We stayed at Temple of the Way of Light, located deep in the Amazon. For two weeks we were completely offgrid and out of touch with the world I know.

The purpose of my time away was to participate in 7 ayahuasca ceremonies led by 5 Maestros and Maestras of the Shipibo. The Shipibo believe ayahuasca is a powerful plant medicine capable of healing people of physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental ailments.

Ayahuasca is not a fortune teller. Rather, it is a mirror into the subconscious that allows you to see within using your conscious mind. Those that have worked with ayahuasca tend to have had profound experiences that positively change the way they see the world going forward.

In the meantime, I want to start out by saying that I am not advocating that anyone take ayahuasca. It is a powerful medicine that can result in some scary experiences including feeling as if you are going mentally insane as I did in my last ceremony. The 7 ceremonies schedule was intense. Over two weeks, we had two days of ceremonies, then a day off, followed by 3 days of ceremonies, then a day off, followed by the last 2 days of ceremonies.

From this 2 week epic experience I have a new budding relationship with god;

I learned that we are all part of one consciousness that is infinite and ever changing.

I saw that our 3 dimensional world right here right now is a hologram and that there is a multidimensional universe beyond this material veil.

I saw that our universe is governed by one consciousness. And this one consciousness is the ever-loving energy of God.

In yoga they talk about raising your vibrational energies. Well I finally understood what they mean.

I understood that the highest and most awesome powerful vibrational energies are love compassion.

And therefore, that is God: Love and compassion the highest power there is.

I saw that the lower vibrational energies such as hate, anger, impatience, worry, and anxiety, belong in this lower 3D world that we live in. They don’t exist in the higher realms. In my visions, these emotions turned into obsidian rock and pushed away.

And I realized that it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter. Nothing matters. There is an infinite awesome world beyond our material world we live in and so nothing matters otherwise.

Additionally, I saw that time doesn’t exist. It is a construct made up by man. The past, present, and future are all combined as one in this higher multi-dimensional world beyond our material world.

And now I understand that there are no such things as coincidences. Everything and everyone is interconnected as I clearly saw behind the veil.

I was told to not eat red meat – just chicken and fish and to “Protect the Plants! The world has to protect the plants and nature because here is where we can heal.

Personally, I understood and released my traumas and angers that were pent up over my life; and I’m feeling better about seeking my purpose;

Podcast #12 - The Ayahuasca Chronicles: An Introduction to my 7 Ceremonies

Podcast #12 - The Ayahuasca Chronicles: An Introduction to my 7 Ceremonies

Sara here from Embolden Adventures. This podcast will introduce and summarize the 7 ayahuasca ceremonies that I participated in recently.

Throughout the two weeks, I made several detailed recordings documenting each of my 7 ayahuasca ceremonies.

These vlogs can be found on my Embolden Adventures YouTube Channel, so be sure to check them out. Please subscribe here to Embolden Adventures. Thanks!

These ceremonies are part of my epic 5 Week Adventure across the world.

From this 2 week epic experience I have a new budding relationship with god;

Podcast #11 - Kilimanjaro Podcast featuring US Marine and friend, Kim

Podcast #11 - Kilimanjaro Podcast featuring US Marine and friend, Kim

This Kilimanjaro podcast is part of the travel series on Mount Kilimanjaro. In 2017, I will make my way to Tanzania in Africa to climb the tallest freestanding mountain in the world.

As I prepare for this feat, I had the chance to chat with high school friend and US Marine, Kim.

Kim climbed Mt Kilimanjaro and spent some time talking to me on this Kilimanjaro podcast about all things Kilimanjaro.

An Embolden Adventure up Kilimanjaro

So what business does this New York City gal have climbing one of the tallest mountains in the world, Kilimanjaro? I don’t know either, but I am going to give it a shot this year.

Join me in my journey as I ready myself to summit this mountain along with friends from around the world. Check out the full Kilimanjaro experience here.
www.emboldenadventures.com/embolden-adventures-kilimanjaro/

Mt Kilimanjaro, an old volcano, is the fourth most prominent peak in the world. Known as “Africa’s Rooftop”, it is the tallest point in all of the continent, standing at 19,341 feet.

This mountain climb is not like that of Mt Everest, only reserved for advanced mountaineers with appropriate climbing equipment. Basically, it is a long, gradual walk up a very tall mountain.

However, climbing Mt Kilimanjaro is still a difficult feat. High elevation can cause altitude sickness for even the best of hikers. Also, the occasional high winds and the cold temperatures can make the hike uncomfortable. While fatalities are rare – just a 0.01% chance – it is worth noting the dangers of falling rocks, slipping, and advanced altitude sickness.

Climbing to the top is both mentally and physically challenging. Hikers can expect to walk between 3 and 8 hours a day for up to 9 days in total. On the day of summiting, hikers can walk a total of 16 hours, starting in the middle of the night in temperatures as cold as -40 degrees Fahrenheit (-40 degrees Celsius).

As I prepare myself for this epic adventure, I spoke to Kim for guidance and some cheerleading in reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro!

Meet Kim here and hear what she had to say about climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, her Marine career, working at the Pentagon, and traveling the world!

Podcast #10 - Camping in America - An Early Travel Blogger (& American Immigrant) Point of View

Podcast #10 - Camping in America - An Early Travel Blogger (& American Immigrant) Point of View

Embolden Adventures - www.EmboldenAdventures.com

Here is a story about the first traveling adventurer I have ever known: Mr. Mario Sousa.

Mr. Sousa has an insatiable desire to see the world. He is the stuff that pioneering explorers are made out of: Curious, adventurous, and proactive in making it happen—An excellent example of an Embolden Adventurer!

Recently Mr. Sousa and his wife reflected on their travels around the United States and Europe. They were kind enough to sit with me, along with their daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter to share their travel experiences over time.

On this podcast hear about:
• How they came to the United States
• Camping around North America in a pop-up tent
• The early travel blogger
• The importance of traveling, even at 90 years old
• And more!

Mr. and Mrs. Sousa are always on the go. They love to travel, they love to learn, and they love to experience new things.

They are the grandparents of one of my best friends growing up. As a kid, I remember watching them travel all around the United States and throughout Europe. They were fantastic role models, showing us all that it is quite possible and fun to travel.

Together they spent many years first exploring their country of Portugal by way of camping. They loved it so much, never once did they have a fight in the tent.

Then in the late 1960s, Mr. and Mrs. Sousa and their daughter immigrated to America, leaving behind a former dictatorship for a new world.

They brought their love of camping and traveling to America. Soon after they settled, they began touring and exploring.

From Connecticut to California, Missouri to Mexico, Mr. Sousa and his wife have embarked on road trips and camping adventures through North America for nearly 50 years.

They planned out their trips and drove across America on an extreme budget at campsites with their pop-up tents.

And what is the most incredible part? They accomplished all of this traveling pre-internet, pre-Google, pre-cellphones and pre-GPS. Mr. Sousa relied on a little bit of cash, traveler’s checks, and a trusty old road map or two.

His can-do attitude and pioneering spirit have propelled him far leading him to live a rich life through travel.

Now Mr. Sousa turns 90 wonderful years old “and still counting,” he says. Mr. Sousa is happy and healthy, and he still wants to see more.

http://www.emboldenadventures.com/kilimanjaro-podcast-natpacker/ This Kilimanjaro podcast is part of the travel series on Mount Kilimanjaro. In 2017, I will make my way to Tanzania in Africa to climb the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. As I prepare for this feat, I had the chance to chat with Natalie Took of the travel blog Natpacker.com. On her site, Nat writes about the joys of backpacking around the world in an affordable way. Nat climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in 2015 and chronicled her experience. Recently, Nat spent some time talking to me on this Kilimanjaro podcast about all things Kilimanjaro. In this episode, hear about: Who is Nat of Natpacker.com What to pack for the long adventure When to hike the summit Where to store your electronics including cameras Why the guides and porters are amazing How much to tip at the end of the adventure …and more! As I am in the midst of readying myself to embark on this epic hike, I came across Natpacker.com. Natalie Took is a backpacking world traveler and the creator of Natpacker. She hiked Kilimanjaro in 2015 and then published a fairly comprehensive chronicle of her journey. I found Nat’s tips on how to prepare very helpful and enjoyed reading her journey. So I invited her to have a chat on the Kilimanjaro podcast! Nat was driven to hike Kilimanjaro, a bucket list experience for her. She and her now-husband Dave were about to celebrate their 10-year anniversary, so they wanted to do something spectacular for the occasion. Well, Kilimanjaro it was. And there on the mountain, after 4 long days of hiking and before reaching the summit, Dave proposed to Nat on their anniversary. Although, because of the altitude, the ring didn’t fit! I asked Nat why Kilimanjaro, and she said it was for the accomplishment and the spectacular views along the way. “You feel such sense of achievement,” said Nat. As for the views, they are 360-degrees and ever changing. From rainforests to cactus, from rocky boulders to glaciers, the transition of the earth along the path is “truly amazing”.
