Azren started working for College Pro in 2011 as a first year university student, after hearing about the program through an in-class recruiting presentation. After a difficult first year, Azren came to appreciate the various skills that become second-nature through the College Pro experience: cold-calling, managing the finances of a business, conducting interviews, and leading a crew to name a few.
Fast forward several years, and Azren eventually decided to start the Calgary Language Nerds in 2016, a company committed to creating self-study resources and teaching a wide variety of languages. As he explains, building the business was a “brick by brick” process, but he’s now in his 6th year and loves it just as much as when he started!

Episode 004: Do You Have What It Takes? Traits that Make Great Entrepreneurs with former Navy Seal Rich Diviney
You won't want to miss this... in today's episode, Quinten and Owen discuss the traits that they believe make successful leaders and entrepreneurs. Our second guest is Rich Diviney, a former navy seal. Rich shares with the 2021 College Pro franchise owners about his time going through BUDS BootCamp, and what attributes he believes helped him successfully complete such an intense grind.
Rich, like many entrepreneurs, knows the importance of GRIT and resilience. Check it out to hear how this can help you in the starting days of your business.
You can find Rich and his new book, The Attributes, here: https://theattributes.com/
"During his twenty years as a Navy SEAL, Commander Rich Diviney was intimately involved in the world-renowned SEAL selection process, which whittles exceptional candidates down to a small cadre of the most elite optimal performers. But Diviney was often surprised by which recruits washed out and which succeeded. Someone could have all the right skills and still fail, while recruits he might have initially dismissed would prove to be top performers. The seemingly objective criteria weren't telling him what he most needed to know: Who could be part of the world's most elite military unit?
Through years of observation, Diviney learned to identify a successful recruit's core Attributes, the innate traits for how a person performs as an individual and as part of a team. That same methodology can be used by anyone in their personal or professional lives.
In this book, the key Attributes for success-- including cunning, adaptability, even narcissism--are defined in fresh and surprising ways, and Diviney shows how they can be applied to a team as readily as a person. Understanding your own attributes and those of the people around you can fast-track optimal performance in all areas of your life."

Aaron talks about the ups and downs of running a business in an area that he is passionate in and how it feels to see this business grow in directions that he never really expected.
We finish the conversation with Aaron doing some reflecting and giving advice to the next generation of entrepreneurs and business people, using what he has learned up to this point in his career to inspire and teach those of us coming next.
