Investing In Leadership w/ AuthenticUS

In this episode of the Durango Joes Podcast, we had the distinct pleasure to chat with Marshall Snider of AuthenticUS and Don Kellum of Safety Electric, who joined us in the recording studio during a visit to shadow Durango Joes. Not only are Joe, Marshall, and Don great longtime friends, but they're also all leaders and entrepreneurs. As such, the topic of people development and leadership are critical to their success.

Tune in for our discussion on why investing in leadership is so important, how to take those first steps into leadership development and how Marshall's business has transformed Durango Joes and Safety Electric for the better.

What it Takes to Serve Award Winning Coffee w/ Phil Beattie, Dillanos Coffee Roasters

It's no secret that Durango Joes Coffee partners with Dillanos Coffee Roasters to bring award-winning coffee to our customers. But what, or who, makes our coffee so remarkable? In many ways, it's everyone from the coffee farmers and producers to the baristas serving it here in our cafes. But Phil Beattie plays an especially fascinating and vital role in the coffee value chain. As Coffee Director and Green Coffee Buyer at Dillanos Coffee Roasters, he has his finger on the pulse of everything coffee, and today we've got him on the mic with us!

From the role he plays in the coffee value chain to the importance of relationship-based and fairly traded coffee, and so many topics in between, Phil is a wealth of knowledge on the coffee industry. Whether you're in the business of coffee, or just enjoy it, this is an amazing episode!

How Employees can Resign with Grace (and How Employers can Help)

How Employees can Resign with Grace (and How Employers can Help)

At Durango Joes, we understand that the majority of our employees aren't going to be with us their entire careers. It's part of the reality of running a coffee business, and recent studies suggest that employees across industries are expected to shift positions or jobs every 12 months on average.

With this in mind, job mobility is an important thing to develop. Today we're talking about how to resign with grace and how employers can help encourage their staff to finish well when the time comes.

Key takeaways:

1. Job mobility is a critical thing to maintain in your career.

2. There are many reasons why someone chooses to leave their job but, in all cases, they should try their best to leave in grace and finish well.

3. Be yourself, be diplomatic, and be a team player. Stay engaged, be supportive, and be professional. Be quiet, be ethical, and keep a sense of humor.

4. Employers can help encourage their staff to finish well by being clear about expectations, being open and supportive of change, keeping a tab on their team members, and help people out the door when the time comes.
