Shiv Rapley

Shiv has been heavily involved in both children and youth ministry for over 15 years. She is the Children’s Ministry Director at City Gates Church, Ilford. She also co-ordinates an annual evangelistic youth conference called Girl Talk.

Naomi Nelson

Naomi is currently the Children’s Pastor at City Church Swansea. She is also an Elim Minister in Training. She is passionate about giving children the best start in their relationships with God and helping them grow in their emotional and mental well-being.

Charles will speak about his experiences supporting children and adults with autism. He will discuss leadership and team building as well as giving practical examples of situations he has encountered in his role at SKY Autism and how these were resolved.

Charles Zinyama

Charles has a degree in theology from Regents Theological College. Charles is the youth leader of Beacon Elim Church and currently works for SKY Autism, Malvern.

This seminar will trace Elim’s progress from near collapse to an established and growing Pentecostal movement.

Maldwyn Jones has been a minister in Elim for 53 years and has pastored several Elim churches. He was appointed as Elim’s historian in 2014.

Anna chaplains accompany older people in their spiritual journey and are appointed by local churches, serving in different contexts across the UK. Debbie will share the charity’s vision, hoping to inspire others to engage with this growing ministry.

Debbie Ducille

Debbie is church lead for the Bible Reading Fellowship’s national Anna Chaplaincy team, heading up strategic work with UK church denominations and enabling the rapidly expanding network.

Good leadership is crucial to the health of every local church. This session explores the functions and responsibilities of leadership within the life of local church.

Jamie Lavery

Jamie has been an Elim Minister for almost 13 years, 7 of which have been in his current role leading Elim Crawley. Jamie is married to Sophie, and they have two children.

Martin Gaunt

Martin is the manager of adult social care for Surry County Council, leading a large team of social workers. Within the local church, he has been an elder in Elim Crawley for 25 years.

Iona Ledwidge

Iona is one of the Executive Directors at Resurgo, a social impact organisation, overseeing the award-winning Spear Programme which coaches young people facing significant barriers to employment. Iona also engages leaders in business in how to adopt a coaching approach in their leadership style.

Megan Reilly

Megan is an International Coaching Federation accredited coach at PCC level and has worked for Resurgo, a social impact organisation, for seven years. After working on their Spear and Re-Work Programmes, she now oversees Resurgo’s church partnerships in the North of the UK. Megan is passionate about the church engaging in social transformation in their local contexts.

Stuart Blount

Stuart has been a minister in Elim for 35 years and a member of the National Leadership Team since 2006. He was appointed Director of Ministry in 2016.

Ishbel Straker

Ishbel is CEO and founder of I Straker Consultants and is recognised as an expert in the field of addiction and the treatment of co-existing mental health problems. She is an experienced expert witness, an Honorary Clinical Lecturer for Middlesex University, and Ambassador for the Department of Psychology for Edge Hill University.

What does it mean to be a “Looked After Child”? We will discuss potential impacts, things churches should be aware of, and how we can help share Christ’s love given the different experiences and challenges that looked after children face.

Louise Humber

Louise is a qualified social worker who has worked within a local authority Children’s Services department for 12 years. She has gained a variety of experience most latterly as a senior social worker supervising foster carers. Louise joined Elim’s safeguarding department in October 2022 as an Assistant National Safeguarding Coordinator.

Grace Saalmans

Grace is an Elim Assistant National Safeguarding Coordinator and is also Elim’s Early Years Operations Manager. She is a qualified teacher and has taught in early years settings. Prior to this, Grace worked as the Children’s, Youth and Families worker in her local Elim church.

How can we be distinct and hopeful amid so many obstacles in our cultural landscape?

Gavin Calver is the CEO of the Evangelical Alliance. He has a burning passion to see the church working together to share the Gospel throughout the UK. Formerly the leader of Youth for Christ and chair of Spring Harvest, he’s an ordained evangelist and regular public speaker, and has authored six books. Married to Anne, they have two children.

Olivia Amartey

Olivia is the Executive Director for Elim and also serves as the associate pastor of Crosspoint Church, Birmingham. Her career encompasses several senior management positions in a range of different organisations including the Probation Service, the Church of England and the NHS.

Osoba Otaigbe

Osoba is a Baptist Minister and works for the Bible Society and Gather Movement. He is the author of ‘Building cultural intelligence in church and ministry: 10 ways to assess and improve your cross- cultural competence in church, ministry and the workplace.’

David and Greta Peters

David was an Elim Minister for many years in New Zealand. Currently he and Greta are on the leadership team of Church Unlimited, a large, multicultural church in Auckland and have extensive experience in prophetic/ teaching ministry.

What is theology and why do we need it? There are many ways to ‘do’ theology; we’ll think theologically about our culture.

Ollie Ward

Ollie works at Regents Theological College teaching youth ministry and has worked with youth groups across the UK. He leads Limitless Academy and a group of young people at his local church.

What is leadership? There are so many definitions out there. How do we raise up a generation of kingdom- minded leaders in today’s society?

In this session, Gavin Calver shares 10 tips to lead well as a young leader in our western context. This will be followed by a Q&A session.

Rediscovering our core confidence in the gospel requires humility, faith, courage and focussed action ...otherwise our message will remain blended and blunted. How can we re-set around a thoroughly Pentecostal gospel in our experience and practice? How can we enable every local church in every context to become fruitful and reproductive evangelising and discipling communities?

Mark Greenwood

Mark is Elim’s National Evangelist and has been in full-time evangelism since 1988. Seeing much change in the world and church since then, he is passionate about the gospel’s power to save.

Trudy Makepeace

Trudy serves on the leadership team at E5 Bristol as an outreach and evangelism pastor. She is a missionary evangelist, author and passionate communicator of the Gospel.

Duncan Clark

Duncan is the senior pastor of Coventry Elim Church and a member of Elim’s National Leadership Team. He’s married to Helen with four children.

Shirene Agbelusi

Shirene is associate pastor at Coventry Elim and serves on Aspire, Elim’s national women’s ministry team. Shirene is married to Sope and has two teenagers.

Chris was ordained in 1993 and has ministered for over twenty-five years. He began serving on the pastoral team at Kensington Temple in the late 1980s in a variety of ministry roles. From 1997 to 2010, Chris was the senior pastor of the City Temple in Cardiff. In 2010 he became the Regional Leader for Wales and the Southern Region before being appointed as the General Superintendent of Elim in May 2016. Chris is married to Annie.

How do we communicate the message of our mission? This session will inspire and equip you to do this.

Mark Greenwood has been in full-time evangelism across four decades. He is Elim’s National Evangelist and head of evangelism and is a speaker, writer, podcaster, and broadcaster.

More than conquerors’ is not a slogan. Eric discovered its reality in twenty-two years of appalling pain, and through over forty years serving others walking through grief.

Eric Gaudion served as an Elim minister and while leading Cardiff City Temple he became seriously ill. There followed twenty-two years of unremitting pain, over one hundred admissions to the hospital and more than thirty surgeries. Eric’s latest book ‘Through the Storms’ came out recently.

Mental health has barely been out of the headlines in recent months; but why is it so important? And what does it mean for us and our churches? How has the pandemic changed us? How do we, the Church, step up and make a difference in our communities?

Patrick Regan is CEO and co-founder of Kintsugi Hope, which came about following a series of personal trials and ill-health affecting Patrick and his family. Before that, Patrick led urban youth work charity XLP, which he founded in 1996 and ran for 22 years.

Phil Knox is the head of Mission to Young Adults at the Evangelical Alliance.

Simon Bass is the director of Church Safeguarding Consultancy and has been supporting churches across all denominations to safeguard and protect children and adults for over three decades.

This session will be aiming to look at a seven-step recruitment process that helps us find, attract, and retain the right kind of candidates.

Alison Dunsmore is an HR generalist professional with over 25 years in human resource and operational management. Her background has been working in both the charitable and commercial sector.

Shirene Agbelusi is the associate pastor at Coventry Elim. She is a trained counsellor with a background of working in primary schools and has over ten years of experience in supporting families with complex needs.

Paul Hudson has been an Elim Minister for thirty years, pastored two churches, served as the International Missions Director, and is presently the Regional Leader for the North East and Midlands. He has served in missions around the world, especially in Africa, for twenty-two years and is a member of the Elim Global Advisory Board.

Iain Hesketh is the International Missions Director for Elim. Iain is passionate about identifying, training, and releasing missionaries from everywhere to partner with the Spirit in the renewal of all things under Christ.

Rachel Hickson

Rachel and Gordon Hickson have both worked alongside Reinhard Bonnke in Africa for six years from 1984. During this time, Rachel almost lost
her life in a horrific car accident but was miraculously healed by God. In 1990, Rachel and Gordon led a group of four churches and Heartcry for Change was born. Rachel has a passion to see radical lovers of Jesus shift the atmospheres in our society today... and is crazy enough to believe that an army of ordinary people like us can do it! She is the author of eight books.

His award-winning book, The Deeply Formed Life, was released in September 2020.
