The End Time Blog Podcast
By Elizabeth Prata
I was a school teacher, a journalist/editor, now an elementary teacher's aide. After I was saved I began a writing ministry for Christian women on the topics of encouragement, Reformed theology, and discernment. Why The End Time? We're living in the end time. Time is short to share the Gospel- and grows shorter each day. I'm a member in a local, elder-led church, and I await the day I will meet my Jesus face to face. Blessings!

Of Pocket Notebooks and Jonathan Edwards
How do you organize your room, spot, or nook where you study God's word? What paraphernalia and/or furniture helps you streamline your thoughts? In today's episode we look at Jonathan Edwards' study and his growth from jotting down thoughts on scraps of paper he pinned to his coat, to his customized six-sided rotating desk. I also ask what you need or use to help you when you study.

547: Be children in mischief, adults in righteousness
Let's unpack this a bit-
Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature. (1 Corinthians 14:20) In the verse above, Paul is admonishing the Corinthians for over-valuing tongues (glossolalia). The church was entranced by the 'show' of tongues and interpretation of tongues. They had become unduly entranced by this next 'shiny new thing' (kind of like a mega-pastor with a fog machine or a boy with a new slingshot). Why are we so attracted to fads that come into the church? Tune in for Paul's apostolic rebuke.

546: The 3rd Commandment, celebrities like Gerry Brooks, and me
Social media is perplexing to me. I never know what will catch people's attention and take off, for good or for ill. This one took off for ill.
The verse literally says not to do it AND that people who do it will be punished. The Lord God above has promised punishment for those who use His name flippantly and vainly. This is serious!
Yet for the hundreds of people shouting at me on social media that I was a Karen, no fun, pain in the behind judgmental church lady, the bulk of the comments made me realize most of the people commenting easily believe that taking the Lord's name in vain is a 'respectable sin'. Or not a sin at all!

545: A fantastic, amazing decision!
There is usually a tipping point where the ministry (and usually it's a corporation) gets big and the woman who founded it needs to re-evaluate her goals and realistically decide what to do next. It has been my contention that the above named women, and others, made the wrong choice. They invested themselves in their growing ministry, which inevitably took them away from their Godly role at home and church, and they became celebrities, with all that entails, which is usually negative.
Read on to find out one woman who gave it up at its tipping point, in favor of her submission to elders, home, and her sphere.

Moses had communed with God already on the Mount. He'd heard His voice. He had seen the burning bush, a manifestation of God's power and sovereignty over creation. He'd been given the privilege of learning God's own name from God's own lips. He'd been told he had favor with God.
So why ask to see God's glory? Is Moses being pushy? Selfish?

Episode 540: Attending a transgender/gay wedding? Alistair Begg's reply and the outcry
This week, a video surfaced where well-respected pastor Alistair Begg had advised that it was acceptable for a Christian to attend a transgender/gay wedding, and also to specifically buy a gift.
This caused everything from head scratching to a furor online. Open letters were written and published. Begg is even trending on Twitter(X).
In this podcast I recount what happened, show there are a couple other issues with Begg's stances, perhaps at this point creating a pattern of a lack of discernment? I also include lots of resources.
Read and see what you think. Is this the beginning of the end for Begg? Or just a misstep to be corrected?

God spoke to His people in the Old Testament in many ways, one was through weather. In these New Testament days we cannot know whether a 'natural disaster' is a specific judgment or not, but we CAN know that God controls or allows all weather to happen for His purposes. Today we look at drought.

Quite often when I publish an essay regarding false doctrine brought by a false teacher, I receive angry comments and emails telling me to 'judge not' and the like. Episode 520: Christmas Scriptures #3: Jesus' birth foretold to Mary
I like this version of the Annunciation, or announcement, to Mary by Gabriel. The painting hangs in the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and they explain, "Tanner created an unconventional image of the moment when the angel Gabriel announces to Mary that she will bear the Son of God. Mary is shown as an adolescent dressed in rumpled Middle Eastern peasant clothing, without a halo or other holy attributes. Gabriel appears only as a shaft of light." Christmas is such a special time of year, I thought I'd do a short series focusing on just the scriptures related to the holiday, so we may ponder, rejoice, and think about all that it means that God Himself incarnated in order to save us from our sins.

Episode 511: Angels: Their many ministries
Angels figure prominently in the NT. People don’t really know this, or they overlook angels in the created order. At the other end of the scale, some are so preoccupied with angels they nearly fall into angel worship.
With Christmas coming up, we will be singing about angels. “Angels We Have Heard on High,” and “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” and “It Came Upon A Midnight Clear” come to mind.
Once you start studying angels, you realize how frequently they are mentioned in the New Testament. And as for the nativity story, they figure prominently, making many appearances!

When times are good and nothing bad is happening to us at present, we can take anything, any philosophy or biblical doctrine, and in our leisure time we discuss it and mull over every minute detail. In part 1, I wrote about what the Bible calls weak women, though the world insists these are in fact strong ladies. They are not. Tune in or read here to see what is really a weak woman in God's economy.
Now let's look at strong women. These women are not strong because they bucked the denominational system and broke their church's glass ceiling, elbowing the men aside in order to preach or teach. No, these women are strong because they dwell inside the strength of Jesus, content to work for His name in HIS strength and within the sphere He gave them...
Episode 504: How does the Bible describe Weak Women? Strong Women?
By Elizabeth Prata
We need godly examples of women who are strong in godly ways. These women who are strong in the right ways aren’t seen by many. This is either because the culture tries to hide them from us, or because they are truly godly, and thus are doing their work in humble, background ways and don’t seek promotion or limelight.
There are many weak women in Christianity too, and many of these ARE seen...
I look at how the Bible describes weak women, and then I discuss how offensive some of these weak women are by what they claim and what they do.
