IYFR Plastic Free Waters, Show 2, Europe, Middle East, Africa - Feb 4, 2021 - The EmeraldPlanet TV©

Full Title: "International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians (IYFR) and Operation Plastic Free Waters" - The EmeraldPlanet TV© Full Theme: “Operation Plastic Free Waters of IRFR in Europe, Middle East, and Africa; Guest: Comandante Sergio Santi, International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians (IYFR), Theme: “Operation Plastic Free Waters of IRFR in Europe, Middle East, and Africa; Overview: International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians (IYFR0 )was formed in 1947 in Great Britain, making it the oldest continuously active fellowship in Rotary. IYFR is also the largest of the fifty-eight worldwide Rotary fellowships, with approximately 138 active “fleets” and around 4,000 members in over 40 countries. Member fleets are located in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, the USA, among others. IYFR fleets are Rotary Fellowship groups composed of individual Rotarians from multiple Rotary clubs which may be located in several different Rotary Districts. The fact that IYFR fleet members come from many clubs broadens the STAR potential for those with an IYFR fleet relationship. The International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians combines an acceptance of the principles of Rotary with a love of boats and the sea, rivers and inland waters, and uses the shared interest of yachting and seamanship as an opportunity to encourage and foster the objectives of Rotary. IYFR objectives are: 1) Advancing international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideals of service; 2) Promoting Rotary fellowship through cruising, yachting, racing, sailing, kayaking and other activities involving boats and boating; 3) Promoting high standards of seamanship and abide by recognized yachting customs and etiquette on the water; and 4) Supporting Rotary service projects and opportunities, on and off the water. These objectives are conducive to cooperation between IYFR fleets and sail trainers wishing to build on the STAR relationship. .ABOUT THE STAR: The Star is one of the most prolific keelboats in the world for a reason: it is an incredible boat to sail. Designed in 1911 by Francis Sweisguth, it has proven to be a classic in every sense. It is the oldest Olympic class, having first been used in competition in 1932, and still at the heart of that competition today. Supported by a worldwide association the Star as a class is one of the best organized in sailing, with over 7,500 yachts built over its 80 year history, and 2000-plus actively racing today. The Star has evolved into the consummate craft for all ranges of competition and performance sailing: its equipment and rig is simple enough for the novice, yet versatile enough for those on the forefront of sailing. It's large, powerful sailplan, combined with a sleek hull and light weight, propel the boat in the faintest of airs, while the flexible spar can be tuned to "de-power" when the breeze kicks up. The large main is infinitely adjustable, allowing the sailor to completely control the driving surface of the sail. Boats today are generally constructed of fiberglass, with positive flotation and an integrated keel. The design, sails, and equipment of the Star are governed by stringent class rules, created to improve competition on the basis of skill and control cost . This has also served to help the longevity of the design, keeping older boats competitive through careful evolution. STAR: ART AND MACHINE

Colombia in Peace: Show '3' Panela--Sweet 21st Century Superfood! - Feb 12, 2020 - EmeraldPlanet TV©

Colombia in Peace: Show '3' Panela: Ancient Cane as a Sweet 21st Century Superfood! - Feb 12, 2020 - EmeraldPlanet TV© (Full Program Title: "Colombia in Peace: Economics, Environment, and Community Value", a.k.a., "Colombia in Peace: Graduating Colombians from Subsistence Farming to Economic Sustainability, Environmental Protection, and Community Resilience" - Feb 12, 2020 - EmeraldPlanet TV©} Guest: ·Show '3': Juan Pablo Gomez, CEO, Colfarmer, (In-Studio), Theme: "Panela: Ancient Cane as a Sweet 21st Century Superfood!" Overview: Colombia in Peace is comprised by a team of consultants and researchers interested in the development of Colombia who are designing a model of social and economic integration. We believe this great country has an important agricultural future which requires coordinated efforts, from different disciplines and sciences, to add value to its processes. This program seeks to cover several work fronts, from the gradual formalization and industrialization of the productive processes of the farmer – so that they have important income from viable and sustainable economic activities- to the training in leadership, human relations and social integration, for the insertion of their communities in the scope and benefits of 21st century technologies. We understand that social conflicts have their origin in the inequality of opportunities for the inhabitants of the country. This in conjunction with the deep and marked differences between the countryside and the city, generate complex conflicts that undermine the confidence and security of the community. Therefore, the intentions of Colombia in Peace are focused on integrating leaders from different national and international sectors. This, to consolidate efforts in the development of specific agro-industrial projects without any intention or political interference. On the contrary, the desire to serve unselfishly a nation that, like Colombia, deserves a new opportunity in history. Colfarmer is the social enterprise arm of an important initiative colombiainpeace.org). A non-profit that was created to promote and carry out programs focused on identifying natural origin food productions in Colombia. That will lead us to support the improvement of the production process and the trade for small farmers behind them, so they could be eligible to participate and receive programs’ for supporting them. Pursuing that these farmers can make a living away from illicit crops, so they can support their families by achieving and maintaining economic well-being, and having a better future instead of choosing to go back to live in a country at War. As a result, through the first 4 years of this endeavor, we have managed to impact 400 families by training them in new production practices of Panela made from Ancient Cane that meet international quality standards, that help them achieve increases on their incomes from US$600 - US$700/year to US$300/month. Panela has been essential to the diet of the Colombian people for the past five centuries because it is delicious and a good source of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and carbohydrates. It id a natural product free of additives and artificial ingredients which makes it the healthiest raw and organic sweetener derived from Ancient Cane. The Ancient Cane juice is extracted from the plant, filtered by hand, and boiled until it is dehydrated. This artisanal process allows the Panela to retain all the nutrients present in the Ancient Cane. Panela can be considered a Superfood since it is a wholefood with an outstanding nutritional value unlike other sweeteners that have nothing but empty calories. https://youtu.be/x3eDpxQTLEI

The first in the world which, once operational, creates continuous flow of 'new' water without having to draw down exiting sources of aquafers, ground watertables, surface water sources, or sea water.  The systems produce NO! Organic Sludge, Parasites', Hazardous Chemicals, Viruses, nor Bacteria through its  wastewater treatment systems.  Since 1990, Global has specialized in mobile, self-contained and fixed base water purification systems for disaster relief and military use. Global units have been deployed on five continents, including Kurdish refugee camps during Desert Storm, Rwanda, Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, the Philippines and Iraq. Global' s systems have been distributed to over 16 African nations during project ACRI under President Clinton and currently with Project ACOTA under President George W. Bush. Global's systems have provided pure drinking water immediately after hurricanes Andrew, Iniki, Opal, Fran, Georges and Mitch, the floods in Mexico, the earthquakes in Turkey, Japan and the U.S., and many other natural disasters.  In 1999 Global created its Wastewater Division, bringing together over thirty years of experience of “aerobic processing technologies” (from the oil and gas industry) and Global’s years of Recycling and Purification. Department of Energy and Environment realizes the various benefits of using renewable energy, homeowners can actually earn income from selling the home's excess renewable power to the local utility company.  The homeowners become a contributor to reducing greenhouse gasses (GHGs) emissions into the atmosphere while effectively helping to  slow, perhaps even reverse, long-term climate change.  City Renewables does all this based upon its absolute passion to install as many solar panels as possible within the District of Columbia to help District residents.    The company and its CEO are recognized for helping area residents of various socio-economic backgrounds, regardless of their home's location within the District, to gain full access to the numerous benefits of installing solar power.  Homeowners are assisted in taking advantage of the "Solar Renewable Energy Credits" (SRECs).  These are considered the best in the United States.  Such SRECs remain in high value at ~$400.00 per unit in the District due to the DOEE's aggressive initiatives in the most friendly renewable energy city in the country.  There are three primary financial benefits which allow homeowners to generate new income from installing their solar panels.  These are:  1) Eliminate electric bills for twenty-five [25] years; 2) Collect Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC); and 3) Cash in the SRECs versus buying the solar production system outright by taking full ownership from installation. Each option needs to be considered seriously with expert advice as to which situation is best for the homeowner.  .  City Renewables works closely with homeowners along with local community associations, communities of faith, homeowners associations, NGOs, and the various representatives of City Council to demonstrate how such homes go from a "cost center" to an "income center" earning a passive income stream. The typical city installation takes only five to six hours from home delivery of the panels to final clean-up of all debris with locally skilled installers leaving the premises. This process occurs once the solar energy system has been properly designed, fully discussed with the potential homeowner, best financial arrangements for the homeowner has been agreed upon, and all appropriate Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) requirements and submissions have been electronically entered by the installing company and approved.  A final on-site inspection must be completed and registered so the homeowners can enjoy their zero [-0-] based electricity bills.   EmeraldPlanet TV© is produced & directed by Dr. Sam Hancock, Executive Producer & Host. Initially named as Meteorological Institute (MI), it was established in 1846 while the first meteorological observations began in 1858. IERSD holds the longest and most complete climatological records in Greece, spanning a 150-yrs period. It constituted the first official Meteorological Service of Greece, operating almost all meteorological stations of the existing network until 1931, when the National Meteorological Service was founded. Besides climatic records, IERSD holds a historical record of atmospheric ozone data, monitored from 1900 to1940, which is unique for Southeastern Europe. Milestone to the evolution of the Institute was the study of atmospheric pollution, well before its evident appearance in Athens, through the systematic monitoring of classical pollutants with a network of six stations. . Portugal National Civil Engineering Laboratory LNEC was created in 1946 from two different institutions: a Laboratory for Testing and Study of Materials, active since 1898, which had a solid experimental side, and a Centre for Studies in Civil Engineering, a scientific research unit created in 1942 under the name of Centre for Studies in Applied Mechanics, whose founder and leader was Eng.º Manuel Rocha, one of the greatest names of Portuguese engineering of the twentieth century, was also and one of LNEC’s first Directors. Since its early days, LNEC has had in its genesis this double perspective - research and experimentation - that continues today, as one of its main characteristics and asset.. . .Built upon a culture of research and transfer of knowledge and technology, LNEC was, since the beginning, called out to assist on the pursuit of national objectives, such as the first public works programs, which began soon after World War II (dams, roads, fluvial and maritime hydraulics, large structures). About the same time, LNEC also began its activity around the world, supporting the development of the Portuguese Overseas provinces and carrying out studies and expert reports worldwide results by participation in dozens of international projects with other national and international institutions. Portugal and Greece: New Environment Addressing Wildfires Causes, Damages, and Solutions in Nature and Society

Every year in Southern Europe, Portuguese and Greek forests are subject to wildfires that destroy these and the associated ecosystems. In the last decade several Summer seasons were a dramatic period in Portugal, with more than 4258 km2 and 3391 km2; burned by wildfires respectively and another 4424 km2 burned twice in Região Centro with a forest area equivalent to twice the area of Luxembourg. Sixty-six [66] dead (65 civilians and 1 volunteer firefighter from Castanheira de Pera), 254 wounded (241 civilians, 12 firefighters and 1 guard soldier). In a similar way Greece also suffered from extensive wildfires, as the one in Attica peninsula near Athens that destroyed urban environments while causing extensive casualties. This set of four interviews with Portuguese and Greek experts aim to elucidate the natural and anthropogenic causes and related wildfires consequences to the affected societies and to the environments highlighting the degradation of water resources, both surface and ground waters, besides soil destruction.

Its proprietary "Integrated Water, Energy, & Air Management Program" provides sustainable “green-friendly” solutions through its most advanced technology. The company understands each site presents unique circumstances which must be assessed and treated accordingly. Comprehensive water treatment protocols and equipment are custom designed to meet the specific needs of each customer, application, and the uniqueness of each densely-built urban or rural communities location to meet and exceed U.S. EPA requirements and regulations. Flozone offers cost effective programs environmentally responsible with proven technology, the best control systems, and superior service. Benefits include, but are not limited to: !) Improving Heat transfer (reducing energy costs); 2) Maintaining clean systems (reduce maintenance costs); 3) Increasing cycles of concentration (adding years of useful service while reducing maintenance costs of all systems); 4) Biological control (eliminating Legionella and other biological viruses and bacteria risks); and 5) Eliminating harmful and hazardous chemicals (from condenser water) allowing effluent to be suitable for irrigation thus providing duel use water sources for green roof urban designed buildings and in agriculturally active rural settings. Years of research led Flozone to developing its own patented technology “QED” (Quantum ElectroDynamic) system of injecting electromagnetic photon energy directly into the fluid being treated. By actually touching the fluid, the full photon energy of the “E” and “H” fields of the electromagnet “RF” (Radio Frequency) signal is used. The Faraday Effect (induced coupling in the presence of electromagnetic fields) is also present using our “QED” system when the fluid is dynamic (moving) through a pipe or conduit. Our “QED” system uses both direct injection of photon energy of the electromagnetic fields and the Faraday Effect. Our patented “QED” Injection System allows us to use less ozone more efficiently, and has an effect on the formation of mineral crystals. “QED” provides an added measure of protection as it prevents mineral deposits from forming while safe cycles of concentration are maintained through 24/7 management of water quality.

Rain Gardens, Bayscaping, and Urban Forests: Supporting Nature to Heal the Planet

Rain Gardens, Bayscaping, and Urban Forests: Supporting Nature to Heal the Planet

Clean water is essential for human, animal, plant, and microorganisms life, for commerce and industry, and for recreation.Wonders of converting stormwater pollution into 'new' water creation is a miracle in the midst of destructive 21st Century climate change.  Rainwater becomes stormwater when it falls on impervious surfaces such as rooftops, driveways, roads, sidewalks and even lawns, where it is unable to soak into the ground. As stormwater moves from our yards, parking spaces, walkways, vegetable and ornamental gardens, or grass lawns to our streams, ponds, rivers, and lakes.  Such uncontrolled water runoff picks up all manner of pollutants such as oil and grease, plastic bags, harmful nutrients from fertilizers, poisonous insecticides and pesticides, bacteria from pet waste and other animal excrement, and various pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and helminths. Pathogens are infectious microorganisms, germs, or biological agents that cause infectious diseases or illnesses in the human host.

Once in flowing water, the fast-moving surges of water associated with increasingly violent storm events cause erosion and destroy habitat for fish and other wildlife. This program and its four Shows are to engage, educate, and train you, the viewer and listener of our Podcast, on how to reduce stormwater pollution, damage, and negative impacts on land, water, and air resources.  This all-natural form of stormwater capture, processing, sequester, and usage not only processes excessive amounts of water but also captures atmospheric carbon and further enhances environmental quality in local communities.  The "Vision" and "Goal" of our EmeraldPlanet International Foundation© and The EmeraldPlanet TV© are to lead the effort to create at least one billion [1,000,000,000] Rain & Bayscaping Gardens across the planet so when satellites are featuring images of earth from inner and outer space the planet looks 'green' as well as 'blue' showing balance of nature for all living creatures.

The EmeraldPlanet© fosters a sustainable, resilient, and innovative future for Mother Earth and all her beings. We envision Spaceship Earth to be in harmony while supporting equitable, diverse, and inclusive global development. A Rain Garden is a landscaped area that is strategically placed and connected to a downspout to collect and absorb stormwater from your rooftop. Directing the downspout to the rain garden allows stormwater to flow away from your home’s foundation and holds it in the garden area until it can naturally absorb into the ground. The rain garden dips slightly into the ground and has soil that is modified to increase infiltration. In addition to improving drainage, rain gardens also help keep polluted stormwater out of local streams while acting as atmospheric carbon sumps. Rain gardens are designed to be site-specific. Native plants have deeper root systems that absorb more stormwater, reduce erosion, increase infiltration, and are more drought tolerant than turf grass or ornamental species. BayScaping also provides beneficial habitat for pollinators like butterflies and honey bees. BayScaping is practical nearly anywhere in your yard, but is preferred on slopes or in eroded areas where dirt, bare soil, and/or invasive plants could be replaced by native plants. Urban Forests, i.e., urban tree canopies (UTC) provide many practical benefits, such as: improvement of air quality, moderation of temperature, filtration and reduction of storm water runoff, increased property value, reduction of crime, improved visual aesthetics, and mitigation of health problems. Inadequate tree cover disproportionately impacts communities of color and socioeconomically disadvantaged neighborhoods. Tree equity initiatives are environmental justice initiatives. It is widely accepted that trees are essential for well-being and for the livability of cities. As the earth's climate systems change, the frequency and duration of heat waves consistently increased during the last 100+ years and are expected to further intensify (Temple, 2020). Local governments are on the front line of efforts to address rising temperatures and the public health burdens they impose. A critical method to build climate resiliency is to plant trees, as their shade creates cooling conditions among other benefits. As such, many local governments have invested millions of dollars to plant and maintain Urban Tree Canopies (UTC; Yurk, 2020).

By “re-inventing the wheel,” Global was able to develop a wastewater system that doubled the processing speed of the industry leaders of the time; recycled all suspended solids down to 1-Microns; truly eliminating all organic sludge, parasites', hazardous chemicals, viruses, nor bacteria thus purifying the effluent to exceed current WHO (World Health Organization) and United Nations potable water standards. Global systems have been proven in industrial use, for recycling, for cleaner processing, for healthful wastewater effluent and for providing safe drinking water for employees in higher risk areas. Full Title: "International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians (IYFR) and Plastic Free Waters" - The EmeraldPlanet TV© Full Theme: “History, Purpose; Vision; & Impacts of International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians" (IYFR) Guest: Comandante Sergio Santi, International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians (IYFR), Theme: “History, Purpose; Vision; & Impacts; of International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians (IYFR) Overview: International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians (IYFR0 )was formed in 1947 in Great Britain, making it the oldest continuously active fellowship in Rotary.

Theme: "Future of Solar Energy in the District of Columbia...and the U.S."Full Program Title: "Eliminate Power Bills; Solar Energy; Green Jobs; Protecting the Environment" Guest: Show '4': Benjamin Colbert, Founder & CEO, City Renewables, Theme: "Future of Solar Energy in the District of Columbia...and the U.S."Overview:City Renewables under the leadership of CEO Benjamin (Ben) Colbert is dedicated to eliminating homeowners' power bills. Not only is the company collaborating with the D.C. Each option needs to be considered seriously with expert advice as to which situation is best for the homeowner. .City Renewables works closely with homeowners along with local community associations, communities of faith, homeowners associations, NGOs, and the various representatives of City Council to demonstrate how such homes go from a "cost center" to an "income center" earning a passive income stream. EmeraldPlanet TV© Executive Producer & Host by Dr. Sam Hancock.
