EJE | Death of Self
If you feel like you're dying...
maybe you are. And maybe, it's not such a bad thing.
In this episode, lean into dying to who you are today so that you can be re-born into your Next Level Self.
Leveling up, growth-- it's what we all want, but it's uncomfortable and scary AF. That's because in order to grow into that next level, we can't bring who we are today. We must die to our current Self in order to become our future Self.
So, if like me, you've been feeling the whole gambit of emotions: fear, anxiety, doubt, anger, sadness, but also excitement and intrigue-- maybe... you're dying. And maybe this "death of self" is a good thing.

- leg shaving
- candle burning
- date night
- homemade margs
- gift cards
In this episode, I'm inviting you to make TODAY a special occasion. YEP! Today! Do that thing. Make it special. We don't need a reason! Life is short. Why save the living for a "special" occasion?
PLEASE rate + review the podcast!! It helps me grow, and growth helps my business, which helps keep a roof over my head :)

EJE | Take Care Of Yourself
"I'm more myself when I take care of myself."
In this episode:
- why it's important to take care of yourself
Women are notorious for putting themselves second (or even dead last) but it does no one any favors.
"You" is a watering hole for so many people around you. We are counting on YOU to show up! We want YOU, need YOU. Please, show up. And please, take care of yourself.
Introducing.... Emily Jordan Energy

036 | GUEST: Anna Toole & Amy Peduto on The Role of Martial Arts in Women's Confidence
After MUCH anticipation (& some COVID curveballs) I am PUMPED to get this episode out to you guys!
Anna + Amy are competitive Muay Thai fighters and coaches at a local Muay Thai & boxing gym here in Charleston (Charleston Muay Thai & Boxing.)
In this episode, we talk about:
- how martial arts increased their own confidence
- why they believe all women can benefit from martial arts training
- how they handle body changes + sport-related dieting
- what Muay Thai has taught them about life & how they use the skills from the gym in the real world
- how the sport works
- how to get involved!
You can follow their gym on instagram @charleston_muay_thai or find them online and view their class schedule/learn more here: www.chasmuaythaiandboxing.com.
The owner of CMTB, Jeff Grady, was a guest on the show back in May of 2019! It was really cool to hear how he got started in Muay Thai and how he came to open the gym. Check his episode out here.
You can find Anna here & Amy here. (I personally love following them "in real life" as a reminder that while they are "fighters," they are also normal, everyday women too. ;) )

035 | Guest: CAPRISHA RICHARDS on Gut Health, Femininity & Self-Discovery
After a brief hiatus to regroup and refocus on what I want this podcast to be about, WE. ARE. BACK!
And we're back WITH A BANG- Caprisha Richards, Holistic Wellness Expert, my b-day twin, and all around high-vibin' soul sister who has done some serious inner work that I can't wait for you to listen to in this episode!
In addition to learning about Caprisha's personal experiences, here's what else we cover in this episode:
- how self-healing/transformation really works
- a powerful exercise that changed her life
- being feminine in a masculine society
- screaming out loud alone in your car
- what are "gut health issues"
- why you can be eating “healthy” but still feel bad
- cycle phases
- movement for health
Caprisha also shares how you can tell if what you're experiencing is "normal" or a sign of something deeper going on.
She leaves us with one big piece of powerful advice and she asks ME a big question at the end of the episode, too!
Find her on instagram @caprivanaa to tune into her stories and sneak some beautiful (and educational!) pics from her home in the US Virgin Islands.

034 | The First Meeting I Have With Every New Client
In this episode, I'm taking you through my initial consultation process that I have with every new client because:
1) it's not your typical consultation
2) I think it could really help you on your own health + fitness journey as we kick off 2020!
Just imagine we're working together-- these are the questions I would ask you, not only to help me build a game plan for your training program, but also to help YOU think about your health + fitness in a meaningful, impactful way.

- how to not repeat the same mistakes (& end up right back where you started)
- finding a training routine you LIKE, that also works!
- tough questions you might not expect your trainer to ask
- why I believe in lifting heavy regardless of your goals
- how I build my programming around one thing: happiness

033 | INTERVIEW EPISODE: Motherhood, Friendship & Vulnerability with Sam Morris
One of the coolest interviews I've ever done-- not just because it's with one of my best friends, Sam Morris-- but because of the depth & vastness of the conversation. THIS IS NOT just an episode for moms. We talk about SO MUCH more, and I know any female will resonate with so much of what we say.
In this episode, we cover:
- life as a new mom- the stuff you don't post on instagram
- navigating life as a friend of a new mom- how to support, what to say & what new moms need
- miscarriage & post-partum anxiety
- how your college major isn't always your "career path"
- switching from a day job to full-time entrepreneur
- confidence, health & true happiness when you're a "bigger" girl
I love this episode because there’s a lot of stuff here I don't personally identify with (because I can’t) but we talk about what it looks like to be there for someone even when you don't understand. I'm also excited to bring a perspective different than my own and connect with women who may not resonate with me personally. I have no doubt any woman who listens will be able to find herself in this episode and say "Me too. I've been there."
Sam is a natural when it comes to sharing heavy stuff in a relatable and open way. Come laugh with us, learn with us, and get real with us.

! EPISODE 29 TEASER !
Check out this quick preview clip with snippets from the full episode, episode 29.
- What is body image?
- Why does it matter?
- Why do I feel so strongly about this?
029: How Our Body Image Impacts Our Entire Lives a.k.a What I Do & Why
How you feel about the way you look is probably more important than you realize.
As a women's body image coach + personal trainer, I believe how we think about our bodies & our appearance actually impacts our whole lives, and I don't think we talk about this enough.
In this solo episode, I get into:
- what the heck "body image" even is
- why I feel so strongly about addressing it
- what I want every man to take away from this conversation
- why I sometimes feel guilty for my work
- how feeling poorly about your body causes you to suffer in every arena of your life
- why caring about how you look is not superficial at all
I'm super passionate about what I do, but I think it can get misconstrued and misunderstood. I wanted to sit down and talk through my beliefs around body image + confidence and why I think it's absolutely critical that we--women in particular-- devote time, energy + resources to developing a positive relationship with our appearance.
This episode is NOT just for women. My hope is that men will listen to this and that women will share it with the men in their lives so we can all start talking about how our body image and the way we think we look is influencing us every single day in everything we do.

028: Everything Comes Full Circle: My Work, Your Body + Why It Matters
Another quick, "spoken-poetry-style" episode where I express how all of the weird, random things in my life have seemed to come full circle and lead me to the work I do today.
In this episode, I'm reading an original writing explaining my work and why I believe it matters. I talk about why I'm so passionate about body image + why I think the way we think about our bodies is such a big deal.
This episode feels inspirational, uplifting, powerful and so special to me because it has been a long time coming for things to "make sense" in small, odd ways.
Give this episode a listen & stay tuned for the next one where I talk a little more freely and less poetically about why I'm so passionate about my message.

027: You Are Exactly Where You're Supposed To Be.
YOU ARE EXACTLY WHERE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE.
You know those times you wonder,
"Why is this happening to me?"
"Why can't I just figure it out?"
"When is this going to be over?"
"Why can't I just have the answer?"
--this is for those times.
Close your eyes, press play, and know that you are exactly where you're supposed to be.
