Mi madre, Olga Linares, es penosa y no es muy insólito que le pida que sea parte de mis proyectos escolares. Este episodio habla de lo que a ella le encanta hacer: cocinar. Empieza con una plática normal y después se enfoca en la receta de un platillo, que es lo que le gusta de su cultura y la música de su país. La comida de mi madre es la mejor. A veces voy a restaurantes guatemaltecos a comer pero no quedó satisfecha con la comida ya que la comida de mi madre es la que establece los estándares. Pude hablar un poco e incluir a mi abuela en la conversación, ya que mi madre menciona un caldo de gallina criolla. Hay varias veces que me ha dicho que le encantaba comer eso de niña. Mi abuela en ese entonces tenía su propio ganado y mataban el animal unas horas antes de cenar. “Las gallinas de aquí no saben igual'', dijo mi madre. Kimberly Linares.
