S1E2: Envision Education Math Priority, refining our individual and collective practice
Join us in conversation with Gia Troung (CEO, Envision Education) and Tamyra Walker (Director of Math, Envision Education) as we discuss Envision's Math Priority: embracing change and uncertainty whilst engaging teachers to move from the role of victim to creator, empowered by their capacity to create a new experience for learners. Listen as parallels are drawn between the productive struggle that students are experiencing and the productive struggles that the adults in the network are experiencing.
S1E1: Counterarguments to the use of performance assessment systems
This first season of the show is a six part series designed to unpack and grapple with 6 belief sets that are somewhat prevalent counterarguments to the use of performance assessment systems. In this past year, we did empathy interviews and surveys in the field to learn more about where performance assessment was thriving and where the conditions for such a system seemed unlikely. In this series we discuss these roadblocks, re-frame them as opportunities and learn from those who have overcome similar circumstances. In this episode, we'll introduce and reflect on these six beliefs.
S1E0 - All about our new podcast series
This podcast situates where Assessment, Deeper Learning, Equity and Systems Change meet. Transforming schools is not light work. We illuminate complexities, lift up what’s working and imagine a path forward. With our equity lens we seek to learn from marginalized identities AND intentionally lift up their expertise.
In our first episode, we take some time to share our who, what, why and how. We will offer some context around 1) Who is ELP? 2) How did the podcast come to be and we will define a few tools and frameworks we will reference throughout this series.
Let's get started!
