What Cornerstone Baptist Church believes:

The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:11, “If any man speak, let him speak as of the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

Our heart’s desire is that God may be glorified in all things as we seek to minister to others.

Cornerstone Baptist Church was started in 1991 by a group of people who wanted a church where the Bible was the final authority, not tradition or denomination. Since that time, God has blessed the effort of that initial group and the vision has been broadened and refined as the years have passed.

As we have sought the leadership of the Holy Spirt and with a desire to “seek the old paths”. There are a few ministries which seem to be the “earmarks” of our church. First would be Bible preaching and teaching, in order to “perfect he saints”. We have also seen a great response to the challenge of World Missions as we continue to support more missionaries each year. One of our goals is to minister to the entire family and emphasize the importance of Bible based homes. This of course leads to a lot of training for the youth, and a particular emphasis on character. With these areas of emphasis, we also strive to exercise grace and allow the saints room and time to grow in the Lord. Christianity is not a Sunday religion It is not a performance. It is a relationship with Jesus Christ which matures with time and effort.

Cornerstone Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental, mission-minded Baptist church that holds to the following:

• Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone

• The King James Bible as the preserved word of God & our final authority

• The virgin birth of Jesus Christ

• The deity of Jesus Christ

• The pre-millennial return of Christ to this earth

•  The eternal security of ever true born-again believer

• The gospel as the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus Christ
• We resist the contemporary music & mega-church philosophy

Our first meeting was in a tent in 1991. We organized as a church in October of that year and have witnessed the merciful hand of God through these years as we have grown in Christ through old fashioned preaching, praying, singing and genuine concern for the saved and the lost alike.

What QBBC believes about the Holy Bible: That both verbal and plenary inspiration applies to the Scriptures known as the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament Canon.  That is, that God literally breathed His words and that every part of the Scriptures is the Word of God.  2 Timothy 3:16. We believe that God preserved His words as he promised to do. These words are preserved in the original languages of Hebrew and Greek exactly the way He intended them to be without need of addition or subtraction to any part of them.  Deuteronomy 4:2; Psalm 12:6-7. We also believe that the doctrine of inspiration is of no value without the doctrine of preservation.  

What QBBC believes about Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh (John 1:1-14), that He is fully God while at the same time being fully man. (Isaiah 9:6), that He is perfect in every way. (Hebrews 4:15), that He is the only way of salvation (John 14:6), that He was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), that He lived a sinless life, died on a cross at Calvary, was buried, arose bodily from the dead, ascended to Heaven, sits at the right hand of God the Father’s throne making intercession for Believers, will meet His Bride in the air in the rapture, and will return bodily to the earth to establish His Millennial Kingdom on earth.  Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 8:34; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; 2 Timothy 2:8; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:4.

That He is referred to as the Comforter and the Spirit in the Scriptures.  John 14:16, 26. That He reproves the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.  John 16:7-11. That He baptizes every Believer into the Body of Christ at the time of conversion and seals them for eternity.  John 3:5-8; Romans 6:3; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; 2 Corinthians 1:22; Galatians 3:27; Ephesians 1:13; 4:4-5, 30. That He will bear fruit in the life of the Believer and is actively trying to mold them into the image of Christ.  Romans 8:23-29; Galatians 5:22-23; 2 Corinthians 3:18. That He makes intercession on behalf of Believers according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27.

Man

We believe that God created man in His image in a state of innocence, but through temptation, man transgressed and became dead in trespasses and sins. As a result, all men inherited a corrupt nature, are born in sin and are under condemnation.

Security of the Believer

We believe that those who, by faith, receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, are the children of God, are heirs and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ, are kept by the power of God and can know they are eternally saved forever! 

Last Things

We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial return of Christ. The Lord shall return for His church and rapture out the church at any given moment. The world will then enter into a seven-year period of tribulation that will end with the battle of Armageddon and the Second Advent of Jesus Christ. He will come as “King of Kings” and “Lord of lords”, and establish His kingdom that will last for 1,000 years. The Lord will then judge the living and the dead at the Great White Throne Judgement (which is different from the judgement Seat of Christ where the Lord judges the Church). After this, all the lost, Satan, death and hell are cast into the Lake of Fire, while the Lord and His saints enter into “Eternal Bliss”.

These people meet together to worship the Lord, to praise Him, to encourage one another to live lives pleasing to the Savior and to be instructed in the truths of the Holy Bible.

The extent to which the blessing of the Lord abides upon a church and the effectiveness of a church in the aforementioned areas depends upon its understanding of and obedience to the words of God. A collection of individuals, each living in accord with their opinions or religious notions, can accomplish little for Christ. Security of the Believer

We believe that those who, by faith, receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, are the children of God, are heirs and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ, are kept by the power of God and can know they are eternally saved forever! 

Last Things

We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial return of Christ. The Lord shall return for His church and rapture out the church at any given moment. The world will then enter into a seven-year period of tribulation that will end with the battle of Armageddon and the Second Advent of Jesus Christ. He will come as “King of Kings” and “Lord of lords”, and establish His kingdom that will last for 1,000 years. The Lord will then judge the living and the dead at the Great White Throne Judgement (which is different from the judgement Seat of Christ where the Lord judges the Church). After this, all the lost, Satan, death and hell are cast into the Lake of Fire, while the Lord and His saints enter into “Eternal Bliss”.

First would be Bible preaching and teaching, in order to “perfect he saints”. We have also seen a great response to the challenge of World Missions as we continue to support more missionaries each year. One of our goals is to minister to the entire family and emphasize the importance of Bible based homes. This of course leads to a lot of training for the youth, and a particular emphasis on character. With these areas of emphasis, we also strive to exercise grace and allow the saints room and time to grow in the Lord. Christianity is not a Sunday religion It is not a performance. It is a relationship with Jesus Christ which matures with time and effort.

The Scriptures

We believe the scriptures are verbally inspired of God making them the supreme and final authority for our faith and practice, and are preserved in the KJV Authorized Version.  

God

We believe in one God existing in three persons (The Holy Trinity): God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Existing without beginning and without end.  

Jesus

We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His death on the cross to pay in full the debt for our sins, His resurrection, and His coming return.  

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, one with the Father and the Son, the indweller of every believer to enlighten and seal each believer until the day of redemption of the body.

Man

We believe that God created man in His image in a state of innocence, but through temptation, man transgressed and became dead in trespasses and sins. As a result, all men inherited a corrupt nature, are born in sin and are under condemnation.

Security of the Believer

We believe that those who, by faith, receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, are the children of God, are heirs and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ, are kept by the power of God and can know they are eternally saved forever! 

Last Things

We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial return of Christ. The Lord shall return for His church and rapture out the church at any given moment. The world will then enter into a seven-year period of tribulation that will end with the battle of Armageddon and the Second Advent of Jesus Christ. He will come as “King of Kings” and “Lord of lords”, and establish His kingdom that will last for 1,000 years. The Lord will then judge the living and the dead at the Great White Throne Judgement (which is different from the judgement Seat of Christ where the Lord judges the Church). After this, all the lost, Satan, death and hell are cast into the Lake of Fire, while the Lord and His saints enter into “Eternal Bliss”.

Man

We believe that God created man in His image in a state of innocence, but through temptation, man transgressed and became dead in trespasses and sins. As a result, all men inherited a corrupt nature, are born in sin and are under condemnation.

Security of the Believer

We believe that those who, by faith, receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, are the children of God, are heirs and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ, are kept by the power of God and can know they are eternally saved forever! 

Last Things

We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial return of Christ. The Lord shall return for His church and rapture out the church at any given moment. The world will then enter into a seven-year period of tribulation that will end with the battle of Armageddon and the Second Advent of Jesus Christ. He will come as “King of Kings” and “Lord of lords”, and establish His kingdom that will last for 1,000 years. The Lord will then judge the living and the dead at the Great White Throne Judgement (which is different from the judgement Seat of Christ where the Lord judges the Church). After this, all the lost, Satan, death and hell are cast into the Lake of Fire, while the Lord and His saints enter into “Eternal Bliss”.
