004: Overcoming Trauma with Movement!
At Empowered RX we believe in the transformative power of weightlifting and movement in the healing of trauma. Human beings have an amazing capacity to overcome adversity. Sometimes memories, tension and emotional pain get "stuck" in the body. When talk therapy and conversation complicates or can't alleviate discomfort, we believe that movement can be prescribed to help work through hardship and to help re-create embodiment. This short introduction to this idea will launch us into a mini-wellness series that focuses on : - Sleep - Weightlifting - Mindset - Social Connection - Nutrition - HIIT - Cardio as interventions to alleviating stress and the feeling of being "stuck".
