MMMM is creating a movement calling for the trillions of pounds invested in UK pensions to build a better world. They do this through clever and engaging campaigns, aimed at individuals, organizations and the government, raising awareness of how pension funds are invested in lots of extractive and destructive industries and encouraging people to consider how they could be spent on much better things such as social housing, wind farms or reforestation to name but a few.

In this episode we dive into conversation with Matias Muchnick, CEO and founder of NotCo, a cutting edge food-tech company using artificial intelligence to develop plant-based products. NotCo is today the fastest growing food tech brand in Latin America. At just 33 years old, Matias leads a team of scientists, culinary chefs, and engineers working together to develop NotCo’s patented algorithm named Giuseppe. The algorithm perfects plant-based recipes so that they taste delicious and remarkably close to what they’re mimicking, easing the transition to a plant-based diet.

In this episode we dive into conversation with brothers Charlie and Angus Buchanan-Smith, founders of The Free Company, an organic and no-dig farm. Their regenerative and progressive agricultural methods provide fresh vegetable and no-waste pig boxes through a subscription service to customers and top chefs and restaurants in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. At the farm Charlie and Angus also run a rural restaurant that offers a supper club series for seven months of the year in a pay what you think it’s worth system. The menu celebrates Scottish Seasonal food and each of the 6 plates served offer a combination of delicious and fresh organic ingredients straight from farm to table.

In this episode we dive into conversation with Sir Partha Dasgupta, the Frank Ramsey Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Cambridge, Fellow of St John's College, Cambridge, and Visiting Professor at the New College of the Humanities, London. His landmark report: 'The Economics of Biodiversity: The Dasgupta Review’ was commissioned by the UK Treasury and published in 2021. The review explores the relationship between biodiversity and economics and outlines the need for an overhaul of the way we value nature within our current economic frameworks.

In this episode we dive into conversation with Laurien Holtjer, lover and expert of wild nature. Today, Laurien is the Head of Communications at Rewilding Europe. In the past ten years Rewilding Europe has been reintroducing wildlife and bringing back vital ecosystems across Europe: eg. bisons in Romania, bears in the Pyrenees. Laurien's passion for wild nature has taken her across the world, from a biodiversity project in Kyrgyzstan, a field study in South Africa and even underwater as a diving instructor.

In this episode we dive into conversation with Mike Horn, one of the world’s greatest modern day explorers. Mike has undertaken exceptional feats of endurance, determination and courage. He’s circumnavigated the world twice (once on the Equator and once on the Arctic Circle--both alone and without motorized vehicles); he’s crossed South America and the entire length of the Amazon river on a hydrospeed, he made a crossing to the North Pole in winter and complete darkness; he’s sailed around the planet for four years on his sailboat Pangaea educating young people about the environment; and he’s scaled four of the world’s 8,000m+ mountains.

In this episode we dive into conversation with Roc Sandford, an inspirational figure in the environmental movement. A keen activist, Roc has campaigned with Extinction Rebellion since its inception in 2018 and stood as a Green Party candidate for the Westminster City Council in three elections. This year he is focusing on Ocean Rebellion--a sister movement to XR. For the last 15 years Roc has been living on an island in Northern Scotland, Gometra, where he lives an off-grid and low-carbon lifestyle.
