EP 102: How to Add Carbs Back Into Your Diet with Type 1 Diabetes

In this podcast episode, we dive into one of the most controversial topics in the diabetes community - carbs. If you've been following along, you know I'm all about those carbs. However, I also believe that there's no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to nutrition. Carbs were a significant part of my upbringing and athletic lifestyle, but when I was diagnosed with diabetes at 19, all I heard was how to avoid carbs.

This episode is for those of you who, like me, want to discuss how to reintroduce carbs into your diet. We'll tackle the mental and emotional challenges that can arise when you're told to avoid something that was once a big part of your life. If you are eager to reintroduce carbs back into your life with diabetes, this conversation is for you. Let's break down the barriers and explore how carbs can fit into your diabetes journey.

EP 88: Building Muscle with Diabetes: Everything You Need to Know with Anthony Baklouk

Building muscle with type 1 diabetes, what is there to know? We all know there are a lot of factors to consider with exercise and blood sugar management, but what about when it comes to actually seeing results?

Meet Anthony Baklouk. Anthony is a fitness trainer with his bachelors in Health Science. He's been training clients in person and online for the past 8 years inside his private training and meal prepping company, Baklouk Training. He helps his clients get Bak on Track so they can achieve their goals and sustain them long term through weight training and addressing daily habits. Although Anthony does not live with T1D himself, he has been my and my fiance's trainer for the last 2.5 years and he's taught us everything we know about gaining muscle, which is why I wanted to bring him onto the show.
