Welcome to the Beautiful Things and Memories podcast. I'm Elaine Aquino, your host for this show. I created this podcast as an audio component to my blog at elaineaquino.com, where I talk and nerd about self improvement, minimalism, motherhood, and more. You can also see me in video format on my YouTube channel that is atyoutube.com/elaineaqs89. I hope you enjoy the show.
Or how I keep things flowing (as much as humanly possible)
These are some of the tools I use to organize and manage my blog, podcast, and vlog:
1 | Calendar
I’ve recently started blocking out times on my calendar. But as per usual, Rebel tendency sets in, and I never do what’s on the calendar. Lol.
First of all, I never sleep on time, and therefore never wake up on time. I don’t have a clue what it means to experience a “routine” per se. Aka, I have never done anything consistently at the same time everyday in my life. Sad truth? I beg to disagree. I like to believe it keeps my days more interesting. Lol. (I might as well end each paragraph with “Lol” whenever I talk about time management. Lol.)
You know what, I’m just not gonna do it like most other bloggers/ content creators out there… and just frickin do my own thing.
This first week of January 2020 has me in a slightly overpowering mindfuck. Snicker, snicker, so I cursed again.
I have what one can only call a vlogmas hangover. Trying to vlog, edit, publish everyday on top of life’s usual activities is pretty jarring.
2019 has been a good year.
At the beginning of this year, I challenged myself to post on my blog twice a month for a year at least. I did that plus more.
I created vlogs and podcasts.
I earned a certificate for front end web development on freeCodeCamp.
I committed to vlogmas even after December 25.
I made this year as intentional as I could.
I finally fucking did it.
I turned 30 last December 13, btw.
Being 20 and free. What a time to be in.
The 20s are basically the free pass of life, I think.
I mean, I’m only 30 years old now but I do believe a lot of good, fun things happen in your 20s that are so different than in later years when you have so much more responsibility on your plate (especially if you’re planning to have kids).
Whatever your Tendency is, I believe it's always a good idea to work in a way that's suited to you. Content creation is the same in that it depends on you to bring out perspectives that are your own. You don't have to follow what everyone else is doing when you could very well contribute your own spin into the conversation of whatever industry you're in.
I get a little raw and real in this episode but only because it means so much to me. I hope maximizing life is at the very core of what you do too. And I hope this episode inspires you to bring out and share your passion to the world.
Creating content doesn't have to be so hard and pressure-filled all the time. The key to is to talk about what matters and is true to you. Here are 5 easy steps you can execute to start a blog in the coming new year. Plus, an additional bonus step at the end to nail down your new online presence.
What should you do when every corporate job experience doesn't seem to work out for you? The first thing is not to be so hard on yourself. If you really tried your best but it didn't pan out the way you'd like, then you owe it to yourself to discover what you truly aim to be working on in life. Maybe you're a creative with ideas that don't necessarily fit into a corporate environment. Maybe your work ethics were meant for freelancing or entrepreneurship. Whatever it is, don't be afraid to keep learning, keep making mistakes, don't repeat the same mistake, and keep moving. Our podcast episode for today is all about training yourself to work optimally. I hope you find this enjoyable!
Sometimes, when you really love what you're doing, you can't help but NOT STOP. Here's the thing, though. If you don't stop, you're not doing your body and mind any favors. It will burn you out at some point and we don't want that for you if you really plan to see your goals through... right? So I hope you carve out some time to rest, recuperate, and relax. When you do, Future Self will thank you.
Hey there! It's not that I don't like being on a community or having friends at all. It's just that talking about them is a different story for me. I think it's much more fruitful to talk about ideas and actually plan some course of action that will make your future self thankful. I hope you find this episode enjoyable!
For today’s podcast, I’m going to share with you a book that truly changed the way I think. In this episode, I talk to you about the lessons I learned from Brianna Wiest’s book. It was truly a very down yet enlightening moment for me after reading 101 Essays That Will Change The Way You Think. I hope you enjoy listening to this episode.
I hope you’ve been enjoying the podcasts this month. For today, I discuss with you about Stoicism and how it has deeply helped me in my relationship. I hope you find this episode useful. Thanks for listening!
Meditation is kind of a make-or-break situation. Some people love it. Some people don’t. And that’s okay. What’s important is that we stay in the present so we can be mindful of the people and things around us. The key is to be able to appreciate what we have right now. I talk more about this with you in the podcast. I hope you enjoy!
Well, hello there! Today we have an audio version of my blog post regarding content creation during a particularly busy schedule. I believe our energies come in seasons and it’s important to honor the season you’re in. In this podcast, I talk to you about strategies and tactics that have helped me create all this content in advance. I hope you find it useful. Enjoy!
For today, we’re talking about the issues of hiding pain. We all experience pain but there are various ways in which we show or talk about them. In this episode, I talk about vulnerability, showing emotions, and verbalizing pain.
I am so glad to be presenting to you my very first podcast episode!
Actually, this episode is simply an audio narration of the blog post on my website (elaineaquino.com). But I wanted to celebrate this very small win. I’ve worked hard with the time I had to put together these podcast episodes in case you’d like to listen to my blog wherever you are. :)
I hope you like it. And as always, you can send your feedback regarding my content anytime through the contact page on my site. Enjoy!
