A woman's body was found inside of an abandoned refrigerator in Holt, CA on March 29th, 1995. She was known only as "The Lady In The Fridge" for 27 years before detectives finally matched the body with a name. Amanda Lynn Schumann Deza. Although they now have a name, officials are baffled about who killed her. On this important episode of DV I not only tell you who I believe is responsible for her death, but where she was when she was abducted and her reasons for being there. I give you a possible connection that goes back over two years before she had disappeared. Next, I give you my reasons.

In fleshing out a character for a story it's been said that your character should want something. Even if it's a glass of water, make them want it. Bryan Kohberger wanted something, but that something didn't want him back. It was a girl he had his eye on, someone he had never met. He slid into her DM's but it went silent. Lindsay Clancy, a medicated mom accused of killing her three kids, asked for a lawyer when she woke up in a hospital bed. Her defense entered a not guilty plea which ultimately will attempt to put the mental health system on trial for the murders. Is she guilty or was it the drugs that turned her into a "zombie?" He said she took a ride share to the airport and vanished, but the next day he was spotted buying cleaning supplies. Brian is already on parole for fraud. Could he have graduated to murder? The movie Copycat (1995) was about a psychology professor who is an expert on serial killers. A student who attends her lectures is the copycat killer. The accused Idaho killer, Bryan Kohberger, was a student under Katherine Ramsland, who is the foremost expert on serial killers. Ten days before his arrest I said that the killer came in from the E. Washington border and mentioned Pullman, and that it reminded me of the Gainesville Ripper. **Update 12/30 - A suspect has been arrested. Grad student from WSU/Pullman. This episode suggests the killer came in from the E. Wash border and Pullman is mentioned as having been a possibility. Was this person rejected as suggested?

The Gainesville Ripper traveled to Florida from Louisiana and stabbed five victims to death in 1990, most while they were asleep in their beds. The case inspired the original Scream movie. The Idaho college murders are very similar in nature. Stabbing the victims in their beds; college students who lived off campus. I've said the killer here was rejected by one of the girls, maybe at a party they had held. But was there another rejection, too? In this episode of Drowning Verdict I break down my double rejection theory. Because of this possibility... there might be a way to piece together who killed the students. Kaitlin Armstrong is accused of killing a female professional cyclist in the case of a love triangle gone wrong. The best gift would be to ID the killer of Abby and Libby because it was about that time five years ago that a man pictured on a bridge took their lives. Now cops say they got their guy. I bring up one of the sketches again and pick apart what they've been hinting at; "sleep well," they said. This time, I think they might have got it right. Suzanne Morphew didn't go for a bike ride on Mother's Day, 2020. It's likely she was in the house and arguing with her husband about an affair she was having when he killed her; then he staged the bike to make it look like she disappeared. A female couple murdered on the fringes of Moab, UT. Two people who were well-known to the small, cultured community. Callously shot while camping. Their bodies left half-naked, possibly posed. No witnesses but the birds and maybe a cell phone tower somewhere. I talk about a case with no concrete evidence but a silver bullet and casings left at the scene. A certain celebrity went on national TV recently to say that although he held a prop gun in his hand, pointed it at the victim and pulled the trigger, he is not the one responsible for firing the gun that killed a woman on the set of a movie. Now that the dust has settled on the Oxford High School shooting, the parents of the school's shooter, Ethan Crumbley, were arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter. This leads me to ask the question: Is the Oxford shooting a true crime case, one that was somehow premeditated by the parents? Next on Drowning Verdict I give you my reasons.

Lori has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder two years after her brother shot and killed her fourth husband, Charles Vallow. But did she actually murder hubby #3? No official suspect of the murders near Moab has been named. That said, it's my opinion he's killed before and could kill again. There likely wasn't any stalking or victim type in this case, but had more to do with proximity and opportunity than anything else. I talk about a long cold case that was recently solved where certain similarities match up for me, and could be helpful in moving forward with the double murder near Moab. Oddly enough, that killing occurred 17 years ago on the same date. One thing's for sure, though, the case of two girls gone forever needs better traction, kinda like the tires on a mountain bike rolling over slick boulders.

Brian Laundrie returned to Florida without his girlfriend Gabby Petito. Body cam footage shows cops in Utah intervening after they had a spat. I said before that not enough space between them had likely caused big issues. This is contrary to what Van Life is supposed to be all about. But don't take my word for it; just ask Gene and Jean, the fictitious couple from the 76 Van Life commercials. Last time we saw them, Jean locked the van and took off without him. Looks like Brian did that to Gabby in real life. I talk about the possibility of him being the "creepy man" spotted right before another couple was murdered near Moab. Alex Murdaugh hired a hit man who was also a former client of his to shoot him in the head so his eldest son could receive a 10M insurance payout in his death. I said before that a lawyer fixing his own tire on the side of the road is more unusual than getting shot in the head and surviving. Alex's former law firm had benefited the Murdaugh family for generations. Yet when his father died in June, the dynasty was crumbling. In this episode of Drowning Verdict, I talk about the money train the family was riding, and how a little known legal tactic had turned Hampton County, SC into a judicial hellhole, one that made him prosperous in an otherwise struggling community.

22 year old Gabby Petito is missing and the last person to see her alive returned from their cross country trek without her. Gabby's boyfriend isn't talking about her disappearance, and he's since retained a lawyer. The last few missing persons cases I've covered have started the same way: girl goes missing and her significant other goes in another direction.
