By Deborah McPhilemy - Selfologist | Author | Speaker
One thing we all have in common is that we all have emotions; we all have feelings, whether we understand it or not. Good and bad, positive and negative, comfortable and uncomfortable. In this show we talk about all of that and more. Human behaviour, failure, success, loss, wins, relationships, parenting, sex - all the topics that makes us feel and think. How our feelings affect our thoughts and vice versa. How our emotions and thoughts affect our emotional, physical and mental health. My intention wit this podcast is to talk about the very aspect that makes us all human : our emotions.

Breaking free from Relationship Abuse
So many people are unaware that we all have an invisible 'magnet' that attracts us to people. A force so strong that it will at times override your intuition, your common sense, and your voice of reason. For 18 years I kept getting back into the same types of relationships over and over again. Relationships that were disempowering, abusive and at times  violent. It was only when I became aware that my own personal magnetism  was creating this vicious cycle, that I was able to change it. In this podcast with Marissa F Cohen https://marissafayecohen.podbean.com/ and Rob https://bobculture.podbean.com/.  I discuss what that magnet is and how I broke the cycle. My book The Relationship Magnet is available as an e-book here or as a print book on Amazon. If you can't find it on Amazon, do a search under my name Deborah McPhilemy and you will find it:-) Join my Advice Membership group https://www.facebook.com/groups/emotique

Feeling Trapped, I can so relate to Meghan Markle
Oprah Winfrey's interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry brought up so many of my own feelings of when I moved to the UK ten years ago.  I too felt incredibly trapped, the culture shock was overwhelming, not feeling that I fitted in or was even wanted when I had so much to offer.  What became evident over the years was realising that a lot of my feelings of 'feeling trapped' was having an old belief of having to submit to my husband, that I was not in charge of my own life and decisions, which came from the era I was brought up in.  It took a lot of courage opening up to my husband talking to him about all of this and actually getting him to understand.  Today he is my biggest champion, my supporter my rock.  Today I live in total freedom with him by my side 100%.

When doing TOO much for others causes YOU to burnout
What I loved most about this chat most was how Linda shares some fantastic tips on how to treat ourselves with the same love and attention as we do others.  Moms, caregivers and entrepreneurs give so much of themselves to others and often we forget about giving to ourselves.  I know that personally I have found it hard to give myself the same love, time and attention that I give to my children, my spouse and the rest of my family.  Linda's tips help you to put this into perspective and helps you to shift your mindset.
