How do you mend a broken relationship due to an affair?  Start building trust by being emotionally open.  Although most men think emotions are a sign of weakness, Trevor says, “Your emotions are one of the greatest strengths. How in the world do you think you connect with anybody? It’s through emotions. When she has access to you emotionally, she can trust you. It’s not a silver bullet, but it’s where you can start.”

Love your past self, learn your fears & learn about your longings!

Jason Wood on Thriving after Divorce, Raising a Daughter as a Single Dad, and the Most Important Factor in Relationships

Jason Wood on Thriving after Divorce, Raising a Daughter as a Single Dad, and the Most Important Factor in Relationships

Today we are blessed to have Jason Wood on the podcast - AKA @Jfloydwood on Instagram.

This episode covers many topics, including:

  • Mental health struggles of men
  • How to get out of funk after divorce
  • The importance of being an individual when it comes to relationships
  • Being a single dad and a good representation for his daughter
  • What kind of woman would fit into Jason's life/what he's looking for
  • The importance of personal space in relationships

And more!

Listen and tell us what your favorite part of the podcast was!

Jason was born and currently lives in Virginia and is a single dad to a seven-year-old daughter, a decorated United States Army Combat Veteran, and an endurance athlete.
Jason has experienced several successes, but he's also had his share of challenges. Many of these challenges came after leaving the military and after attempting to take his own life and being diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He took on his first endurance race in 2017 as a way to break out of a persistent mental and physical funk. Within a month, Jason was on an obstacle course battling obstacles that represented much of what he felt he was facing in life. From that point, he found that signing up for endurance challenges gave him very specific goals to plan for and the confidence he was building in his physical and mental fitness was translating into every area of his life. Jason says, "I want to be the best I can be in every part of my life. I want to show everyone, specifically Veterans who feel lost, misunderstood, or have their confidence shaken, that there's always a way forward."

My Parent's Fcked Me Up, What Now? Inner Child Work with Psychologist, Barlas Gunay (@AcceptandAct)

My Parent's Fcked Me Up, What Now? Inner Child Work with Psychologist, Barlas Gunay (@AcceptandAct)

In this episode, we deep dive into the world of healing the inner child with psychologist and certified mediation teacher, Barlas Gunay. I had questions prepared that he answered with such grace, it was a conversation that offers wisdom and healing to anyone who listens.

Main talking points:

👉Is it necessary to forgive our parents to properly heal the inner child?

👉How much responsibility is on us vs the parent when healing?

👉Knowing that we're all human, and at one point our parents could have suffered, how do we balance validating our own pain with compassion and understanding?

👉How can a conscious adult keep a good relationship with their parents even if they never take responsibility for the pain that was caused? Is it possible?

Barlas Gunay is a psychologist and certified meditation and mindfulness teacher based in the Netherlands. He's also a passionate digital content creator for his quickly growing Instagram page "Accept and Act" where he dives deep into teaching people self-reparenting and achieving freedom through awareness. He can also be found on Patreon where he leads a steadily growing membership-based online community of self-healing.

The Power of Surrender

The Power of Surrender

Surrender. To cease resistance. To completely give over actions, ideas, beliefs to a higher power. Not usually a word ever associated with accomplishment, strength, or success, this is what we'll be talking about in this episode.

For those who are struggling, feeling lost, or have been pushing, doing everything right for a while and still feel like things aren't panning out - Perhaps the answer is much easier than you were initially looking for.

Male Infertility &Toxic Masculinity with Jonathan Palmer

Thank Your Pain is a podcast focused on seeing the lessons and blessings from the painful moments in our lives in order to give hope to others who might be in the same situation. We are honored today to dive in deep with Jonathan Palmer on the topics of Toxic Masculinity, infertility, and what it means to truly be a man.

Jonathan's story of manhood goes from being picked on as a child, to becoming a pro-wrestler, to having to go through a painful separation, and so much more. He openly discusses with me the way society made him feel he had to be and act a certain way in order to feel "manly" and discusses how he would do it differently if he were to have children and what being a figure to future men looks like.
