86. I sing to my love, with Keysel

Meet Keysel, singer/songwriter with a multi-instrumental tendency, human connection facilitator, medicine & folk musician, visual artist, model, and poet.

In this interview we speak about surrender, the circle of truth and singing and songwriting in moments of pain and solitude.

Originally born in the seaside town of Barahona, Dominican Republic, you’ll find the landscape of his music just as varied as the folk influences of lands he’s walked, weaving through melody, rhythm, and sound to produce a colorful sonic tapestry that pays ode to beauty, nature, and the human condition.

He is deeply influenced by a belief that everyone has a song and that music has the inexplicable power to heal the mind, body, and soul.

He is guided by the lessons of his teachers, and ultimately hopes to spread compassion and joy through his art, helping individuals discover a life lived in greater authenticity, unity, and purpose.

You can come check him out performing on April 21st at 4 p.m. at the Manuel Artime Theater in Miami. We spoke about drumming to birth, our heartbeats and any transformations you're going through in life. Ancient Egyptian wisdom and how to embrace a higher calling from within and from our ancestors.

Katie plays a “world drum set” anchored in by the West African djembe drum, bongos, kpanlogo and bata drums. She adds the flavors of the marimba, banjo, native flute, kalimba, and her voice to weave together soundscapes infused with powerful rhythm and song.

78. “Your soul is sacred, your experience is sacred," with Vanessa Spiva (ENG)

“My whole life, when I unpack it, I don't have any shame around it. It’s so juicy and good.”

After working in local politics, being high-functioning and on drugs, to landing in the sex industry for ten years, Vannessa Spiva, now runs her own company, Sacred Souls. It’s an Alternative & Holistic Health Service where she supports and guides conscious leaders to emotionally heal and expand into their highest purpose through Energetic & subconscious modalities.

Some of my favorite moments speaking to Vanessa that I think you'll enjoy:

“I stumbled across a craigslist ad that said massages, and I thought “oh cool,” I can give massages…When I showed up it was a whole different story.”

“I remember being in the strip club one night, and I was one of the top girls there and I don’t brag about that...It was stressful and I was people pleasing on another level…and I realized I had hit rock bottom.”

“Our life experiences are sacred…we’re all sacred souls and we’re just coming back to that sacredness one day at a time.”

“Anything we experience in our life physically, starts in our energy field…and energetics have the highest impact in our subconscious.”

“When the pain of staying the same is more than the pain of changing, we go for it…I have nothing to lose and I’m tired of it.”

“Me today as a 36 year old, I am thanking younger Vannessa for launching herself into so much growth without knowing.”

She also launched her own podcast: Sacred Souls

76. Connecting people with their [true] food with Nat Kelley (ENG)

“The globalized food system is what’s causing us to be so sick…We can’t change this individually and we can start with individual change.” Nathalie Kelley’s mission is to connect people with a true and pure source of food. The Peruvian-Australian actress known for her role as Neela in the 2006 action film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and for her roles in various television series including The Vampire Diaries, Dynasty and The Baker and the Beauty, is here to remind us of the importance of reclaiming wisdom through our locally sourced foods, indigenous tribes, wisdom keepers of the forest and sacred plants. One way to do this is to “buy local and from local farmers to bypass the globalized food system and ensure the farmers receive 100% of the proceeds…Right now, toxins that are killing the bugs are eventually making it to us…and bigger isn’t better when it comes to food.” Another way to start is to grow a garden in your backyard, create a community garden or nurture plants at home. We also spoke about the future of Indigenous tribes and BILL PL2903 which was threatening the rights of Indigenous tribes to own their their lands in Brazil.

Update: This interview was pre-recorded and post-recording; on September 27th, the Federal Supreme Court of Brazil reached a decision on Bill PL 2903 ruling in favor of indigenous tribes. Another 12 conditions were ruled in favor of the wisdom keepers, some of them include compensation for the exploitation of their natural assets amongst other benefits.

Honoring the past and securing the future.

In October 2020 Emiliana Molina was invited to give a speech to the Navy Region Southwest (California, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Utah).

In this speech she speaks about:

Doing journalism for the good of humankind.

Voicing your truth from your heart.

Emiliana shares some of her vulnerabilities to let you know you're not alone in your journey to leave behind all self-sabotaging behaviors and embracing your self love.

The times she didn't feel like she was enough even though she was at the highest point in her career.

The times she didn't believe in herself and used to measure her self worth through external validation.

Doing conscious journalism.

Being true to your heart.

Past, present and future. Honoring your past, enjoying your present and planing big dreams for your future.

The importance of diversity and celebrating our hispanic heritage and our roots.

Honoring our ancestors and where we come from.

Truth, transparency and accountability.

74. Your voice is medicine with Ala Hayhurst (ENG)

74. Your voice is medicine with Ala Hayhurst (ENG)

The exploration of your voice is medicine: listen to Alas song Cantik Mariposa at the end of the interview.

After finding herself homeless, Ala Hayhurst, now a soulful musician, awakened in 2021 to a higher calling discovering her true voice as a vessel for deep prayers that transcend linguistic boundaries and heal the soul through verses of love, joy, gratitude and liberation.

In this interview we talk about:

"Being a person is innate and to be a human being is something that we have to practice daily in our actions...Asking ourselves and learning daily what our human needs?"

How can we get to know ourselves more intimately through life experiences, the power of music and our own voice?

As humans, our voice carries a frequency that's essential for our own personal growth and it can bring forth medicine for others as well.

It's our responsibility to exercise our voice and we can ALL learn how to sing.

Ala's music is rooted in the traditions of medicine music, embracing the spiritual essence of country, folk, rock, and blues.

Hear her song "Cantik Mariposa," a soulful ode to butterflies. It will invite you to deep introspection as butterflies do before they trust in their wings to fly.

You can also listen to her song Resilience on Spotify and all platforms.

I love you, Mariposa.

¿Estás dispuesto a ir adentro a sanar esa energía?

👩🏻Vicky Nguyen, was in the news industry for a decade working as a crime reporter, investigative reporter, enterprise storyteller, field producer and more. She did it all, a skill us journalists know well. In march 2022 she decided to quit the news industry, like many of us have chosen to do in the last two years.

📺During her time at one of the news stations, as she was getting ready to re-negotiate her contract, she had a conversation with a colleague –whom she’s friends with– and they realized this person was earning $27,000 more doing the same job as her and taking on less responsibilities than she was. For example, this person was not doing live shots and Vicky was.

📹Vicky was the vice president of the LA chapter of AAJA (Asian American Journalist Association), Before leaving news, Vicky earned the Best Television News Reporting award issued by Radio & Television News Association of Southern California, and she earned an Emmy award for the Best Evening Newscast in 2015.

We will be talking about Igor’s spiritual awakening and this:
