With big dreams, Ntombenhle started her business in 2011, leaving her job and cashing in her pension to mix her grandmother’s natural hair care recipes to sell at stalls. Bootstrapping her business, with no personal income and losing everything along the way (car, house) Afrobotanics finally hit the shelves of Clicks in 2015 and things started to slowly change.
AfroBotanics is now the top 3 selling natural hair care brand at Clicks!!!

But in my 20 years as an entrepreneur , through recessions and across continents I have never known the beauty business to suffer… until now!
Since Covid 19 down graded my salons and millions of other lifestyle businesses - including restaurants, gyms, travel agents, event planner, clubs and sports - to non-essential status life has become stagnant, uneventful and frankly boring!
Here on the non-essential entrepreneur we will explore business in the new world, how to start one, how to survive, and why the non essential is actually the essential spark for a colourful life… which is what we all want! So do not despair entrepreneur join me Ego Iwegbu as we pivot our ideas and get this COME BACK STARTED!
