Monica R. Pierre is a registered nurse who earned a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Texas Baptist University. With experience as a travel nurse and healthcare administrator, Monica’s path has led her to publish a self-help memoire that offers both inspirational wisdom and encouraging hope. 

Listen in as Monica shares parts of her journey through brokenness and wellness that includes a pivotal season of growth on the Hill.

Episode 18: Justin Hayes ('00)

Justin Hayes (’00) and Christie (White) Hayes (’00) met on a mission trip to Germany with the BSM. They married soon after graduating and now reside in Tyler with their six children.  
Justin earned a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served in Youth Ministry for ten years, and the couple also lived for eight years serving in Uganda. In 2018, Justin helped found The Fostering Collective, which recruits and shepherds Christ-centered families in East Texas to help children in foster care. The Hayes family sees foster care as a wonderful ministry their whole family can share while walking along in the journey with other families.
Listen in as Justin shares stories of God's goodness, memories made while living on campus, and insights into the meaningful role of investment and gratitude.

Kimberley (Attaway) McElroy completed her Masters of Arts in Christian Ministry in 2018 and currently serves as Children's minister at First Baptist Church, Lee Summit, Missouri.

Episode 15: L.B. Nunnally ('22)

L.B. Nunnally has spent the last 24 years in finance, the last 8 as the founding principal of Towerhouse Financial, an investment advisory firm in McKinney. He and his wife of 23 years have raised two amazing daughters. L.B. has also played golf competitively, attempting to qualify for the U.S. Open during his time at ETBU. Listen in as L.B. shares the importance of coming back, working hard, and “finding right”. Solid shout-outs to Dr. Warren Johnson, Stan Baker, Dr. Sandy Hoover, and Dr. Bob Utley.

Reverend Morris Brock ('54) earned his Bachelor's Degree in Religion with a minor in History from ETBC in 1954. After pastoring several churches in Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas, Reverend Brock has spent his retirement years in Marshall and frequently comes to campus for events.

Episode 13: Quantel Williams ('18, '20)

Quantel Williams ('18, '20) received both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from ETBU. Quantel was active in leadership across campus including serving as Student Government Association President and as a Resident Assistant in Residence Life. He has served in a variety of ministry capacities and now is the Director of Residence Life at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

Richard graduated with a BBA in Management and a minor in Economics/Finance. Richard met his wife Amy at ETBU and currently works as a Nurse Anesthetist in Tyler, Texas. Richard's grandfather attended ETBU and later served on the Board.

Pete Rose (’96) is Assistant Principal at Louise Durham Elementary School in Mena, Arkansas. A former Marine, Pete pitched for Coach Kneipp as an ETBU Tiger in the nineties. Pete and Leilani have three grown children and five grandsons. Their son, Austin, is a Freshman angler on the ETBU Bass Team. Listen to hear about Pete’s time as a Tiger, his current connections to the Hill, and how the Lord is using him today as an educator.

Kenneth Vines (’00) earned a BA in Spanish with a minor in Religion. Kenny grew up in Houston, spent time as a Marine, and came to ETBU at the age of 28. Jacqueline Ramos (’12, ’17) holds a BA in Psychology (Pre-professional concentration) and an MA in Counseling. Currently, Jacque works as an LPC for Sparrow House Counseling and serves on staff as the Associate Care and Counsel Minister at Eastside Community Church in Dallas, Texas. Shaune Martinez ('96) and Kristie Banks Martinez ('95) have been married for 23 years, have a nine year old daughter, and live in Kristie’s hometown of Tyler, TX.  Shaune spent the first 25 years of his career developing programs and people within non-profit organizations.  He now serves as a financial advisor and a non-profit board member in East Texas and continues to help people and organizations plan for the future.

Meagan lives on a small hobby farm in Longview with her husband, Weston, five kids, 100 chickens, and 15 cats. She is a soccer mom, PTA President, and drives a minivan, but she listens to Ben Rector, so she’s still kinda cool. Her favorite way to serve those in her home, church, and community is by baking the world’s best chocolate chip cookies. A 2009 graduate of ETBU, Meagan also served as Student Activities Coordinator.

As you will hear, Bob continues to pursue his calling by conducting Bible Conferences and Revivals in the U.S. and abroad.

For those who had “Dr. Bob” in class, you’ll be surprised to know the word “croak” only occurs once in this conversation.
