Zuhair has been advocating for the inclusion of youth expectations and demands in international environmental policy negotiations. He demonstrates excellent leadership skills in youth participation and environmental policy advocacy and has ample experience working with government ministries, academic institutions, INGOs, and others. In addition, he has completed his graduation and post-graduation on Disaster Management from the University of Dhaka. Zuhair was awarded the ‘Hanyang (South Korea) Youth Changemaker Award in 2017.
Zuhair co-founded the ‘Youth Environment and Social Development Society - YESDS’ in 2015, a youth-led nonprofit organization to empower young leaders to play critical and competitive roles in sustainable development through climate actions. Through this, he provides youth with a platform offering action-based learning programs about all the aspects of resilience and sustainability and provides access to resources and networks. Currently, he facilitates and promotes youth participation in international environmental governance processes as a regional focal point for Asia-Pacific at the Children and Youth Major Group of the UN Environment Program.

Zuhair has been working with EARTHDAY.ORG since May 2019 as the manager for earth day programs in Bangladesh to promote green entrepreneurship among youth to respond to the climate crisis and environmental degradation consequences.

Edwin Namakanga is a climate activist from Uganda. He graduated from Makerere University in 2019 with a Bachelors of Science in Population Studies. Both Vanessa Nakate and Greata Thunberg inspired him to get involved with climate activism, which happened in 2019. Becoming an organizer for Fridays for Future Climate Strikes and a graphics designer for the Rise Up MOvement were the next steps of his activist journey.
