Versus Episode 8: Strength Training vs. Cycling Only (with Liz Raynor)
Our special guest this episode is Liz Raynor. Liz is a Registered Dietitian (RD), NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist passionate about helping people improve their performance in life and in sport. Liz recently completed her first 50 mile ultramarathon and prior to that ran the marathon and half marathon distances. We discussed the benefits for strength training for cyclists as well as the reasons why so many cyclists still do zero strength training, with a focus on dispelling the misconceptions about adding a lot of extra weight, DOMS and inconclusive studies about the benefits of strength training.
