In July of 2023, Justin Sane, a.k.a Justin Geever, frontman of the political punk band Anti-Flag, was accused of rape and assault by multiple women. As a result, the band broke up and dissolved their record label, A-F Records. Kendra and Rich share updates on the case including litigation and Geever’s recent plans to flee the country.

In June 2020, the hashtag #SpeakingOut started trending on Twitter as numerous women came forward with stories of the abuse, assaults, and harassment they had experienced as wrestlers.

On this episode, Kendra and Rich talk to independent wrestling fan Joe about what this meant for the world of professional wrestling and how these stories had previously been swept under the rug for as long as sports entertainment has been around. Jason also  spends time volunteering with Planned Parenthood and with their neighborhood association. Will discusses growing up with a toxic parent who engaged in domestic, verbal, and emotional abuse. He shares the story of how, in his adult years, he learned about Narcissistic Personality Disorder and how that realization helped him to re-frame events of his younger years.

Will also discusses how he discovered the Punk scene and how, years later, his column in DIY print zine Razorcake has helped him in his process of healing by helping others.

He also discusses how continual allegations of abuse, assault, rape, and violence in the industry lead him away from promoting bands through his writing of them for a variety of publications. In turn, he refocused his love of music into Public Relations, where he is the sole deciding factor on who he represents, taking no monetary income but asking that the bands and artists donate to charity or contribute their time to social service.

Kate is a victim/survivor of rape who learned that the legal path to reporting is wrought with disorder, injustice, and indifference.

In this episode, she walks us through this grueling reality and the ways she’s worked toward healing from this experience. Kate is the host of Surviving Justice: Realities of Reporting Rape, a podcast that explores the complexities of the legal system. The podcast outlines why so many instances of rape are unreported and why the few that are, rarely result in a conviction.
