How do you grow as a disciple of Jesus? It's a combination of Scripture, Prayer, and Community. Of course that's not everything, but without doing these things by God's grace, we will not become more like Jesus. In this episode, we start with Scripture and tackle how to and how not to read the Bible. Ultimately, the Bible is not about us, but it is for us. It's about God and what he is doing.

In this episode, we share about what we are processing and learning as we think about racism in our country. Our heart in this episode is to encourage people who follow Jesus to stand as Kingdom citizens over against any political ideology or affiliation. As disciples of Jesus, we want to advocate for black people in our country and it starts with a humble, empathetic posture.

In our first ever episode we share briefly about our journey, the heart behind this podcast, and we get into the big picture of what means to be a disciple. We break down what the word "disciple" means, why it's important, why discipleship is more simple--and at the same time more difficult--than we'd like to think.
