Movin’ and Groovin’ with Ellen

Episode 8: Ellen continues her discussion of why it is so important to vote for Joe and Kamala in November. She discusses an insightful  biography about Joe, which gives an understanding of him and his times. Also, Ellen dives into the American Rescue Plan, legislation which has saved the USA after the horrors of the pandemic and the Trump Administration. In upcoming episodes, Ellen will discuss other laws that the Biden-Harris Administration  has passed, which Heather Cox Richardson, American History Professor at Boston College, has compared to the legislation of the Great Society of Lyndon Baines Johnson in the 1960's. Ellen begins an eight-episode discussion on why it is so important that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are reelected in November. Boston Globe columnist, Scot Lehigh,  joins Ellen to talk about his wonderful debut novel, Just East of Nowhere, a coming-of-age story which takes place in Eastport, an isolated part of Maine. Scot knows his subject well, as he is a graduate of Shead High School in Eastport. He centers the novel on a young man who must confront painful family secrets, as well as adolescents in his world who have a very hard time growing up. A very raw, gripping story, not to be missed.

Ellen goes political in this podcast. Her mantra is that we all must vote Democratic in the mid-terms because if we do not, the MAGA extremists will continue to take away our rights as they have taken away safe, legal abortion. Now the MAGA Supreme Court wants to end same-sex marriage, same-sex relationships and birth control. Ellen also discusses the successes of the great Joe Biden! So listen up; register to vote; and VOTE DEMOCRATIC!

Dr. Matthew Bogyo is a professor of Pathology in the Dept. of Pathology at Stanford University School of Medicine.
