Fear, Fear of Misunderstanding, and Fear of Retaliation
I  believe people want (need) to feel understood, to feel significant, and supported.  This creates a sense of purpose and "rightness" in being here, alive at this time, as useful and necessary.  We are all about function at ANMC and having a sense of function as a person I believe is a basic core need of every individual.  This makes them feel valued and supported.  Misunderstandings and differing opinions are an opportunity for growth, but, where in the past we have used punishment for an error without the opportunity for correction, differing opinions gradually become a fear of retaliation and then a sense of victimization.  Here's how this all affects our physiology and well being and how we can start doing something about it.  ANMC is a lifestyle education center, helping individuals create habits and strategies conducive to health.  anmcholistichealth.com

Thinking Beyond the Symptom of the Moment
In order to create new neural pathways that give our cells new programming and the opportunity to create new processes that can include creating a new health expression, we need to train the mind out of the habit of fear, stress and worry.  One of the strategies we use for this is the mindful strategy of living in the positive moment.  This moment is where all things are created.  It only happens in the now.  If we stay focused on the symptoms as if we have to figure it out, we only serve to reinforce the old pathways and prohibit new ones.  Thinking beyond the symptom allows you to remember to image the new self and focus to that purpose, giving the body an opportunity  to down regulate stress and bring about a feeling of safety once again in the body.  To learn more about our Retrain the Allergy Brain programs, check out our website at anmcholistichealth.com

How to Help Your Mind Create New Programs For Healing: 1 Piece of the Puzzle
This episode introduces the idea of rumination....persistent cycling of thought that have no resolution and are a constant background noise to the mind.   People in chronic illness or autoimmune or "mystery" illnesses typically are in a state of chronic defense in the cells.  The limbic system which records the response to a stressor can record the response and create a hypervigilance, teaching the body to become defensive to many typical and common things;  thing that previously did not cause trouble in the body now is causative in the inflammatory cascade. Releasing Protective Behaviors That No Longer Serve

What Would Studying the CAUSE of Health Do For Autoimmune?
This episode discusses one of the main tenets of the COPP theory:  that autoimmune is an individual attack.  It is a disease of separation and rejection.  We need to look at the cellular programming and a defense response and create a new environment conducive to health.  We talk about why resolution doesn't happen with "just one thing", or a magic pill or food or medicine.  We talk about how rates are rising and treatment trends don't have the solution.  We talk about what it means to have manageability and identify a sense of depression and learned helplessness when it comes to living with a chronic illness. The New Autoimmune Speak and the Component of Self Care
Everyone knows, probably by now, MANY people who suffer from autoimmune, IBD, food allergies, sensitivities, etc.  This episode talks about my great passion Autoimmune Immunology.
