My Life Changing Visit With The White Mountain Apache Tribe!!!
This past weekend, I had the honor of visiting the White Mountain Apache Tribe at Fort Apache and being fully immersed in their beautiful history and culture. This opportunity was made available to me because of the GEL Program (Global Experiential Learning Program) here at the University of Arizona. I had the greatest time of my life, and I am so happy to share this experience with you guys! I got permission from our tour guide and my peers to tell this story, and I could not be more honored in that regard as well. So, sit back and kick it with me as I tell you about the trip that opened my eyes and mind to a whole new world.
It may be the end of Black History Month, but Black History NEVER ends.
Hear Us See Us| Trayvon Martin Silent Protest
Tomorrow at 11 am, we will be meeting at AASA a.k.a. the MLK Building at the University of Arizona in all black everything to commemorate Trayvon Martin and all the movement stands for, to us and to everyone. Afterwards, we will return to AASA to have a group discussion and debriefing on the protest itself and all of our own thoughts. So, if you truly wish to learn and advocate, come show your support or join me here on anchor.fm as I relay to you all the protest means and the movement itself. Happy Black History Month! Peace and Love!
How to Start Black History Month Off Right!!!
In this episode, I am interviewing some of the attendees of tonight's event, as well as the president and director of AASA (African American Student Affairs), KC Williams, on the beautiful ambiance of Neo Soul Lounge Night, personal perspectives on music, and, last but not least, BLACK HISTORY MONTH! You'll definitely want to listen until the end!
