Within the scope of E-Shahrazad project, 10 podcasts were prepared based on the interview

conducted as part of the Methodology study developed on the use of digital storytelling in adult education and intergenerational learning. The interview was hosted by Alison Mott and Antonia Liguori with participation of Fatma Akay, Deniz Demirel, Sinem Özcan, Hanna Urbanovich and Jacopo Sgro.

Digital storytelling is not just the process of creating something digital, but is more about making sure that people are listening to each other, learning from each other. Digital storytelling is when a group of people engage in a dialog for the production of something that is digitally made.

Digital storytelling  is usually workshop based activity that can be organized within 3 days-5 days or one day depending on participants ability and goes to 5 steps, depending on the complexity of the project. People can witness the transformation of a narrative from a story that has been told and shared during the story circle.

Digital storytelling workshops are not about teaching people how to write a good story but it's about making sure that they know a new language in writing and video editing.

Digital storytelling is more inclusive and more participatory and to create space for participants to explain themselves, their feelings and their ideas.

Digital storytelling is about transferable skills, it's about being open and not being afraid of saying you don’t know because people are learning from each other.

Digital storytelling can be conversational storytelling in which instead of working on a personal story individually, they could work one young person with a more adult person together.

We need to be flexible, we need to enable everyone to tell a story from a personal perspective, that can be somebody else's story. We also use storytelling to imagine the future. And sometimes those stories are a bit more fictional. So there are still personal perspectives captured in a story. But they are about imagination.

Digital storytelling is a collective creativity.

Digital storytelling is innovative because it enables creativity and creativity therefore generates something new every time it is applied.

Digital storytelling workshop is the creation of a safe space for everyone to share whatever they want to share. It is about making sure that all the participants or the stories created and they represent what that particular individual feels that is something they want to share in that particular moment.
