Ven from Evernoir - Chats with the Freak

linktr.ee/Evernoir. Evernoir is an original Alternative Metal band from Eau Claire, WI. Original members Venerate Miercy and Vic Wiley formed the group in 2016, later joined by Trevor Wendt, James Mattson, and Jimmy Booth. They are signed with DI Records.

The members have united under a history of depression, and have chosen to take a stand for the wounded and fallen. Their lyrics focus around abuse and suicide awareness; they aim to encourage listeners to keep fighting and seek help. Music was a refuge for each member during their own struggles, and they want their listeners, dubbed “Noirbirds,” to know they are not alone and that there is hope.

Bourbon House- Chats with the Freak

Bourbon House- Chats with the Freak

Bourbon House was founded by guitarist Jason Clark and vocalist Lacey Crowe in 2017.

Upon the release of their self-titled EP, the single "Music in Your Bones" attracted the attention of disk jockeys around the world and received airplay on independent radio in more than a dozen countries and by the summer of 2018 they released their second album, Wild Abandon. The album spawned the fan favorites "Burn Them Bones," "Drown it in Whiskey," and "Jailer."

From the fall of 2018 through the following year, the band welcomed Ryan Sargent as their official drummer, played across the American Midwest, and began recording singles which would ultimately comprise their third album.

Bourbon House have been featured twice in Classic Rock Magazine, once for "Too High to Care," which was nominated for Track of the Week, and another time for "Devil on my Heels," which earned them a Track of the Week win and a spot on the magazine's covermount CD as well as a shout-out from Eddie Trunk on the program Trunk Nation. The success of "Devil on My Heels" continued as it reached #1 on the independent charts in Australia and #2 in the UK.

In early 2020, they played a show in Nashville, TN, to benefit tornado victims, but had to cancel plans to tour the eastern states due to the pandemic. The band used the down time to shoot music videos for "Too High to Care" and "6000 Miles," and finish writing and recording what would be their third album.

After landing a slot on the Blind Anxiety Entertainment roster, Bourbon House headlined their first tour of 25 dates through the southern United States in the spring of 2021. Within the following three months, Bourbon House released the single "Dead in the Water" along with an official music video and signed a management deal with Paul Crosby Management. "Dead in the Water" became a new fan favorite and is their first single to reach active rock radio, charting at 50 on BDS Indicator and 22 on the Foundations chart. In October of 2021, the band released their third album, Into the Red, on PACgroove Records with distribution through VON Artists Ltd. and The Orchard (Sony) which features the singles from the past two years and six previously unreleased tracks, including "I Got Trouble" for which they released their latest music video.

Plans for 2022 include touring far and wide and another full-length album of original material.

Dash and Cory of CO-OP : Chats with the Freak

No strangers to performance, CO-OP brings a big, powerful sound to their show. Forming in 2014, CO-OP began gathering a small following in the local Phoenix scene. Within a few years, having shared a stage with rock legends like Motley Crue, The Hollywood Vampires and Alice Cooper, CO-OP is expanding their influence beyond Arizona and even outside the United States.

Founder and frontman Dash Cooper’s powerful vocals mix a classic rock undertone with the strength and grit of modern rock, while guitar player Jeremy Tabor introduces heavy riffs mixed with melodic hooks that keep the music powerful and interesting. Justin Swartzentruber (bass) and Cory Michalski (drums) hold down the foundation.

Scott Phillips current drummer of the band Alter Bridge, set to drop Walk the Sky 2.0 November 6th 2020. Since the band announced the cancellation of their entire 2020 touring schedule, Alter Bridge has taken time to do what they are known best for – creating. Never a band to take a lot of personal time off, the band reviewed live recordings from their shows in January/February 2020 to pick a few of their live favorites of songs from their latest album Walk The Sky. This led bandmembers Myles Kennedy, Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips to begin sharing ideas for a new studio song. Those collective ideas would yield a new, original song entitled “Last Rites” – a track written, recorded and completed entirely during the Covid-19 lockdown. The final version of “Last Rites”, along with live versions of “Wouldn’t You Rather,” “Pay No Mind,” “Native Son,” “Godspeed,” “In the Deep” and “Dying Light”, will form the new 7-song EP, Walk The Sky 2.0.

Ken Jay Static X- Chats with the Freak

https://static-x.org/

Static-X is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1994. The line-up has fluctuated over the years, but was long-held constant with band founder, frontman, vocalist, and guitarist Wayne Static until 2014.

The band was founded by Wayne Static and original drummer Ken Jay. They rose to fame with their 1999 debut album Wisconsin Death Trip where their heavy industrial metal sound attracted attention within the burgeoning nu metal movement of the late 1990s, with the album eventually going platinum in the United States. The band released five more albums over the course of the next decade: Machine in 2001, Shadow Zone in 2003, Start a War in 2005, Cannibal in 2007, and Cult of Static in 2009.

The band entered a hiatus while Static worked on his solo album, Pighammer, in 2011. Static briefly reformed Static-X in 2012, using only members of his solo album's touring band, before officially breaking up in June 2013. On November 1, 2014, Wayne Static died at the age of 48.

The rest of the original Static-X lineup – bassist Tony Campos, guitarist Koichi Fukuda and drummer Ken Jay – announced on October 23, 2018 that they were reforming the band in Static's honor, and would release Project Regeneration, their first studio album in eleven years, in 2020.

Abi Rose Kelly- Chats with the Freak

Abi Rose Kelly- Chats with the Freak

Following the roaring success of her debut release ‘James’ corsa’, Abi Rose Kelly has today (Friday 17th April) released her second single ‘Polaroids & Violence’. The second single from Abi Rose Kelly has been a hotly anticipated one, after ‘James’ corsa’ racked up 60,000 listens on her Spotify after seemingly coming out of the unknown. With the release of ‘Polaroids & Violence’, Warrington based Abi has firmly made her mark on the indie music scene, crystallising an incredibly accomplished sound for a musician so new. ‘Polaroids & Violence’ opens with a slacker grunge vibe, before the hammering drums knock you to attention. Abi’s vocals switch from having a sultry, breathless swagger to a rasping growl, almost as if Lana Del Rey was fronting a rock n roll band, and the change in tempo for the chorus almost catches you out for a moment before firmly pulling you back in. Recorded at The Lounge in Wigan with producer Gareth Nuttall (The Lottery Winners, The K’s, The A.V. Club), ‘Polaroids & Violence’ was written in two very different parts of Abi’s life. Telling the story of how silly mistakes can sometimes turn out to work in your favour, the basis of the song reflects a time of feeling angry at herself for getting so caught up at a party, and another time when she saw her friends struggling at the beginning of a relationship.  Abi’s current following is a testament to her immediate success, with her debut headline gig at Warrington’s 200 capacity Lounge selling out well before the night.    Find Abi at the following places: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/abirosekellymusic/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/abirosekelly Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/abirosekelly/ Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/3K9fu0H0EZDRjNg9TKXWQ6?si=ShijTgvkQ0uMK207UNUPLQ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn1DBnbEqGeHGh4bSLyMNcw Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-897454090 An interview with Abi Rose Kelly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UXw7JMMSA4‘Killer Waitress’ live session: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htu3kUfiZjA

The Rock and Roll band Little King was formed in November of 1996 by guitarist/singer/songwriter Ryan Rosoff in El Paso, Texas. Rosoff had cut his teeth as the guitar player in the seminal eclectic rock group Tweed Quickly (where he met future Little King bassist Shannon Brady). After a year in that band, he had written enough of his own songs to try his hand at recording and producing a record. Rosoff named the new group Little King (a translation of the name "Ryan" in Gaelic). Featuring bassist Mike Esparza and drummer Alex Lizarazo, the trio played a few shows locally and regionally in the next four months while preparing to enter the studio. Little King's first demo CD, titled Transmountain, was released in El Paso in May on 1997. The group continued to tour and promote the CD, which sold about 800 copies in and around the Southwest.

Shawn of American Dream Machine and Rabid Flesh Eaters- Chats with the Freak

Rabid Flesh Eaters- After over 30 years of a brotherhood founded on the searing fire of classic metal bands like Black

Sabbath, Motörhead, Slayer, and Rigor Mortis, the aggressive foaming at the mouth sonic assault of

the R.F.E. is more relentless than ever.

R.F.E.’s eight vicious new tracks are stronger and achieve heavier, faster heights than anything they’ve

released before. With developed dynamics, extreme tightness, and a heart pounding impact this band has

clearly evolved since their last album, 2016’s Reign of Terror. Beyond setting new standards for today’s

speed metal genre, this record is a visceral homage to their longtime friends, Texas metal legends Rigor

Mortis - drummer Harden Harrison, bassist Casey Orr, and their fallen brothers, guitarist Mike Scaccia

(1965-2012) and vocalist Bruce Corbitt (1962-2019).

UltraViolent, Dancing With Ghosts and Shatter Brain- Chats with the Freak

UltraViolent, Dancing With Ghosts and Shatter Brain- Chats with the Freak

Shatter Brain are an Adelaide based metal band comprised of members of some of South Australia’s most successful heavy bands. The band draws together an eclectic but coherent range of influences, seamlessly blending fast, razor-tight rhythms with laid back grooves, and boasting diverse vocals that move from ear-piercing highs to sewer-dwelling lows.  https://www.shatterbrainmetal.com/

UltraViolent is a four-piece metal band based out of Pine Grove, Pennsylvania.

Formed in September 2014, UltraViolent had a goal in mind to create music they love and share their message with the world as young upcoming artists. UltraViolent started out by performing covers locally to earn the respect of their small hometown. Once UltraViolent knew their direction was taking a more original and heavier turn, they decided to play in cities that catered more to their style of music. In 2016 the band recorded, mixed, and mastered their first EP, “Five”, all by themselves at the age of 16. The band then branched out into cities such as Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Reading to perform their original music. Eventually they were to expand to the surrounding states to perform their captivating live show. By earning the respect of fans with explosive performances and anthem-like riffs, UltraViolent was a name that quickly became recognizable throughout their local scene. In late 2018 the band released their first music video for the song “Insult to Injury”, the first single from their full length release, “Eviction”. The video gathered over 32k views and 200 shares on Facebook within two weeks. UltraViolent followed up their hit with a lyric video for the next single from Eviction, “Hay in the Needlestack (feat. Merritt Frownfelter)”, their first release of 2019. This video gathered over 15k views on Facebook. UltraViolent released their debut album “Eviction” on June 20th, 2019. Eviction is a concept album that describes the timeline between the inception of humanity, our current state of society, and its inevitable end, ultimately done by our own hand.

-

In 2017, upon the release of Dancing with Ghosts' first full link release "Koyaanisqatsi", Stephanie Conner, enthralled with the sound, joined the band, playing keyboard and vocals.

Stephanie contributed her vocal talents on the band's second album "The Nightmare Inside You", which was released in March of 2018. Anna Achimowicz- Chats with the Freak

Anna Achimowicz- Chats with the Freak

Rock Dance Theatre© was created over night, impulsively by Anna Achimowicz, active on stage since 2004 working originally as a solo project first, then during 2011-2016 as Companie Achimowicz, and currently as RDT uniformly starting in 2016, before it was officially named in 2017. After nearly 20 years in the performance and dance theatre field, dance wasn't just enough any more, fashion had to be louder and more expressive than I used before, my body started wanting to be a musician. Rock n Roll found me, not the other way around, I picked up a guitar, started using it on stage, interacted with musicians, choreography came out of using the instruments. Later came drums and percussion, bass guitar. RDT was born out of a will to connect and mix something that was never combined in that way before. t's the fusion of contemporary dance, live guitar music and very visual fashion and styling. A stage language of its own. Since then RDT did tours 2017 “Tribute to Rock n Roll”, "On Edge", "Strings n Veins" and "Tribute to Rock n Roll" presented in Europe and supported by Eric Dover (USA) as an honorary RDT patron, co-directed and choreographed music videos “Temptations”, “Satiric Tango”, “Crystal Meth Pie”, performed together with Stagman ( Sweden), made a debut to Ryan Roxies “The Uh-Oh Song” premiering in Europe off his solo album.

Annas shows and project are interactive, experimental and bring multiple arts on stage together, the post apocalyptic side of RDT created “Fire and Blood”, “Steam, Drums n Dance”, “Esfinge de la Muerte” presented in Spain, Sweden and Poland. Rock Dance Theatre is also a part of Cult of Chrome, and international association for post apocalyptic artists. RDT strongly works in cooperation with artists from the musical milieu, theatre or even film strongly promoting Rock and Metal in various circles thru fields of expressions like: workshops, appearances, jam sessions, photo shoots, podcasts. In Rock Dance Theatre it’s all Rock. Anna is currently working on new projects for 2020/21 “Without You Tour” as well as “Constant Rock Flow” workshop series planned to tour across Europe.

DEMATUS -Chats with the Freak

DEMATUS -Chats with the Freak

Dematus is a three piece melodic metal band hailing originally from Rolla, Missouri. Over the years the band has played numerous shows ranging from backyard parties to festivals from all over the country even taking part in charity events and has had extensive airplay. Now currently located in Pittsburgh they have shared the stage with Otep, Chimaira, Soulfly, Mushroomhead, Bleed The Sky, Oceano, New Year's Day, Stolen Babies, iWrestledabearonce, Soilwork, Devil You Know, and many more. It has been said that the band could best be described as Evanescence and System of a Down's illegitimate child.

Passionate about stunning the crowd with her abilities and talents the band is fronted by Jessica, a wide ranging, screaming and operatic stylist. Jessica also plays lead and rhythm guitar reminiscent and inspired by the likes of 80's guitarists Randy Rhoads and Dave Mustaine, along with current guitar virtuoso John 5. In addition Jessica is classically trained flutist and is a lyricist and composer for the band. She has won several awards including The John Phillips Sousa Award and The Marine Semper Fidelis Award.

On the drums, Ryan keeps the band in step with his fierce beats and is a born metronome. Although he had received classical and jazz training in his youth, Ryan's more dominant and ferocious side took over in his teens pulling him into the metal music. Able to read music, play the xylophone, timpani, and percussion instruments, he has been a long time band section leader. His talents being likened to, and inspired by, some of the all time greats such as Terry Bozzio, Carter Beauford, Neil Purt, Will Hunt, and many more.

Self taught bassist, Brian, is undoubtedly the heartbeat and high energy source of the band. Having a natural ear for music, one would definitely call him a raw, yet polished, talent. As Brian would say, he doesn't play under the influence of other musicians. His goal, as a musician, is to simply reach beyond his know talents while striving to find new levels.

Alora of VERY ALORA- Chats with the Freak

Alora of VERY ALORA- Chats with the Freak

There is a strong female voice on the rock horizon, and she goes by the name Very Alora. As evidenced by the release of her debut single, “Don’t Make Me,”(http://bit.ly/MamaDontMakeMe) and a forthcoming EP - all produced by legendary producer Michael Wagner (who has previously worked with the likes of Metallica, Dokken, and King’s X, among many others) - Very Alora means business. And what would you do if you saw a mashup video of Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” + “Seven Nation Army” from White Stripes from a wicked cool looking rock chick? Answer: you press PLAY! Here’s the approved mashup link: youtu.be/VSuM8ndKmEQ

Hailing from Poetry, Texas (a small ranching community southeast of Dallas), Very Alora describes her sound as “Classic rock with a modern/punkish/alt twist. I think it’s a little out there, a bit unique if you compare it to the pop sound. But as far as rock n’ roll - I think it fits right in that alt/indie rock pocket.” Listing such classic rockers as Styx and Heart as influences, as well as such modern day bands as Flyleaf and Paramore, Very Alora has her favorites from the forthcoming, yet-to-be-titled EP. “‘Don't Make Me’ and ‘Carbon Copy Jealousy.

Jake from Watch Me Breathe - Chats with the Freak

Jake from Watch Me Breathe - Chats with the Freak

From the very beginning, Watch Me Breathe has been all about honesty and authenticity. Lead singer Jake Aaron Ward formed the band in 2017 purely out of frustration. “As a solo artist, I just got fed up with trying to write music only to please other people. Watch Me Breathe is really an experiment that says: what would I write if nobody else was listening?”
The results of that experiment have been surprising. In the short time since the release of their debut LP “The Lighter Side of Darkness” in February 2018, Watch Me Breathe has already accrued well over 150K views on YouTube and over 50K streams on Spotify…and the numbers keep growing.

When it comes to making albums, this particular band has an unusual process not unlike that of Tame Impala or Bon Iver: Ward (a proficient multi-instrumentalist) writes, performs, records, mixes, and masters every song entirely by himself, in his own California home studio. He jokingly explains “I just kind of suck at collaborating.” He cites an eclectic range of influences, including Peter Gabriel, The Police, Imogen Heap, Goo Goo Dolls, and a whole slew of underground progressive metal bands that have helped shape his unique guitar parts and complex rhythmic patterns. In concert, the band performs as a power trio, with Ward covering guitar and lead vocals, while bassist Ryan Green and drummer/baby brother Carl Ward handle the rhythm section.
