The End Time Blog Podcast
By Elizabeth Prata
I was a school teacher, a journalist/editor, now an elementary teacher's aide. After I was saved I began a writing ministry for Christian women on the topics of encouragement, Reformed theology, and discernment. Why The End Time? We're living in the end time. Time is short to share the Gospel- and grows shorter each day. I'm a member in a local, elder-led church, and I await the day I will meet my Jesus face to face. Blessings!

570: When a pagan sees the Northern Lights for the first time
By Elizabeth Prata
The National Atmospheric and Oceanographic Administration, AKA NOAA, advised yesterday that an 'extreme' geomagnetic storm was gong to hit the US last night. They issued a rare severe geomagnetic storm warning of 'G5' (highest) when a solar outburst reached Earth on Friday. The effects include glowing lights in the northern sky, colors of ethereal and jaw dropping beauty.
My friends here in Georgia are excited. Northern Lights are rarely seen this far south! Indeed, as I awoke this morning many of them had posted photographs of the Lights in the sky. One social media account posted seeing them as far south as Key Largo, Florida!
How can we help someone who doesn't know after seeing a display like the Northern Lights this far south? Tune in to hear!

567: Encouragement: Keeping our conscience tender
In a semi-rambling post, I look at seasons literally, seasons of sin, then gifts from God, one of which is our conscience. Poor Jeremiah, he never had a convert, the peoples' conscience was so seared they just kept right on sinning. Don't let that be you! At the end I offer several resources on the conscience.

There is such inexpressible and perpetual activity in the holy realms, it is breathtaking to think of. All heaven is working under command of our Holy God to ready for the Time. What time? 558: The Suddenness of Job's Tragedies
So as Sophia used to say on the TV show The Golden Girls, "Picture it, the land of Uz, 4000 years ago..." Job is living his life. Nothing remarkable happened. Oh, probably the usual servant issues, animals dying, an occasional tribal raid. But his life was stable and proceeding apace as the years went on. Like all of us, we think how it is now is how it's going to stay. This attitude is even captured in the Bible where people are mocking, saying "For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue just as they were from the beginning of creation." (2 Peter 3:4b). Listen in for biblical food for thought about the impermanence and fragility of life.

Jerusalem! It is the eternal city, (Psalm 46:4, Revelation 3:12) God’s city where He has set His name, (1 Kings 11:36, 2 Chronicles 12:13) and is the city in which Immanuel (Matthew 1:23) will dwell in all His glory, (Zechariah 8:3) calling it Jehovah Shammah, The Lord is There. (Ezekiel 48:35). It is the nickname He uses when he calls His people. (Zechariah 3:2). It is a place that it figures solely as the most important land, city, and people in the history of the earth. All of history is dwindling down to one focal point: Jerusalem. So let’s take a look at this incredible place.

Before the foundation of the world, God determined in His mind and His heart to select a people for Himself to have fellowship with, to produce the Messiah through them, and for them to spread the news of a Savior to the world. 547: Be children in mischief, adults in righteousness
Let's unpack this a bit-
Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature. (1 Corinthians 14:20) In the verse above, Paul is admonishing the Corinthians for over-valuing tongues (glossolalia). The church was entranced by the 'show' of tongues and interpretation of tongues. They had become unduly entranced by this next 'shiny new thing' (kind of like a mega-pastor with a fog machine or a boy with a new slingshot). Why are we so attracted to fads that come into the church? Tune in for Paul's apostolic rebuke.

546: The 3rd Commandment, celebrities like Gerry Brooks, and me
Social media is perplexing to me. I never know what will catch people's attention and take off, for good or for ill. This one took off for ill.
The verse literally says not to do it AND that people who do it will be punished. The Lord God above has promised punishment for those who use His name flippantly and vainly. This is serious!
Yet for the hundreds of people shouting at me on social media that I was a Karen, no fun, pain in the behind judgmental church lady, the bulk of the comments made me realize most of the people commenting easily believe that taking the Lord's name in vain is a 'respectable sin'. Or not a sin at all!

545: A fantastic, amazing decision!
There is usually a tipping point where the ministry (and usually it's a corporation) gets big and the woman who founded it needs to re-evaluate her goals and realistically decide what to do next. It has been my contention that the above named women, and others, made the wrong choice. They invested themselves in their growing ministry, which inevitably took them away from their Godly role at home and church, and they became celebrities, with all that entails, which is usually negative.
Read on to find out one woman who gave it up at its tipping point, in favor of her submission to elders, home, and her sphere.

This week, a video surfaced where well-respected pastor Alistair Begg had advised that it was acceptable for a Christian to attend a transgender/gay wedding, and also to specifically buy a gift.

In this podcast I recount what happened, show there are a couple other issues with Begg's stances, perhaps at this point creating a pattern of a lack of discernment? I also include lots of resources.
