Stop the Hate

Stop the Hate

I want to take advantage of this contest, not to win the prize, I tried in the past without success, I just want to leave you a message as clear as possible: stop the hate.

We are living in very sad times. In countries like the United States the last 4 years were a disaster, and many people I know lived in fear for the first time in their lives. Now that everything seems to be over, there are still open wounds caused by hate speech, wounds that will take time to close.

It doesn't matter where you live, it doesn't matter if you are Chinese, Asian, Latino, African. It does not matter if you are white, black, green, yellow, man, woman, or simply decide not to belong to any gender, we are human beings, we have dreams, family, friends, children, we share the same planet, we are the same.

My name is Ernesto all I ask is: Stop the hate. Please.

Ernesto: Cuba is a country where the official media is controlled by the Government. This is the reason why, people have been looking for different alternatives to stay informed. Podcasting offers access to a more real vision of the reality in Cuba. I am Ernesto

Eduardo: Many Cubans have decided to create their own Podcasts, to give a voice to those who have none: entrepreneurs, activists, artists, people who contribute to the country's economy and culture as much as they can, despite the difficulties and little support from the Government.

Ernesto: This, is Eduardo, a Cuban who decided to create his own Podcast, to offer information under a different light. He interviews people who work in the private sector, and who will never appear on radio or television. But it’s not easy

Eduardo: We are already more than 30 podcasters in Cuba, what we do is try to offer something completely different, quality content. We are using Smartphones or in the best of cases, some cheap USB microphones that we managed to buy on the country's black market.

Ernesto: In Cuba, Internet access for the people came late, it is slow and expensive. Uploading podcasts on platforms like Anchor, is quite complicated for most of the cubans.

Eduardo: Even so, there are initiatives like CubaPOD, the Cuban Podcasts Directory, where the Cuban podcasting community can come together and share their work and experiences.

Ernesto: Podcasting in Cuba is just beginning, and many wonderful stories are on the way. Stay tuned
