Intro: The Ferimore Chronicles

Intro: The Ferimore Chronicles

Hello everyone. Beginning in October we will be bringing you a series of stories that we hope will entertain you.

Welcome to the Ferimore Chronicles, a bi-monthly fictional podcast originating from the enchanting town of Carbis Bay, where the possibilities are boundless. It's a mystery, adventure thriller about history, secrets, romance and bad guys.

If you're looking for a place to start you can go to my Spotify page at https://tinyurl.com/3kypmkk6. If you're new to the world of podcasts, don't hesitate to dive right in on Spotify. Feel free to explore episodes at your own pace, whether that means skipping around or rewinding; after all, time can be as fluid as your listening experience. Each story is a standalone masterpiece, allowing you to immerse yourself without any prior knowledge of the show.

The location for this story is beautiful Cornwall England. The location of the fictitious Manor is present day Tregenna Castle. I drew inspiration for that location, and castle when I did my research for the book.

The Manor sits on the most prized land in all of Cornwall England. It was originally built in the 14th Century by an English Knight named Sir Heric of Shaldorn who was knighted for his bravery in the Battle of Legume awarded by King Ernaldus III. I drew inspiration for this fictitious battle taken from the real Battle of Crécy, (August 26, 1346). The battle and the knight are part of the history of this place, and play an important role in the backstory.

The protagonist Jennifer Ferimore was raised on a ranch in Cheyenne Wyoming. Trained as an investigative reporter for a local paper until one day she receives a strange letter requesting her presence at the reading of her uncles will. She travels to England, and when she arrives on the Manor property is where the story begins. There are many plot twists and secrets.

Soon after arriving she is told by her attorney that the property is behind on it's taxes, and they must be paid before the property is officially hers. Will Jennifer solve the mysteries before it's too late.

Shaldorn holds secrets that men are willing to kill for.

Welcome to the Ferimore Chronicles. Enjoy the journey!

Developing Your Alter Ego

Developing Your Alter Ego

Hi guys. Today we're going to talk about Developing an Alter Ego, and how it can benefit you.

Let's play with the idea of an alter ego of yourself. Let's just pretend for now. If you're a shy person what would it be like for you to walk into a business, and be confident in yourself. First, let's take a look at the definition of personality. Ya know people think personality is set in stone. Well my personality is just who I am. It's how I've always been. But personality, the actual root word for personality comes from persona. Which is the Greek word for the actors mask that they would wear in a theater. So back during ancient Greece the masks they wore were their personas.

So when we talk about personality...who you think you are is just a mask your deciding to wear. Now just to be honest we are most of the time unconsciously deciding to put this mask on every single day. You're unconsciously deciding to be who you were every single day. You're making that decision to act based on how you've always acted. To believe what you've always believed. To set the limitations that you've always set.

It is not written into the fabric of the universe that you have to be who you currently are. Or that you will always be who you currently are. That's just a set of beliefs, and all beliefs can be changed.

So how do we change our beliefs about ourselves? Well, at any time you can literally decide to be somebody else. You can decide to no longer be the person you've been, and decide to be a brand new person.

There is a quote I like by Allan Watts that says: "You are under no obligation to be who you were 5 minutes ago."

Five Steps to Greatness

Five Steps to Greatness

In life there are winners and losers. Winners are the ones who do the work. They work hard and think they're still being lazy. You can either be a kitten or a lion.

You can be an attacker and a go go-getter. But if you want to sit there and cry, moan and whine all the time because you can't, can't, can't then you sit your six on the bench with the losers. But don't expect me to turn around and pat you on the back and say hey good job for being a quitter.

I want you too get up earlier. Work longer. Stay later. I want you to show those who doubted you, the haters and naysayers. I want you to be FEARLESS. I want you to be decisive.

Every morning, everyday I want you to move yourself. Be intentional. Be deliberate. Move yourself. To be successful in life. To be a champion you must discipline yourself.

My Life Story Part I

My Life Story Part I

When we were kids we all wanted to be a soldier fighting an enemy in war or an Astronaut in space. As kids, we played outside with sticks for rifles; used sound effects for bullets and bombs. We would even pretend to be wounded. War to us then was a fictional place where you could be a hero then go home for dinner.

Like my friends, our fathers before us served in World War II and Korea. They knew the truth of war because they lived it but rarely ever talked about it. We grew up watching actors like John Wayne, Audie Murphy, and so many others as heroes fighting Germans and Japanese during World War II. I was especially drawn to the aviators like Chuck Yeager, Jimmy Doolittle, and astronauts of the Gemini and Apollo era. They seemed larger than life, and I wanted to be like them.

I have lived a purpose driven life since I was eighteen. My childhood was wonderful. In May of 1968 we moved into our new home. I grew up on a street called Cool Brook in Louisville, Kentucky in a small town called Fern Creek or at least it was back then. My family consists of myself and two older brothers. Summer of that year I went with a friend and his family to see 2001 A Space Odyssey at a drive-in theater. That was the year the movie was released. When I was a little boy my mom and dad took me to a local carnival where they were giving helicopter rides. I got a ride in one which was the first time I had left the Earth since I was born. It sure was fun and it gave me my first taste of flying. Two close friends of my mother were Billy Davis and his wife. Billy was an aerial photographer for the Courier Journal newspaper in Louisville. He owned his own plane. When I was a young teenager, he took us flying in his plane. This would be the second time I flew, and it was far more thrilling. Little did I know then that I would fly again during my service in the Air Force, and become part of an elite combat fighter squadron called the 72nd Tactical Fighter Squadron originally created after Pearl Harbor in April of 1942.

In the military, I was in charge of not just machinery but airmen as well. My civilian life was quite different. In civilian life I was never the boss of anything, save raising my three kids on my own. I never held a public office. I never made much money. I never chased any of the contemporary definitions of success—popularity, power or position.

Yet, despite my humble life, my kids, grand kids, and great-grandchildren will know about me. I hope that through this book my family and future generations will know who I was, and what I did. I hope that my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who read my autobiography will come to know me, and have a better understanding of the sacrifices made by Cold War veterans as well as veterans in any conflict.

Maybe it will make up for not being able to spend time with them while they grew up. Most importantly, I want to share my memories in the hope that my experiences will serve as an example for future generations who must make difficult decisions, and possibly put their lives on the line for the preservation of liberty. To date, the Cold War was the longest and one of the most misunderstood wars in American history. It lasted 46 years.

I am the grandson of a World War I veteran and the son of a World War II Veteran. I am an American Airman and a Cold War Veteran.

This is my story.

Improve your mind in 3 Steps

Improve your mind in 3 Steps

Episode 17 Improve Your Mind in 3 Steps

All too often we don’t think about the positive or the good things in our lives.

Avoid the negative news and being around negative people. Our minds have a positive input and output. What we put in has lasting effects on our daily lives. Imagine every action you took that had a positive impact on your life, you not only did it, but you committed to it. To me, it comes down to how you think and what you focus on.

I’ve got 3 steps for you to improve your mind:

1. What do I need to stop doing.

Do you not need to be on social media as much. Do you not need to listen to the news. Maybe you need to stop hanging around the wrong people. Maybe you should be more disciplined. Right? If you’re not a disciplined person, the main reason is that you have let your mind win most of your life. It’s time to stop negotiating with it. Discipline isn't something you're born with, it's a skill you develop.

2. What do I need to start doing

Do you need to start replacing the time you spend on social media? Or the social media sites you spend time on. I believe it’s a natural human trait to be lazy or procrastinate, but you still want to finish what you start right? So you’ve got to train your mind to think and be positive. Do you need to spend more time reading books? Maybe there is a self-help book you want to read. Maybe you just need to take walks. Even if that's all you're doing it will make a huge impact on your life. What you’re training your brain to do, is to develop the discipline you need to be more positive.

3. What do I need to continue doing

Do you need to get up early? Do you need to plan your day? Maybe you need to incorporate exercise into your day. Something with movement to get your heart rate up and get you going. Movement creates energy, and energy creates action and action creates results. This is how you develop your willpower, your discipline, and get over procrastination. This is also how you become more successful in every aspect of your life.

The better you are the better you can serve the world.

Episode 14 Six Steps to Achieve Sucess

Episode 14 Six Steps to Achieve Sucess

How do achieve success? There are many different tactics for how to be successful in life, but the strategy that works best for you may depend on your mindset. We often think of it as doing well at work or earning a high salary.

While professional accomplishments can be one piece of the puzzle, it leaves out many other important areas of life. Family, romantic relationships, academics, and athletics are just a few areas where people may strive for success. Your individual definition of what success is may vary, but many might define it as being fulfilled, happy, safe, healthy, and loved.

In this episode we explain how to stay motivated and believe in yourself.

Episode 16 Beta Now Better Later

Episode 16 Beta Now Better Later

When we're born...we are completely devoid of knowledge or understanding...of the world around us. As we grow and mature we learn about the world...but also about ourselves...Through our teen years we play sports...and learn the value of teamwork...We learn about rejection and being accepted. What you do every day is more important than what you do once a year.

If you're not happy with the current version of you...then change it. As humans we have the unique ability to alter our mindset and change the outcome of a bad situation...because of one simple thing...PASSION

Right now you are the BETA version of you...but with effort and time you can be BETTER LATER. Like technology in order to make the BETA version better we have to bug fix...and improve it.

Discipline your thoughts

Discipline your thoughts

Much of life comes down to control. But we have to understand what we cannot control so that we can capitalize and make the most of the things that we can. There are things we cannot control...that we must find a way to stop exerting ourselves stop exhausting our energy on. So instead of exerting out energy to push and push against it. We need to learn to effectively navigate them.

Since we know we cannot change that which has already occurred and happened like the past. All we really have is now. If we can change it then act now in bringing about a desired result. Take that first step create some semblance of momentum or movement no matter how small but to worry about what is behind you or in front of you is actually insanity.
