Established in 1994, EIF is part of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Group. Based in Luxembourg it has over EUR 10 billion of Net Equity Commitments across over 550 funds all over European Union and Accession Countries.

In the #4 episode of EstVCA LP Insights, we were truly happy to welcome Ene Õunmaa - Senior Portfolio Manager at Swedbank Investeerimisfondid AS – the first and largest asset management company in Estonia, which has been operating since 1994 and manages pension funds, investment funds, and institutional investment portfolios.
Ene has extensive experience managing investment portfolios, including private equity, real estate, bonds, and listed equity.
EstVCA LP Insights – Episode 3: Staffan Jåfs from eQ Plc
In the #3 episode of EstVCA LP Insights, we were honoured to meet Staffan Jåfs – the Head of Private Equity at eQ Plc - the leading independent asset management platform in Finland. Staffan is heading an 8-people seasoned investment team with a long-term focus on lower mid-market buyout funds in Europe and the US as well as private credit strategies in Europe. He has vast experience in designing and executing full-service separate account strategies for clients, including investment advice and execution, portfolio administration and comprehensive, transparent client reporting.
In the episode, Staffan guides us through eQ’s investment strategy, which focuses on low mid-market funds, where they see the greatest potential, and where valuations are more attractive. As to their due diligence process, Staffan explains that they tend to concentrate more on smaller regional events and 1:1 meetings with funds, so larger conferences are not the place to meet the eQ team very often. During the analysis of funds’ track records, Staffan points out the importance of presenting clear and honest track record instead of core and non-core results with too many explanatory notes.
EstVCA LP Insights – Episode 2: Chris Wade from Isomer Capital
Chris is the Co-Founder & Partner at Isomer Capital. He is an experienced founder, advisor, startup mentor and technology executive. Prior to Isomer, he was the founding director of the Venture Capital Unit for the UK government where he cultivated over $1bn invested from the US and Asia into fund and direct company opportunities.
As a venture partner at Octopus Ventures and Entrepreneur First he is an active value-add non-executive director and has mentored 15 companies to successful seed funding. Chris co-founded Cambridge Positioning Systems which was sold to a global semiconductor firm in 2007, prior to which he worked for 15 years in technology operations at US-based DSC, where he assisted in its $4bn sale to Alcatel, and at Nortel. Chris holds a BSc in Physics and Chemistry from Leeds University.
