis brought the level of crazy that leads to a heart attack. They made this man terrorize a child, break the law, and purchase lumber and a net from Home Depot. The amount of personality in this film was a bit overwhelming, and it showed. I appreciate the reach it went for, but I think this would have been better as a standalone, Just like Halloween 4 and 6.

Tonight's journey is unlike any other....not really -The Heavy breathing asthma demon is back! This time to delete the family bloodline...literally all of it, even the adoptive side. Drek is a little perturbed by the angle of the writers at this point, It feels as if they wanted so desperately to finish the Druid storyline. While He appreciates the lovely Danielle Harris' performance, it doesn't take away the question...Who the hell is Laurie's baby daddy? Surely it's not the creepy-ass EMT guy, Jimmy.
Drek notices the Father to these children is never mentioned, and always hoped it was part of the plot, but sadly it's just inserted past time stories about his absence.
