When Shame Shows Up with Kyira Wackett

When Shame Shows Up with Kyira Wackett

The topic of shame has been coming up for me a lot lately. It’s often such a deeply ingrained, insidious and in my opinion, largely unhelpful emotion because of the way it tends to run on a loop and feed on itself…unless of course we have the ability to recognise it and learn to build, what my guest this week, calls shame resilience.

Kyira Wackett is a licensed mental health therapist who specialises in shame and anxiety, eating disorders and trauma. Kyira is also the survivor of complex childhood trauma, in recovery from PTSD and a severe eating disorder and a mama to a 3 year old girl.

In this deeply personal and insightful chat, Kyira shares her thoughts and expertise on shame including:

  • The concept of shame, including how to build what she describes as shame resilience
  • Having deep conversations in both formal and informal settings, asking for help and building connection with other humans
  • Accessing therapy and support, including alternative methods other than therapy (especially within a heavily burdened health system) and some of the pro’s and con’s of accessing help, particularly in the online space
  • How, when seeking help and it doesn’t working out as we hoped can lead us to think it’s us that’s broken, when that’s certainly not the case
  • Super helpful and practical tips on how to choose the right support for you
  • The impact of childhood trauma, insecure attachment and how our sense of self is developed from our core beliefs and subsequent shame identity.
  • Parenthood and the importance of making shame resilient choices that work for you and don’t reflect the views (and/or shame and judgement) of others.

Kyira Wackett is a licensed mental health therapist specialising in shame and anxiety. She is the owner of Adversity Rising, a company who equips people with the confidence and skills to write their own stories. Her work ranges from one on one coaching to corporate wellness packages with a focus on what she calls the anti-band-aid movement or resisting the quick fix in favor of doing the work necessary to make meaningful and sustainable change. The highlight of her work is her signature program, That Life AR, where she walks people through her 5-step therapeutic process she believes can combat any pain point that comes our way because we all deserve to live a life in which we can thrive.

The Wonderful World of Crystals with Sara Bryki

The Wonderful World of Crystals with Sara Bryki

Growing up I knew a lot about crystals. I loved saving up my money and picking out a new crystal. I had a pink laminated card, kind of like a crystal "cheat sheet" and I learnt all about which crystal was for what. But over time, I lost connection to that part of me, only coming back to it in the past few years, re-discovering the wonderfully sparkly and high vibe world of crystals. Having a crystal expert has been high on my list since starting the podcast and I’m really excited to share this chat with Sara Bryki with you.

Sara is a Certified Crystal Healer, a dog mom to four fur-babies and a lover of all things crystals. Whether you’re new to the world of crystals or a long time lover of these magical gems, I’m sure you will love this high vibe chat.

Sara shares how she came to work with crystals, and some amazing tips on how to work with crystals including:

  • Working through major transitions in life including crystals to support the grieving process and why they help. Not just grieving the loss of a loved one, but also in the loss of relationships, futures, ideas, limiting beliefs, changes in circumstances.
  • Her journey from a 20-year healthcare administration career to doing her souls work
  • Energetics, frequency and the magic of crystals
  • How crystals help us to connect more with ourselves, our world around us, our loved ones.
  • How to incorporate crystals into your everyday practice, including specific crystals to support you at different times.

Sara Bryki is super passionate about helping others see and feel how crystals can help them 'remember' and connect with their true selves! Sara is the CEO of Sara Bryki Co. and Bryki Gallery where they specialize in high-end, curated crystals, crystal education and bringing people together in heart-centred communities.

Healing Our Heart and Body After Birth with Prudence Todd

Healing Our Heart and Body After Birth with Prudence Todd

I’m so honoured to share this beautiful chat between two mama’s all about healing our heart and body after birth. As a previous Midwife, Registered Nurse, Bodytalk practitioner and now Holistic Pelvic Care Practitioner and Restorative Pilates Instructor, Prudence Todd (a mama of 4!) helps women heal their heart and body after birth trauma with her online and in person healing sessions.

Although I wouldn’t have considered giving birth to my daughter to be particularly traumatic in itself, I now acknowledge that there are elements of trauma around my pregnancy and birth that deserve to be honoured, acknowledge and grieved. And you know that I’m so here for sharing these stories and talking about the things we don’t talk about enough!

In this episode, Prudence and I chat about:

  • Our individual and very different birth stories, with both resulting in trauma, grief and requiring significant healing
  • What birth trauma is and why it may be different (or more broad) than what you think
  • How Prudence works with her clients to support them post birth and processing trauma
  • The importance of prioritising ourselves as mama’s including treating ourselves with love and compassion
  • How to tune in and listen to our body and what she needs (including a practical example of how to do this in any moment)
  • Navigating relationships through parenting and dealing with our own layers of trauma

Prudence Todd is the Founder of Your Womanhood and deeply passionate about women’s experience of womanhood, birth and beyond. She specialises in guiding women to reconnect with their bodies, access their intuitive wisdom and medicine within and in turn heal pelvic floor trauma and dysfunction. Prudence believes our womanhood is the portal to so much that rests within in us and that birth and pelvic floor dysfunction calls us home to address these issues. Prudence loves to gather women together across cultures and generations to share wisdoms and give language to what women experience in their body’s as a birthing woman. Prudence loves surfing with her family, spending time with their new puppy and being in nature.

Prudence has also kindly offered a 10% discount to listeners of This Messy, Beautiful life. Please mention the podcast at the time of booking to take advantage of this beautiful offer.

A Second Chance at Life with Carrie Serati Gobble

A Second Chance at Life with Carrie Serati Gobble

This week’s episode is a very personal and inspiring chat with Carrie Serati Gobble who shares her story of growing up with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and requiring a bi-lateral lung transplant by the age of 27.

Carrie’s optimistic outlook on life in the face of significant health challenges and a shortened life expectancy, is nothing short of remarkable and I’m sure, like me, you will be inspired to go out and make the most of your day after listening to this beautiful, authentic and vulnerable chat.

Carrie shares her very personal story, including:

  • Growing up with CF, including how her diagnosis of CF came with a litany of treatments to help keep her alive. Despite CF coming with a shortened life expectancy, Carrie talks about how she lived her life as parallel to other kids as possible.
  • The lead up to her double lung transplant including the fears and reality of facing such a significant procedure at a young age, while knowing it was the thing that would save her life  Life post her double lung transplant and what she sees as her second chance at life, including meeting her now husband Gary who was her mentor (these two have such a sweet love story that will warm your heart!)
  • The numerous complications with her health since the lung transplant, including new diagnoses, but sees her experiences as fuel to help others navigate their own health concerns.
  • Her passion for mentoring, and the volunteer work she does with local chapters of organizations supporting organ transplant, cystic fibrosis and the transplant program where she received her life saving lung transplant.
  • The importance of mental health awareness and professional support in the medical system
  • Her heartfelt request for people to consider the gift of organ donation.

Carrie Serati Gobble is a true warrior and survivor. Carrie uses her health experiences as a platform for personal advocacy when it comes to managing your own health care and is aiming to push for mental health professionals to be a part of the lung transplant program staff. Seeing a real need to assist patients enduring post traumatic stress due to complications with medical procedures as well as to help patients navigate a life they didn't foresee after their transplant. Carries does it all with a sense of humor and humility that has been learned over time. As well as with the support of her family, friends, health care providers, and most importantly her husband Gary.

Take Back Your Personal Power with Chelsea Webster

Take Back Your Personal Power with Chelsea Webster

Today I’m speaking with Chelsea Webster all about personal power and how we can take it back to find purpose in life. This is such an important topic and something I believe we don’t talk about enough.

Giving away our personal power tends to happen over time and can sneak up on us. It’s when we make choices to abandon our own wants, needs and values and put the needs and opinions of others ahead of our own, leading to resentment, frustration and burnout.

In this chat, Chelsea and I cover:

· Some of the ways we give away our personal power, where it stems from and how it shows up

· Some of the signs you may have given away your personal power

· Steps to take to start taking back your personal power

· The power of epigenetics and clearing limiting beliefs

· The importance and value of understanding our individual humanness and unique needs

Chelsea is a Mum of two teenagers and a Registered Nurse who has worked in the healthcare industry for 20 years. Over her time in the Health care industry, she’s experienced challenging workplace cultures and personalities which left her frustrated, burnt out and overwhelmed. This led her to gain qualifications in the field of emotional healthcare and to start Create Your Glow. She now works with and empowers frustrated, burnt out and overwhelmed women to uncover and eliminate their limiting beliefs and emotions which allows them to live the life they deserve and find their inner glow!

Life Lessons, Big Decisions and Prioritising Me!

Life Lessons, Big Decisions and Prioritising Me!

It's finally here...the long awaited life update, alongside some big life lessons and reflections that have already dropped in for 2023!

As you may know, we've been travelling as a family since June 2022 and as the new year was upon us (and the longest time we thought we'd be away was upon us), we had a big decision to make! Where to next? Back to Australia? On to somewhere new? Or commit to settling in the place we've loved most in our travels? I'm sharing the big and exciting decision we made and all of the fun things that come with it!

Alongside that big decision, this year has already been a time for deep reflection and big realisations. For taking a further step back from the online world, a pause in podcasting and more time to focus on real life...family, friends and most importantly prioritising me! The online world is proving more and more challenging for many people, and I share my thoughts on what's (often unfairly) expected of us in this world and why I'm taking an even bigger step back.

I also share how I've realised that the amount of time, energy and attention I've been giving to others is partly related to my trauma response and is in at least a small part (maybe more!) allowing me to distract from truly focusing on myself, my self care and my healing. So I'm saying enough is enough and declaring that 2023 is going to be all about me!

Energy is Everything with Reiki_With_Sam

Energy is Everything with Reiki_With_Sam

Here’s another fabulous guest episode that was originally recorded in my (now closed) Facebook Group, The Consciousness Collective and now coming to you via the podcast!

Talking and learning about energy is one of my favourite things, because for so long I had no idea about the importance and existence of energy. Finding out about it explained a lot of previously inexplainable things for me; like why I seemed to feel other people’s emotions or why some environments made me feel really icky (and not because I was some precious princess!).

This episode will especially resonate for those who sit on the more sensitive and/or intuitive end of the scale, but I think everyone will enjoy this chat with Sam, Energy Healer and Psychic where we talk about how energy really is everything!

Sam and I cover:

  • Energy healing modalities
  • Being your own energy healer
  • The importance of decluttering things (and people!) from your life to call in wonderful and aligned abundance including money, jobs and relationships
  • Tips for tapping into, and managing your own energy

The book Sam references in the episode, It’s Not Your Money, can be found here https://www.amazon.com/Its-Not-Your-Money-Abundance/dp/1401954731

Sam has limited availability for her distance Reiki and Psychic Healing sessions (that I highly recommend, they are SO powerful!), however you can make contact with her via DM on Instagram (details below).

What Does it Mean to be "Busy"?

We Are Not Our Stories with Petia Kolibova

We Are Not Our Stories with Petia Kolibova

This week we’re back with my first guest episode for the year, a positive and abundant chat with Petia Kolibova, an alignment women’s coach who guides women to intuitively connect with their inner vision so they can experience personal and professional magnetism and become unapologetically abundant.

In the earlier decades of her life, Petia let the stories about who she was and how she came to be overshadow her, leading to unhappiness, unhealthy relationships with others and herself and a lot of time running away. It wasn’t until she realised that these stories were not her truth that she began to heal and open herself up to remembering who she truly was.

Petia and I talk all about:

  • Shedding the stories that shape us, because we are not our stories, but if we let them they can take over our life
  • Creating sacred pause in our day, week and life (I simply love this notion, you're going to want to implement this one!)
  • Choosing how we feel in any moment and using this to guide us in our dreams, goals, and actions
  • Starting the year with intention, while also being gentle with yourself and doing it in a way that works for you
  • Creating balance between the sacred masculine and feminine in life and business and why it’s so important

Petia’s mission is to empower visionaries who are on the path to embody their fullest self-expression to soulfully expand into a quantum leap in all dimensions of their lives. Petia gives immense clarity + exact steps to unlock women’s divine feminine and abundance mindset. Through subconscious work as a certified breathwork facilitator, reiki, NLP & Human Design practitioner, she leads her 6 and 7 figure clients to their next level in life and business. If she is not interviewing fellow experts on her podcast Unapologetically Abundant, you’ll find her traveling the world with her husband, hosting retreats, or reading.

New Year Visualisation Meditation

New Year Visualisation Meditation

Hello 2023, and welcome back to Season 2 of This Messy, Beautiful Life!

I have a beautiful visualisation meditation to share with you and support you in your 2023 visioning and goal setting process. No matter where you are in the process, this meditation will provide you with an opportunity to reflect on the year that’s been, leave it behind (with love) and welcome 2023 with a clear vision of what you’d like to achieve this year. (Also, if you're listening back to this episode, it's relevant for any new year and/or at a time when you're honouring endings and beginnings)

I recommend finding a quiet space and at least 30/40 minutes, which includes time after the mediation do some journalling. In your journalling, reflect on what came up for you during the visioning visualisation. Let it all flow out and this can either be the beginning of your 2023 vision, or support the work you've already done.

The meditation starts at 06:21.

Do Ethics Exist in Online Coaching? with Rachel Kurzp

Do Ethics Exist in Online Coaching? with Rachel Kurzp

If you’ve been on this journey with me for a while, you know that I’ve been questioning the impact of the online coaching industry and my role in it for a while now. I know that I’m not alone in this feeling, both from conversations I’ve been having and other people speaking out on social media. This chat today is a deep dive with another fabulous coach who has also been questioning the lack of humanity and in same cases the questionable ethics of what she sees online.

Rachel Kurzp is a marketing coach, copywriter, speaker and teacher. She supports multi-passionate women to build an aligned, ethical and profitable business without having to choose between their passions, compromise their values, and use unethical marketing tactics.

With the new year around the corner, if you've been thinking about working with a coach in 2023, you're going to want to listen to this episode, where Rachel and I talk all about:

  • Honouring our individual humanity in everything that we do.
  • The promises that are made by some online coaches, the reason why they don’t sit right with us and are in some cases what we would consider unethical.
  • Why copying someone else’s pathway to success isn’t likely to work for you, and how damaging it can be to our sense of worth when we feel like we're dong "everything we've been told" but we're not seeing results.
  • The importance of values, boundaries and ethics in making decisions from a place of integrity and alignment.
  • How privilege is rife in the online coaching and spiritual/manifestation space.
  • The money mindset/stories that we carry and why choosing a coach who promises certain financial outcomes might not be the best choice.

Rachel also shares her journey from being homeless at 17 and the life choices she’s made as a result, predominantly from a place of strong belief that she was worthy and deserved a better life.

Rachel Kurzp has helped over 3,000 creative entrepreneurs gain financial freedom in their businesses, enabling them to make a positive contribution to the world. Rachel resisted speaking about her background for so long because her story doesn’t fit nicely into the ‘rags to riches’ narrative we hear so often, as those stories always left her feeling deflated wondering why she hadn’t had the ‘holy aha moment’ that set her on a new path.

But after sharing her journey privately with her clients and community she realised they didn’t want an over-simplified, highlight reel. They wanted to understand the life-long work that goes into creating a purposeful live and aligned business.

The Joy of Slowing Down (Part 2)

The Joy of Slowing Down (Part 2)

This week's episode is drawing a connection back to my second episode, The Joy of Slowing Down (Part 2) where I share with you, just how important slowing down has become to me in the past 12 months. What started this time last year as my "33 days of joy" has become a full blown commitment to myself, as well as supporting others in honouring our need for rest.

I have such a deep belief that taking the time to slow down is essential in any journey of healing. Because if we can't take the time to pause, be present and connect to our mind, body and soul, then we're unlikely to be able to cultivate the type of awareness to really tune into what we want and need in our own healing. If you're resisting the urge to slow down, it's an invitation to check in with yourself as to what you might be avoiding. Believe me, I've been there many times.

I talk about the universe's little nudge (ahem, push down the stairs!) to remind me to slow down, the experiment I've undertaken these past few weeks to really challenge myself to slow down (I've done WAY less work hours and achieved WAY more by honouring my need for rest than I was sitting at my computer for hours on end) and the reasons why slowing down and taking time to rest is so good for our nervous system.

The Joy of Slowing Down Masterclass

If you're keen to know more about The Joy of Slowing Down, join me for my free masterclass next Thursday 10:00am AWST / 1:00pm AEDT where we will explore this topic more deeply, including a beautiful live meditation to support us in slowing down and honouring our need for rest. Tortured to Triumphant; Healing Through Sound with Lu Bryant

Tortured to Triumphant; Healing Through Sound with Lu Bryant

Lu Bryant is an author, Reiki Master, Priest, Certified Neurolinguistic Programming Practitioner, EFT (Tapping) Practitioner and Master Life Coach specialising in overcoming invalidations and raising self-esteem. This episode is Lu's personal story of tremendous resilience, bravery and sheer determination to heal herself through incredible adversity.

Trigger Warning: This episode contains personal experiences of significant childhood physical, emotional abuse and rape that may be triggering to some people. Please proceed with care and if anything in this episode triggers you, please reach out to a mental health professional for support. If you do not have access to your own individual support or need more immediate support, in Australia, call Lifeline is 13 11 14 or Beyond Blue 1300 22 4636. If you live elsewhere, please get in contact with your local mental health crisis support helpline.

Lu takes us on a journey through her incredibly traumatic childhood, all through the lens of the power of sound for healing. She was 12 years old when she got her hands on a 12 string guitar and the strumming of the guitar and the sound resonated through her body in a way she didn’t quite understand at the time. She now understands why this was so supportive in her healing, alongside a deep connection (and escape) into nature.

She shares her very personal and vulnerable story of overcoming tremendous adversity, long term, deep healing from complex PTSD and the sheer determination and courage she has to not give up.

We talk about the power of sound and music, science behind why and sound healing works, nature, spirituality, faith, near death experiences, experimenting with different healing modalities, sound and light therapy, Holosync and the concept of feedback rather than failure, writing a book, therapy and understanding and treating complex PTSD.

You can find Lu’s book “Tortured To Triumphant: One Woman's Spiritual Journey Through Complex PTSD” here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09T61FB6L/ref=nodl_?ref_=pe_3052080_397514860

How Childhood Trauma Shapes Us + Setting Holiday Boundaries

How Childhood Trauma Shapes Us + Setting Holiday Boundaries

Oooh, this is a juicy episode! I've been wanting to talk more about childhood trauma and how that shows up in our life and relationships for some time, and what better time than the holiday season, where let's be honest family events can trigger the sh*t out of us! So I'm talking all things family trauma AND how to set boundaries that support you over this period.

I first learnt about the concept of how our childhood trauma shapes us from my therapist back in 2015 (when I was going through a traumatic separation), and she shared all about attachment theory and how attachment styles formed during childhood show up in our adult relationships. It gave me such a great framework to begin to understand who I was and why I had some of the thinking and relational patterns that I did (and still do TBH!). Fast forward to a few years ago and I discovered Dr Nicole Le Pera and her book How To Do The Work, next level game changer on all things trauma and mind, body, soul healing.

Join me as I talk about;

  • "Big T" and "Little T" Trauma
  • Attachment Theory
  • Parental Archetypes of Childhood Trauma
  • Nervous System Disregulation and Mind, Body, Soul Healing
  • Setting Boundaries Throughout The Holiday Season (including 5 tips to prioritise yourself)

If you can resonate with this topic or have any questions for me, please reach out and we can chat in the DMs, particularly if it comes to setting boundaries for the holiday season!

If anything in this episode triggers you in any way, please reach out to a mental health professional for support. If you do not have access to your own individual support or need more immediate support, in Australia, call Lifeline is 13 11 14 or Beyond Blue 1300 22 4636. If you live elsewhere please get in contact with your local mental health crisis support helpline.

I'm delighted to invite you to join me in beautiful Bali in March 2023, to rest and retreat for 5 luxuriously slow and transformative days. Check out www.hivecollective.com.au/retreats and pop your name on the waitlist to get all the details and be the first to access VIP early bird pricing when tickets go on sale very soon. What a beautiful gift to yourself this would be!

How To Be YOU! with Marisa Hamon

How To Be YOU! with Marisa Hamon

How do you just be you? It might seem like a bit of a silly question, but because of the work I do, I know that so many of us have lost touch with who we truly are (hey, it happened to me too!). If this idea resonates with you, then you’re going to love this chat with my guest Marissa Hamon talking all things finding and being YOU!

Marissa is a Life Coach who helps people take responsibility for themselves, so they show up as their best self and create their ideal life.

Talking all things self-love aka self-responsibility and truly loving and taking care about ourselves on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level), Marissa and I explore:

  • How Marissa discovered who she was, what lights her up and what led her to become a life coach
  • Finding peace through chaos, the human experience and realising that we never really arrive, but how important it is to enjoy the ride
  • How we’ve lost touch with who we are, disconnected from our true selves through conditioning and the expectations of the outside world
  • The impact of growing up in a religious family, how it taught Marisa to be someone other than her true self and how she is overcoming that
  • Body image and the pressure to look a certain way to be loved and accepted
  • How deeply our mind, body and soul holds on to the things we’ve learnt and experienced over time, creates beliefs and has reactions, that are not necessarily reflective of our true self
  • Why self-compassion is so important but challenging for many of us
  • Feeling and releasing emotions so as not to store them in our body

All of this adding up to how you can be more YOU!

Marissa has personally dealt with limiting beliefs, depression, emotional and binge eating, body shame, not being able to love and accept herself, and feelings of powerlessness, unworthiness, and not being good enough. Because of her own healing journey, she knows that it is possible to heal, overcome any life difficulties, and live a happy, joyful, fulfilled life with commitment, the right tools, and support.

Marissa now helps others find the right tools for self awareness and self management on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels so they too can love themselves, create their Ideal Life, and be excited to live!!

Why Does it Feel So Fucking Good to Share?

Why Does it Feel So Fucking Good to Share?

This episode's coming in hot after some recent conversations (just two in the last week) where people have said "I feel SO much better having just spoken about it".

It got me thinking, why is it such a surprise that sharing feels better and why does it actually feel better to share what we're thinking and how we're feeling? We live in a world where we've been taught to keep things to ourself, to not show vulnerability and to feel shame if we're not coping. When actually, as humans, we're built for connection...we're not meant to struggle through on our own!

In this solo episode I'm sharing some of the reasons why it feels so good to share and some tips for how to set up these conversations for success. I cover some science behind what happens in our brain when we express emotions, how speaking our emotions and feelings out loud helps us understand them better, helps us form connections and makes us feel less alone. It's also my experience that it's very rare for someone to not be able to relate to what we're talking about in some way, particularly when it comes to sharing challenges in our relationships, parenting and mental health.

It's always a good idea to make sure you're having these conversations with people that you trust, to check that they have capacity to support you and it's absolutely ok to have boundaries around how you would like them to treat the information you share with them by being direct about whether or not you'd like them to keep it confidential.

I am so passionate about normalising these conversations, seeking support from others, sharing our vulnerability and spreading the word that just because we're healing (or facing challenges!) doesn't mean that we're broken! It simply makes us human.

Plus I've got some exciting news to share...I'm hosting a retreat in magical Bali in March 2023 and you're invited! the waitlist is now open and you can get your name on it here https://www.hivecollective.com.au/retreats to be the first to get details and access to early bird VIP tickets.

Tapping Into Your Soul's Inner Wisdom with Lisa Philyaw

Welcome back to another delightful guest episode of the podcast. Oh my I'm really on a roll here...I've been talking with awesome humans about all things connecting to ourself and following our own path and today you're getting even more goodness! My next guest is Lisa Philyaw, a Career, Leader, and Business Coach who focuses on helping her clients do their work, their way, with soul.

This episode is also going to appear on Lisa’s podcast, Your Work Your Way (go check it out!) and we explore the concept of strengthening our intuition and tapping into the soul’s inner wisdom, including;

  • Lisa’s personal experience with anxiety and sleeplessness, and how she learnt to manage and overcome it in her life and work
  • How telling ourselves our problem isn’t as bad as others, is not only unhelpful but damaging to our healing and why self-compassion is so important
  • The difference between thinking we have control vs having the power to make a choice
  • Meeting ourselves where we’re at, taking back our power and finding our own way
  • The concept of intuition, how it can show up differently for each of us, as well as the connection between intuition, anxiety, fear and ego
  • Understanding the brain, body, soul connection, developing a deeper connection with ourselves through understanding of what’s happening in our body and how we can use it to our advantage
  • Feeling into what intuition means for each of us, being curious and open hearted about exploring it, while being open to receiving signs and seeing how it shows up for you
  • Our personal experience of the difference between religion and spirituality, and how we’ve both come back to our own spirituality
  • The importance of genuine connection and creating community with like-minded people

As a coach, it’s Lisa’s mission in life to help others trust themselves so they can take charge of their career. She uses her Master’s in Industrial Organisational Psychology (psychology applied to the workplace), life coach certification, and experience as a Learning and Development Consultant and Communication Trainer to provide clients with the tools, guidance, and insight to access their own brilliance.

Life Isn't Complicated; We Are! with Ambila Nath

This week’s guest episode is another wonderful conversation about uncomplicating our life through healing and following our passion with Ambila Nath, a serial entrepreneur, certified coach, spiritual teacher, international speaker and an avid follower of her passions.

In this episode, we chat about:

  • Ambila’s philosophy that life isn't complicated, we are! And what happens when we work on ourself…the external world begins to look different.
  • Making the transition from the corporate world to following her passion and purpose, alongside managing pressure from a family who had different views on her role and purpose in life.
  • Creating a community of our own and finding somewhere we belong.
  • Creating harmony between strategy and spirituality in life and business.
  • Levelling up and developing a greater skillset to manage ourself, our healing and any resistance that comes up
  • How small daily habits can change your whole life; the importance of small, consistent changes to support our bigger goals.
  • How Ambila supports her clients, combining spirituality and strategy and the power of her 8-step Elevation process

Living Life Your Way with Candice Smiley

Living Life Your Way with Candice Smiley

You probably know by now how passionate I am about living an intentional life and doing things your own way, and I think it’s fair to say that my guest today is equally as passionate about it! Candice Smiley is a mama, speaker, writer, blogger, social marketer, host of Create the Ripple Podcast and essentialist who loves to engage in interesting conversations. And this chat we had was definitely one of those!

This episode is also going to appear on Candice’s podcast, Create the Ripple (go check it out!) and we dive into some deep conversations about what it means to live life our own way including:

  • Trusting the niggle (which Candice says is always an inconvenient truth!)
  • The journey of healing from trauma, including holding ourselves during healing and emerging on the other side.
  • Radical forgiveness, acceptance, grace, self-compassion and self-love
  • Embracing the dark days.
  • How we’re (literally) putting ourselves in boxes.
  • How Candice embraces essentialism (having what you want, but having less of it, so you can have better) including living in a tiny home and the importance of who and what you surround yourself with.
  • The anxiety of things (possessions).
  • Doing things that don’t make sense to other people, but knowing it’s right for you, by tuning into what we want and what makes us happy. Setting boundaries with people when they express their “concern” because your choices make them uncomfortable.
  • The lie we’ve been told about how we’re "supposed to be" living our life
  • Embracing the duality and contradictions of life (eg. The masculine and feminine, the yin and yang that we all have within us).
  • Why we both think it’s important to share our stories, especially the messy, beautiful bits.
  • Not being modelled healthy intimate relationships when we’re growing up, including the different types of love, how to love, what “good” love looks like and the work it can take to make a relationship work.

Candice Smiley has learned the power of saying no, listening to your own heart and speaks openly about subtle abuse as it occurs in relationships - personally and professionally. She’s become a voice for listening to your own truth and speaking it clearly, powerfully - at home, at work and in your life. Candice’s favourite conversations are the ones that take courage to engage in.

Candice spends her time living in a tiny home (250 sq ft) with her family, traveling, speaking and sharing candidly with others how to live life after betrayal, to trust themselves, to speak up for themselves and set powerful boundaries.

Happy Birthday to ME! Healing Lessons From The Past Year

Happy Birthday to ME! Healing Lessons From The Past Year

Oh how I love a birthday! It's a day of the year that legitimately gets to be all about you and your joy (if you allow it ;) ). I believe we should all be celebrated on the regular, but what better day than the day you entered the world (in this life!)?!

As I head into the week of my 42nd Birthday (shhh!!) I take the time to stop and reflect on what's happened in the past year and how I've healed, grown and explored joy throughout. From the last two birthday's spent in lockdown, it almost feels like a dream to be celebrating our birthday's (all 3 of us are Librans with birthdays within 10 days of each other) here in tropical paradise, on the beach with our new Bali friends.

Is this a little self indulgent? Hmmmm, I get why it might seem like that...I do enjoy a moment to stop and reflect, but as always I share these things in the hope it inspires, empowers and/or gives others permission to acknowledge we're all a work in progress and we get to make mistakes and learn as we figure out this thing called life!

Come join me as I share how far I've come physically, emotionally and spiritually...from lockdown in Melbourne to packing up our home and travelling in Asia, following my intuition, the importance of our environment, facing our shadow no matter where we're located and taking a moment of pride for what we've done alongside immense gratitude for where we are and all the things that have happened along the way.

I hope you enjoy this personal episode. If you have a moment, a beautiful birthday gift would be to give the podcast a review ***** and share with your networks so we can spread the word far and wide xx

Unlocking the Power of Highly Sensitive Extroverts (HSP-Es) with Jenn Turnham

Unlocking the Power of Highly Sensitive Extroverts (HSP-Es) with Jenn Turnham

This week we’re talking all about Highly Sensitive People (HSP), and more specifically HSP-Extroverts (HSP-Es) with Jenn Turnham who specialises in helping HSP-Extrovert Women, encouraging them to see that they matter, have a powerful voice that needs to be heard, and possess unique gifts that are in short supply in today’s world.

HSPs make up 15-20% of the population, with on 4-6% being HSPEs, so whether you’re just hearing this terminology for the first time and are curious about whether this might apply to you (or someone you love), or if you’d like to learn more about it, come join Jenn and I as we chat about;

  • When Jenn first discovered the concept of Highly Sensitive People (HSP), realising that she was one before going on to support other HSPs.
  • Supporting her family through multiple cancer diagnoses, the loss of her mum and what it led her to realise about how she wanted to live her life.
  • Giving up a “regular job” to pursue her dream as a singer, becoming part of a rock band in her home town of Perth Western Australia, before becoming chronically ill and transitioning across to coaching and supporting HSP-E women.
  • The current adventure Jenn and her fiancé are on, travelling Australia in their caravan, following their bliss and chasing the warmer weather.
  • The “DOES” definition of what defines a HSP; Depth of processing, Over stimulation, Emotional reactivity, Sensitive to subtlety.
  • The contradiction of HSPs with two distinct parts of their personality that are often in direct conflict, and we often grow up thinking something is wrong with us because we sense from a young age that we are ‘different’.
  • The impact of childhood trauma on HSPs; both the additional challenges they face and the advantage they have in healing from trauma
  • My own reflections upon discovering I’m a HSPE, how it shows up for me and how I feel about it!
  • The power of Brain Working Recursive Therapy (BWRT), particularly with HSPs

Jenn Turnham specialises in helping HSP-Extrovert Women - who often have childhood trauma to overcome as well as the other challenges of being a minority within a minority (most HSPs are introverts). With a strong background in applied psychology (B.Psych, MIBWRT (Adv.), Jenn has been using her knowledge, training and experience in helping people use the power of their minds to overcome challenges since 2008. Jenn is also a Registered Advanced BWRT Practitioner which is getting amazing results with trauma, anxiety and a whole host of other challenges.

Jenn is on a mission to educate the world about the unique, brilliant, often misunderstood, very tiny sub-section of the population. She is also determined to unite all HSP-E Women out there and encourage them to see that they matter, they have a powerful voice that needs to be heard, and possess unique gifts that are in short supply in today’s world. Jenn shares her passionate, quirky, eclectic personality through her blog, and in her Facebook Group for HSP-E women, Highly Sensitive Extroverts: Bright Sparks.

Our Messy, Beautiful Philippines Experience with Rob Ruben

Our Messy, Beautiful Philippines Experience with Rob Ruben

This week’s episode is another guest episode with my partner, Rob talking all about our experience visiting family in his birth place of the Philippines.

I feel like I need to include a bit of a disclaimer here. Our chat is a reflection of our lived experience and observations of being in the Philippines for the past month+, and of Rob’s experience growing up here before migrating to Australia (on his own) in 2015. We’re not experts in all of the topics we’re discussing, nor do we intend to speak on behalf of, or about an entire country based on our experience. I am particularly aware that I’m a guest here and this is not my culture, and I’m also coming from a place of privilege. I’m also aware that some of my views are influenced/ supported by Rob’s lived experience as Filipino born and raised.

But actually, in many ways, I think our chat beautifully reflects some of the messy, beautiful mixed feelings and emotions that migrants have relating to their home country, particularly when they’ve left seeking a different life.

We kick off with a (messy!) history of the Philippines (please note we’re definitely no historians!) to provide some context for our chat and some background as to how we’ve experienced the Philippines, including what we see as the effects of the extensive colonisation that’s occurred here over the years and the adopted (from the Spaniards) religion of Catholicism.

We speak about how we’ve felt during our time here, including our own personal perspectives on what we’ve learnt individually and together, how Rob has felt returning “home”, including some of his reasons for moving to Australia in the first place.

We specifically talk about some of the challenges we’ve experienced in the culture and how we want to balance these things with all of the positive parts of Filipino culture, raising our daughter to be a proud Australian x Filipina.

We also answer some questions people asked us via Instagram including where we’re off to next, how long we’re planning to continue travelling for and if our future plans include the US.

We hope you enjoy this very real, raw and in the moment chat!

* One thing we haven't spoken about in this episode is the current political climate here in the Philippines. As you may know, in May 2022 Bong Bong Marcos, son of the previous President Ferdinand Marcos was elected President of the Philippines. This election result was in many ways quite shocking and  at the very least divisive given the history of the family and their impact on the people and the country. If you'd like to find out more about the history of the Marcos family and their rule here from the 1960's - 1980's, I'd highly recommend checking out "The Kingmaker" documentary. This is very recent history, and one which the filipino people rose up to protect themselves and their country less than 40 years ago. Only time will tell what this next iteration of Marcos leadership looks like for the filipino people.

Topics include: culture, history, trauma, family, poverty, feeling safe to speak up, judgement, boundaries, growth, food, Asian culture, Catholicism, migration, energy, environment.

The feedback I get most often is that people love how I do things my way. That I follow my heart and my intuition and do what’s right for me. Even when it’s scary. Or might not make sense to other people. And I want that for you too!

So, in this episode I’m sharing all things living an intentional AF life, including the framework I’ve used personally and with my clients to help us live a life where we follow our heart and our intuition. To know that we don’t have to live an ordinary life or live by someone else’s version of success. Because we get to pave our own path and make our own rules!

Come join me as I share;

My four step framework for living an intentional life;

  • Connection to yourself and knowing who you really are
  • Understanding the role of mindset and limiting beliefs
  • Leveraging your energy and showing up your way
  • Redefining what success really looks like to you

Some of the outcomes of doing this work and living an intentional AF life including;

  • Doing more things that light your soul on fire
  • Feeling the fear and doing it anyway!
  • Making aligned decisions based on this work
  • Speaking your truth
  • How some relationships end, other relationships get stronger and new relationships open up for you

My new 4 week program Reset, is focused on reconnecting to yourself, uncovering what's holding you back from living your best life and hitting the reset button so you can move forward with clarity and live an intentional AF life!

The program is a combination of self-discovery, mindset, guided visualisation, group sharing and deep reflection work, and has been designed to provide a deep dive, transformative experience in a relatively short amount of time.

If you would like to find out more about Reset, check out the information and sign up via my website https://www.hivecollective.com.au/group-programs

If you would like to learn more about your own personal values, you can purchase my Values Workbook in my store https://www.hivecollective.com.au/store

An Open and Expansive Conversation with Dr Candice Staniek

An Open and Expansive Conversation with Dr Candice Staniek

Welcome to another delightful guest episode talking all things finding our own path, personal development and complementary medicine with Dr Candice Staniek.

In this beautifully expansive and exploratory conversation, Candice speaks openly and vulnerably about her own path of healing and growth as we explore a broad range of topics including;

  • How she found her way “back” to Naturopathic medicine after starting her career in a corporate environment around the time of her saturn return.
  • The importance of following the clues and queues throughout life to follow our own path especially when we want something different than the “usual”.
  • Relationship challenges and what happens when our life and vibration/frequency changes and people in our life are no longer aligned or don’t believe in what we believe in (anymore). How important it is to acknowledge these friendships for what they were and to grieve when these relationships end.
  • How Candice overcame a number of challenges throughout medical school including discovering a learning disability, developing viral fatigue, conquering self-doubt and low confidence all while surviving a narcissistic relationship and successfully completing her qualification.
  • How emotions and memories get stored in the body when we don’t process them in a healthy way.
  • The art and science of medicine and opportunities for a more integrated and holistic health system that brings together “traditional” medicine with more “alternative/complementary” medicines and treats people as the individual and complex humans that we are.
  • Living life outside the box, experimentation, judgement and honouring our own individual and unique views and experiences.
  • A concept that Candice is currently exploring, about how cowardice is comforting and why people choose not to do things or make change.

Dr. Candice Staniek is a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Spiritual Yogi, Speaker, Author, Social Marketer, and a huge advocate for people having the ability to reach their spiritual potential. She understands the trials and tribulations related to the struggle of choosing and gaining freedom from the ego (mind, body, pain body, and collective unconscious).

Candice loves having deep conversations and contemplating the bigger questions such as life and death and overcoming illusions. She also loves helping those who are lost and those who are seeking to find their way. She is a co-author of Business, Life and Universe Vol. 2 and has launched a successful 6 week online “Energized You” program, that helps people gain energy and detox. Dr. Candice is also the creator of the Whole Body Visionaries Facebook Group, creating a community for people that value Holistic Care. She knows that health is wealth, and when health suffers so do many other areas of life.

Activating Our Potential Through Astrology with Kubra Ozguvenc

Activating Our Potential Through Astrology with Kubra Ozguvenc

Welcome to the next guest episode, talking all things Astrology and finding our own personal path with Kubra Ozguvenc.

Perfect for anyone who loves Astrology or would like to learn more about how they can use it to activate their potential (far beyond just reading what their sun sign has in store for them this month ;) ), join Kubra and I as we dive into;

  • Kubra’s journey from a chemist (and sceptic!) to alchemist through her own journey of healing, when at 19 years old she became completely paralysed due to stress. Kubra was able to heal and return to health using a combination of traditional medicine and alternative healing approaches.
  • The special approach Kubra has developed using astrology and how to activate your potential by aligning your chart.
  • Living a life of full potential, not dimming our light to simply fit in and being boldly and unapologetically ourselves.
  • What our unpleasant emotions are trying to tell us.
  • The importance of setting healthy boundaries.
  • Using our birth chart as a user manual for our life, including understanding the entirety of our chart, rather than just our sun sign (which is where many peoples understanding of astrology begins and ends).
  • Self worth and the unworthiness wound.
  • The power of personal healing and growth and the ripple effect that it has on healing the collective.

Kubra Ozguvenc is a self-confidence mentor, astrologer, and energy healer. She started the #beboldlyyou movement to encourage women to live a life at their highest potential with confidence.

Perfect for anyone who loves Yoga or would love to learn more about it come join Page and I as we have a beautiful conversation about;

Our Bali Life with Rob Ruben

Our Bali Life with Rob Ruben

I'm BAAACCKKK!! After a little break from the poddy as I prioritised settling our family into life in Bali, I'm excited to share this episode with a very special guest, my partner and my baby daddy Rob, as we reflect on our first month here in Bali.

We share all about our life here in Bali, how we manifested our stunning (temporary) home, settling into our new neighbourhood, the beautiful Balinese people, the food, the vibe, living near the beach...all the good stuff!

We also answer some of your questions about how long we've been planning this trip, whether it's what we expected, how Rob is enjoying travelling on his new Australian passport and how we're funding our digital nomad life.

A big thank you to my love for joining me in this chat, I had so much fun and I look forward to more poddy chats together!

Travel For Growth and Healing with Annie Sisson

Travel For Growth and Healing with Annie Sisson

Only one more sleep until we leave on our digital nomad adventure! Eeeeeeeee!! And what better episode to bring to you, than a guest chat with Annie Sisson all about travel for growth and healing (and of course joy)! Annie shares her view on why indie travel is the best way to travel, the importance of flexibility (and how travel teaches us to be flexible) and finding ourselves through travel.

We talk all about the powerful and life changing experiences we’ve both had through our own travel experiences, the joy of uncovering hidden gems when you’re open to the experience and willing to go with the flow and "get lost", returning home after life changing travel and our shared love of the Balkans! And of course we couldn’t not talk about what a passionate traveller did with herself during covid, including the need for a big pivot (urgh that word!) in her business. This episode is for the both the keen and novice traveller and will absolutely have you planning your next trip…which by the way IMO you should always have an eye on, especially after the “locked down” last two years we’ve had! Words cannot express the joy I have right now as we're sooooo close to getting on that plane!

Annie is a Travel Educator, Consultant, and Community Builder. She helps indie travellers create more authentic experiences by planning their own international trips. She loves helping people see the world their way -- without big organized groups or cruises -- so they can immerse themselves in the moment and their destination. She channels her passions for education and travel into teaching others the skills and resources to travel smarter, save money, and hit the road with confidence. When she’s not planning trips for herself or running the Indie Travel Collective, you can find her out in nature with her husband and little dog, Lizzy.

Understanding Our Trauma Responses with Julie Lamb

Understanding Our Trauma Responses with Julie Lamb

Join me in this week’s episode with Julie Lamb, where we talk all about childhood trauma and how it affects us as adults. Julie shares with us the four trauma responses; Fight, Flight Freeze or Fawn, identifying our own default trauma response and some practical tips to manage through it.

We talk about the difference between Big T Trauma and Little t trauma that occurs in childhood and then shows up in our adult life as those protective behaviours that served us in our early years, become unhelpful or problematic in our adult lives particularly in relationships and parenting.

My own personal journey and learning on the topics of mental health and healing has led me to understand how much of a role trauma plays in many of our lives. Having access to this this information and becoming conscious of our own patterns, is key to our ability to be able to make change. Whether you’re new to these concepts or keen to learn more about taking back control of your own trauma response, this is a must listen episode!

Julie Lamb is a therapist and intuitive business coach who has worked with trauma for 20 years. She focuses on helping individuals clear the subconscious blocks that show up their life. These blocks are often a result of trauma, even if we feel like we came from a good home. Julie helps people find their confidence to show up in business and life the way they are meant to.

When Life Doesn't Go To Plan

When Life Doesn't Go To Plan

It’s time for a long overdue solo episode! A lot has changed since my last update, including packing up our home, putting everything in storage…and our trip being delayed by a month. Yep, you read that right! So, let’s dive into what happens when things don’t go according to plan, including…

How I make decisions from a heart/soul/intuition led place and feel into my body rather than over analysing and using pros and cons lists like the old (overthinking!) me would have.
Trusting that there’s a bigger plan and everything’s working out for us.
Recognising the duality of our emotions and feeling all the feels, because even when we trust that everything’s happening for a reason, it’s ok to still have conflicting (or even “negative”) emotions come up.
Being mindful of how I’m feeling on any given day or moment and understanding that I have the choice to either honour or shift that energy.
Being present in the moment and finding joy in the little things. If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with right?!

I’m also sharing with you my newest offering, Soul Circles and the opportunity for you to join me online, on 12 June for our first circle on connecting to our Divine Feminine Wisdom. Think creativity, flow, receiving…and taking time to nourish your own soul and connect with other beautiful humans through ritual, meditation, reflection and sharing. You can purchase tickets here
calendly.com/hivecollective/soul-circle-divine-feminine-wisdon?month=2022-06 with early bird prices only $44 AUD available until Thursday 19 June, with the regular price of $55 AUD from Friday 20 May. I’d love to have you come sit in circle with me, so please reach out if you have any questions.
Note: although the tradition of circles has sat with women for generations (and I have so much respect for that), my Soul Circles are not just for those who identify as women, but are intended to be inclusive and welcoming of all humans who are feeling called to sit in ritual, reflection and sharing with others.
Topics include; travel, moving, changing plans, making intuitive decisions, feeling into decisions, emotions, disappointment, pros and cons, trust, surrender, trusting the universe, connecting to emotions, duality of emotions, spiritual bypassing, energy, honouring energy, rest, shifting energy, choice, control, being present, living in the moments, masculine and feminine energy, letting go of the outcome, Soul Circles, divine feminine energy, wisdom, sharing circle, meditation, reflection.

Uncovering Our True Purpose Through the Akashic Records with Sophie Watson

Uncovering Our True Purpose Through the Akashic Records with Sophie Watson

This episode is a deeply spiritual conversation with Sophie Watson, who shares her journey back to her own spirituality, including how she learnt (or more accurately, remembered) how to communicate with spirit and how she’s used her knowledge of the Akashic Records to heal her own life.

From a previous life as a photographer and pharmacy technician, Sophie has been faced with more than her fair share of big life events, which she openly and vulnerably shares in this chat. She talks about the times in her life where the right people and situations appeared for her in the perfect moment and the importance of focusing on what we can control when life happens, in order to consciously create a life we love.

We dive into how Sophie has used the Akashic Records personally and to support her clients to better understand themselves and their purpose. For those who are not familiar, the Akashic Records are essentially a library that holds the information about our individual souls. Through accessing the Akashic Records we can find out information about our personality, our past lives and what happens when we make choices that are out of alignment with who we really, truly are. I was so excited to learn more about this modality, and if you’re also curious I know you’re going to love diving into it with us too!

Sophie has been guiding Corporate and Entrepreneurial Women from around the world to create a life they love since 2014. What makes her work so powerful is she not only communicates with Spirit but also embraces and uses her natural gift as an empath. Sophie physically feels others emotions, physical pain and energetic blocks, enabling her to very quickly get to the root of her clients issues. She has been featured in the Huffington Post and is a regular guest on BBC Radio Berkshire in the UK.

Saying No to Mama Guilt with Molly Ryden

Saying No to Mama Guilt with Molly Ryden

This weeks episode with Molly Ryden is all about healing ourselves in the chaos of raising little ones…without the guilt. Molly talks about finding our way as mama’s, prioritising our own joy and happiness and the unrealistic expectations of society and ourselves of how we should do, and feel about motherhood.

Molly shares her experience of shifting her perspective and re-writing her own story, through managing anxiety and depression and as a new mama who spent three months in the NICU with her son with no idea how to balance the needs of caring for him with her own. Molly is all about shifting the narrative about mama’s, the guilt they feel, their responsibilities and the view that there’s a certain way we should feel about being a mama (hint; it's not all sunshine and unicorns!). She also talks about the importance of lifting up and encouraging other mama’s rather than judging or shaming them – whoa isn’t that just a breath of fresh air?! Whether you’re a mama or going to be a mama (parent) one day, I know you’ll get a lot out of this open and uplifting conversation…one which I hope we keep having more of.

Molly Ryden is a mindset and empowerment coach specialising in defeating the stigma of mom guilt. She works with clients on organising "life" and finding time to prioritise themselves and do things just for them that don't involve hiding in the bathroom and scrolling social media.

Regulating Emotions Through EFT Tapping with Jacqui Acree

Regulating Emotions Through EFT Tapping with Jacqui Acree

You’re going to love this free flowing and engaging episode with Jacqui Acree; a chat that’s a beautiful example of what happens when you meet someone and just click. Jacqui shares the power of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping, the importance of self-compassion, being woo sceptical and the (unintentional) damage done by the self-help and positive psychology movement.

We chat about the upside of being in our (early!) 40s and giving less f*cks, re-connecting to ourselves, working with our mind and body and embracing the fact that putting on our oxygen mask first can be just for ourselves rather than something we do for others (especially as mothers). Yep, that comment was an eye opener for me!

Jacqui Acree is an Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner with a BA in Counselling. Jacqui is a self-compassion advocate, goal trauma coach, and self-help disruptor. Jacqui often says that if being hard on ourself works, it would have worked by now. Jacqui is the founder of Being Human Together, an online course community where she uses EFT to empower highly sensitive women to free themselves from chronic stress, perfectionism, and their inner critic so they can live each day as their favourite version of themselves.

EFT Tapping is a science-based tool that blends acupressure and psychology to calm your nervous system, soften prickly emotions, and transform toxic thought patterns. Because it works with your body and subconscious mind instead of against them, tapping literally wires new neural pathways with relative ease. You can check out the research Jacqui refers to by Dr Peta Stapleton here https://petastapleton.com/

From Trauma and Addiction to Healing Others with Adam Miller

From Trauma and Addiction to Healing Others with Adam Miller

This episode is a vulnerable and inspiring chat with Adam Miller. Adam shares his remarkable story of overcoming trauma and addiction and the importance of aligning spiritually to be our best self, regardless of the external circumstances we find ourselves in.

Adam talks about coming from a good family but one that had lots of mental illness, leading to his own personal experience with mental illness. In the absence of being able to get “the right” help early in life, Adam began self-medicating which lead to nine years of addiction. Adam shares his story of coming through that, beginning with a stint in rehab and the self-healing journey he has undertaken since in his quest for inner peace and joy in his life.

The thing that stood out to me most throughout Adam’s story, is his determination to seek answers, and find help and support in order to be the best version of himself. If you’re seeking some inspiration about the power of healing and the ability of individuals to overcome obstacles, then this powerful episode is for you.

Adam Miller has his own mind/body trauma practice called The Edgy Saint, which uses Somatic Integrative Therapy and Energy Work to support others in their healing. Adam believes that we are all saints, or saints in the making.  But in order to realise our sainthood we have to embrace ourselves as we are. Not resist, suppress or deny anything, and not strive to be flawless and perfect, judging ourselves and feeling like failures along the way. We all have rough edges, differences and uniqueness in ways, and yet are all the same at the core. He believes the trick is to find the balance in all of it.

The researcher Adam speaks about, Peter Levine has a book called Waking the Tiger, which can be found on Amazon.

With so much goodness to explore (we LOVE a chat!) we also talk about the idea that we are always whole, never broken - even (or especially when) we are healing and the importance of following our own path rather than the “shoulds” of others or our own expectations. Elaine also explains why it’s not always necessary to relive trauma in order to heal it, how to make friends with our ego (hers even has a name!), honouring how our ego protects us and how to know whether it’s our ego or our intuition trying to tell us something.

Elaine Sarah Leek is an authenticity and energy coach, a guide and healer. She helps soul-led business owners to move through mindset blocks so they can call in clarity, confidence and cash! Elaine left her 'perfect-on-paper,' life to uncover her authentic truth and what living an aligned life meant for her... and hasn't looked back since!

The Beautiful Mess of Motherhood with Ellen Mohan

The Beautiful Mess of Motherhood with Ellen Mohan

This is such a beautiful chat with the lovely Ellen Mohan about the beautiful mess of motherhood, coming back to ourselves and letting go of expectations in order to live the life that was meant for us. Like me, Ellen is passionate about openly sharing both the ups and downs of life and sees it as part of her path to vulnerably share and create space for others to do the same.

In this episode, Ellen speaks so openly about her experience of post-natal depression, miscarriage and the huge gap between the expectations and reality of becoming a mama. We also speak about healing and growth through motherhood, forgiving ourselves, putting ourselves first, living with love and compassion, the polarity of light and shadow and the beauty and celebration of the different seasons of our life. This is a truly heart centred and vulnerable chat which is exactly what this podcast is all about. Oh, and neither of us are afraid of dropping the f bomb, so consider yourself warned if the kiddo's are around!

Ellen Mohan is a space holder for Mothers, women and folks who wish to reconnect to themselves their inner earth, a wounded healer who shares openly and deeply so we never walk alone in our pain, so that we may always be seen, heard and loved in all our phases. Ellen is a woman of the earth who is finding her voice again. She loves connecting deeply with her ancestors, the cycles of her body and the land. She is relearning and remembering the sacred the ways of the women before me.

The Power of Pilates with Kirsti Viitala

The Power of Pilates with Kirsti Viitala

A beautiful chat with my long time friend Kirsti Viitala, fellow corporate escapee and founder of Kirsti Pilates To You, where we dive into the power of Pilates and moving our body to support healing and growth.

In this episode, Kirsti and I chat about the how she started practicing Pilates, and how it’s supported her own personal growth through many transitions in life, including a shift in focus from aiming for an awesome bikini body to a more holistic appreciation of how Pilates supports the mind, body, soul connection.

We chat about the similarities and differences between the often-compared Yoga and Pilates, Kirsti’s own journey of growth and healing through movement, motherhood and starting her own business and some of the beautiful (and maybe unexpected) benefits of mastering the physical challenges of Pilates. We also talk about how much joy Kirsti’s gets from sausage rolls and champagne (yes together!)…you’re going to want to tune in to hear more about that!

Kirsti Viitala is an APEA certified Pilates teacher with over 7 years teaching experience, working in both large and small Pilates and fitness studios. Being a lover of dance and movement her whole life, she was hooked after her very first Pilates session. After a restructure in her corporate job she re-evaluated her working lifestyle and decided to follow her passion into Pilates classical teacher training, ultimately starting up Kirsti Pilates To You a few years later.

She lives with her partner and their two boys in Melbourne’s Bayside suburbs. She loves cooking, experimenting with new healthy recipes and unlike much of the rest of her life in which she loves a plan, she finds joy in going with the flow in the kitchen and using all the dishes in the house while she does it!

Learning to Surrender

Learning to Surrender

Come join me in this solo episode where I'm so excited to share a life update with you. I've been loving my guest episodes (and there's so many more awesome one's coming your way) but I've also missed chatting with you in this way!

Different to where I was in the mess a few weeks back, last week I found myself feeling complete and utter joy. Life is good, business is good, I'm in flow and we're getting really close to packing up our house and heading overseas for six months! Yep, I feel like I've been talking around the edges of this for a while, but now as the details are coming together (after we've had to change our plans completely) I'm so excited to share them with you here first!

I'm also sharing an announcement about the therapeutic modality that I'm about to start studying (so excited!) that I know is going to supercharge the results of my clients, and how I'm fully trusting that our travel will support the rebirth of my coaching offerings as I feel more called to support the growth and healing of others in different ways. All of this alongside some reflections on what's got me to this stage, how an increased awareness of my thought patterns has been key...and the power of learning to surrender!

I'd love you to give me a rating on your podcast platform (it really helps a lot!) and hit me up on socials with your feedback about the episode. I really love hearing about how the show resonates and helps support you in your journey of growth, healing and joy

The Joy of Doing What Lights You Up with Mary Zargarian

The Joy of Doing What Lights You Up with Mary Zargarian

I’m so excited to be sharing this episode with my first guest and one of my biz bestie’s Mary Zargarian about the beautiful mess of a mama on a mission to start a successful business. We chat all about the trials and tribulations of her three years of side hustling to get to a place of more heart and alignment.

Mary shares the story of shifting and evolving her business before she fully landed in her zone of genius, as she’s taken her business from a side hustle (while working in Silicon Valley nonetheless!) to a full-time entrepreneur and CEO of a busy OBM agency. We talk all about the myth of overnight success, discovering what really lights us up, finding personal and family balance and the importance of getting the right personal and business support along the way.

Mary Zargarian is the Online Business Consultant that ambitious women in business need if they’re ready to separate from their busy selves so they can grow a business with more heart and soul. There’s a lot of hats we wear as entrepreneurs and Mary helps her clients leverage their strength in business and build in systems to support the rest.

Is Love, Actually All We Need?

Is Love, Actually All We Need?

Happy Love Month Lovers! Love is something that has been coming up a lot for me lately, and with it being February, how could this episode not be all about love?!

Love is such a big topic and there are so many facets to it. If you had've asked me about love in the past, straight away, I would have thought about falling in love and love for others, but that's not actually where this episode is going. I will talk about that, of course, but what I really want to talk about us love in its entirety...love as energy, as a vibration, as a frequency, and the importance of loving ourself first.

Come join me as I share my recent experience of re-evaluating the role of love in my life, how I had been blocking love, the actual vibration and frequency of love (and it's not just woo my friend, it's quantum physics ;)) and how love, boundaries and compassion go hand in had. I've also got some really awesome and simple tips for raising your love vibration and consciously inviting more (self) love into your life.

This episode has so much of my heart in it (pardon the pun!) and I really hope you enjoy it. Don't be shy to hit that rating button and share with your friends!

The Joy of Slowing Down

The Joy of Slowing Down

These last two years have been HECTIC for everyone. On top of "you know what" we've also brought a baby into the world, juggled three businesses between us (one starting up, another closing down), moved house and tried to navigate all of the things that have come up along the way.

By the end of 2021, I was EXHAUSTED and I made an out of character decision to take a step back from everything and focus on what brought me joy. Sounds like fun right? Well it was great to begin with and then all the shadow work started to appear.

In this second episode I talk all about the fear of slowing down, setting boundaries while maintaining relationships, trusting that everything is happening for us, not to us and the power that comes from prioritising our own needs in order to be the best version of ourselves for ourselves (and others). These past weeks have been so eye opening for me and I hope that sharing it might also help you too.

I'd love you to pop a rating up for me if you loved the podcast and send me a DM over on Instagram to let me know what you thought and if any of this resonated for you.

Welcome to This Messy, Beautiful Life!

Welcome to This Messy, Beautiful Life!

Hello and welcome to the very first episode of This Messy, Beautiful Life!

In this episode I'll share some of the juicy stuff about me and how I've been called to start up this podcast. I'm on my own path of growth, joy and healing and I want to change the narrative that because we're healing it means we're broken, because it's just simply not true!

Life is a journey (let's count how many times I say that in each episode!!) and I believe that the power of vulnerability and storytelling can help empower us to embrace all the wonder and joy of this messy, beautiful life.

I'm going to let this episode speak for itself, so let's jump in!

Erin xx
