It took me quite a while to get this to be honest - I didn't get the connection between how I felt about myself and what I was experiencing in my outer world.In fact, it is that connected that if you just focused on improving your sense of self worth, your sense of deserving, you can change your outer reality by default. Lately I have been feeling a little grumpy and frustrated and I didn't want my energy going down that rabbit hole of 'everything is going wrong', things just aren't working out for me - this awareness is just one of the bonuses of being an alignment coach...

So I have revived my daily practice of keeping my 'get to do list'. 

Remember that your life is someone else's dream life and you have far more in your life than you realise if you just stop to notice. Even the simple stuff. So if you feel a little down in the dumps, get your journal out and make your 'get to do list' and just watch that energy shift in the right direction.

56. So What's Your Story?

Change your story, change your life - starting with awareness.

I wanted to cover a subject close to my heart because this really is at the centre of all manifesting - both wanted and unwanted and that is 'our story'. We tend to do things, say things on a day to day basis that are keeping us stuck. 

A bit like a re-run of an old movie that just keeps playing the same script over and over again. And when we play the same script over and over again, we get the same results over and over again. So we start our days knowing exactly what is going to happen. We do the same old things, talk to the same old people, moan about the same old stuff. Yes, our lives can end up a bit like groundhog day!

So if your life isn't as great as you want it to be then we really need to start changing the story we are telling ourselves. By telling the same story day in day out, we just keep repeating the same patterns. Awareness is the first step to changing this and in this episode we explore this more and look at the first steps to changing our stories so that we can change our lives.

55. What Do You Want To Do More Of?

So we are continuing with our theme of creating our year instead of traditional goal setting so grab your journal and ponder the question for this session to add to your blueprint for the year ahead. 

What do you want to do more of this year? 

So think back over the past year and consider the parts of the year that you particularly enjoyed.  This can be something that you did regularly or it can be a one off event that you really enjoyed and makes you smile or feel  joyful whenever you think about it. 

Is this something that you want to include more of in your life? 

Is it something you want to enhance even further so that is even more enjoyable?  

It doesn't have to be anything ground breaking either.  It can be an everyday thing that you do for yourself or with people you enjoy spending time with. 

It is fun to make a list that you review regularly to see if you can incorporate at least one thing from the list every week.  

If you did this, you are increasing your enjoyability factor by 52 times or more over the next year - there may be some things that you can choose to do a few times a week or even daily! 

Here are some examples of some of the things I want to do more of this year: 

  • Lunch dates with my husband
  • Snuggling with the kids to watch a movie
  • Fun family swimming sessions
  • Manifestation Journaling
  • Blogging and newsletters
  • EFF Tapping to manage my energy
  • Short feel good workouts like Yoga or walking in my lunchbreak
  • Long relaxing bubble baths
  • Reading a great book
  • Pampering myself

Just some examples of things that make me feel good and that I want to include more of this year.   There are things on this list that are easy to include in my week and others that need a bit more planning - but getting these things down on paper really helps me to keep them at the forefront of my mind so that I can go back to this list and plan in what feels good on a week by week basis. 

Taking the time to do this and act on your list not only contributes to your wellbeing but it also reinforces your belief that you deserve to have fun and feel good. And we all know that feeling good as much as possible is the best way to create and manifest even more of what we want in our lives. 

So have fun with this.  Write a long list of what you want to do more of this year, then get your diary out and schedule in time for at lest one thing over the next week. Because you are soooo worth it!

54. What Passions Do You Want To Focus On This Year

So over the past few sessions we have been adding layers of ideas and questions to help you make this a great year without the traditional goal setting and here is another question for you to help create that blueprint even further. 

What passions do you want to spend time on this year? 

And let's face it, it you are anything like me, your life is pretty full in one way or another - organising family life, running a home,  your career or whatever else it maybe for you.  

But are you taking any time for yourself to do what you are passionate about?  

Do you even know what you are passionate about right now? 

If you don't then ask yourself this question: If time or money were no object, what would I most like to spend my time doing? 

For me it is creating content like this and as a busy mum I am very creative about weaving in time to create and record these podcasts! My other passions include: Writing blog posts, which I now combine with my podcasts to create the content so that people have the choice whether to listen or read Journaling and scripting - which I will be focusing a lot on this year - both personally and as a tool to help you with your alignment. 

Creating visualisations - also more of these coming your way very soon.

Even if you have to wait till the kids are sleeping or get up earlier or whatever other creative ways you can for in whatever you are passionate about. Because if you are passionate about it, then it deserves to be in your life in some way.

53. What Do You Want To Be Known For This Year?

I hope you enjoyed creating your theme for the year and making that list of the person that you want to be for the coming year and beyond! In this episode I have another question for you to help you create a great year and that is: What do you want to be known for this year? 

So to do this, you need to imagine for a moment that you are at the end of the year looking back over what you have achieved this year.  And you can either do this as a journal entry or you can imagine that you are having a discussion with someone you are close with - or even your higher self.  Whatever feels good to you... 

  • What are you talking or writing about.  
  • What was your greatest achievement this year - you may have more than one! There may be a few key areas that you have achieved some great things over the year. What are they? Capture whatever comes up for you... 
  • Did you finally feel better about who you are?
  • Did you do something different with your family life?
  • Did you take a big step forward in your business?
  • Did you get that promotion you were after at work?
  • Did you build a special relationship with someone?
  • Did you improve your relationship with a family member?
  • Did you improve your self talk?
  • Did you get healthier, fitter or slimmer?
  • Did you get something done around the home?
  • Did you become more organised and put systems in place that helped you with life?
  • Did you get rid of some stuff that is holding you Back?
  • Did you finally feel that you are worthy and deserving of the best things in life? 

Really get into this - don't just consider what you achieved but also think about what it added to your life.   How did it make you feel?  What is different as a result? Do you have more abundance, more love? More understanding? More compassion? 

Enjoy creating your year with this idea and as always I will be back soon with more ideas that help you get aligned and create that life you love.

52. Under Pressure?

Since a virus the whole family had between Christmas and New Year, I have felt the pressure building up in my head - manifesting as blocked sinuses and ears and it has been driving me mad! So why is it only this week that I realised that I am feeling under pressure in general and that maybe the blocked pressure I feel in my head is just a manifestation of what I am feeling inside coming into physical form!

As an Alignment Coach I am surprised I didn't think about this before but then we don't often see what is right in front of us! Since acknowledging this and EFT tapping around it amongst many other things, I can feel the pressure easing off.

So next time you find yourself with something physically that is causing discomfort, pressure, overwhelm or pain - consider what areas of your life may causing this mentally and whether the physical sensation is reflecting what is going on inside.You might just find that giving a certain area the attention it deserves can help ease or dissolve any physical manifestation...

51. Who Do You Want To Be This Year

So in the last episode we talked about creating a theme for the year and I shared what my theme was for 2020 and also what I chose for the last couple of years. Doing this really creates a foundation that gives you focus for the year so if you haven't listened to that episode - number 50. Then please do go back to that one later. 

So let's focus on the next building block.  

The next idea that can help you to create your year by design, not by default - and this one deserves a lot of attention because if you really focus on this one, it can totally change your world for the better. 

And that is: Who do you want to be this year? 

So grab a pen and paper or even better, your journal and get thinking about this one as it really is a powerful way to guide you though your day to day life. 

Who we are underpins so many areas.   It helps us to create the person that we want to be. It provides us with a navigation system that guides how we interact with others. It provides us with a way of being that feels good. It provides us with a focus for our day to day attitudes and behaviours. 

This really is powerful stuff. And to help you create your own blueprint of who you want to be, I wanted the share some of the things I have journalled about that is shaping the way I want to be this year: 

  • I am enough
  • I am worthy and deserving
  • I add great value to the lives of others
  • I approve of myself
  • I love who I am
  • I create my own reality 
  • I hold space for others to believe in themselves
  • I hold space for others to create their best life through their energy and perspective
  • I seek first to understand, I am a great listener
  • I keep my commitments to myself others 

These are just some examples of who I want to be over the next year and beyond and it feels so good to focus on these qualities in addition to my theme of the year... ... and for me they compliment each other beautifully to build that blueprint for the next 12 months and more.

50. What Is Your Theme For The Year?

What is your theme for the year? So in the last episode I talked about how we need to let ourselves off the hook when we are not feeling inspired about setting goals for the year. So in the next few sessions I will be giving you ideas on how you can create your year without the traditional goal setting or you can use these ideas as the base of your goal setting when you feel ready. 

And really these sessions are to give you - and the universe - something to work with.  As we talked about in previous episodes, if we don't have some idea of where we are going then we will end up creating our life by default and not by design. 

The first way of doing this is to create yourself a theme for the year. 

So grab a piece of paper or your favourite journal and get thinking about this one. A theme can be one word, a couple of words, a phrase, a sentence - whatever feels good to you. This is a general umbrella theme that you want to guide your choices, decisions, way of being and your life. 

For example, my theme for 2019 was: Connection I wanted to feel more connected as a coach, i wanted to feel a deeper connection with loved ones and maybe this even helped me to create this podcast that feels so right for me to do?  

My theme for the year before that was: Ease and flow I just wanted life to feel more fluid and more easy going at the time and I have to say, many choices that year felt pretty easy to make and as for flow - well great things are flowing in to us all the time so this word was to remind me of that constant flow, especially on those more challenging days. 

And for this year, my phrase is: I am awake I chose this because i have grown so much in the past few years alone, particularly from a conscious creation point of view and this year's theme is to remind me that I am awake.  It reminds me that I have the power, that I can create my own life, that I can shape reality, that what I see in front of me everyday is not real, it is just a reflection of what is going on within me at any point in time. 

I love this theme.  It feels so right and exactly what I need to focus on at the moment. 

So what is your theme going to be? Whatever you choose, make it something that is meaningful to you and something that feels good and you are totally aligned with. 

And just because you choose one theme it doesn't mean you can focus on other areas that inspire you over the year.  It just provides a powerful foundation that gives you focus and allows you to grow.

49. Goal Setting Leaving You Uninspired? - Letting Yourself Off The Hook

Is goal setting leaving you uninspired? Letting yourself off the hook! As my first podcast for 2020, I was going to talk about goals - after all, it's a new year and that's what we do right, set goals? However as amazing as goals are when you are aligned and inspired, you also may have times when you feel uninspired and overwhelmed.   And when times like this happen, the resistance in us can make us feel an even bigger push to do something about it. 

It can create a force inside ourselves to MAKE those goals and do what we are SUPPOSED to do because it's the start of the year. But what does this do?  It creates more of that feeling uninspired.  Because when we are feeling uninspired that's when resistance kicks in! 

And I have been feeling this way the past couple of weeks.  Yes we had a lovely Christmas but I have felt worn out.   I started thinking about what I wanted to do with my podcast, blog, coaching, my direction.... but not in a way that felt good.  It just felt like I was forcing goals for the sake of it - because that is what I OUGHT to do. So I stopped.  I let myself off the hook.  

I let it be ok that my first podcast for 2020 is later that it was planned for. I let it be ok that I sat around with the kids watching mindless buy entertaining TV... I let it be ok that I didn't plan too much... I let it be ok that I relaxed for a while... Because it is ok to do that sometimes.  Just let ourselves off the hook! 

And you know what happened? I started to feel good again.  I started to feel like it is ok to be different. It's ok to not set goals in the traditional way just because it's a new year. Life is good.  I am good. You are good... And that is what matters! And you know what? I have had more inspiration in the past few days than I have had in the past few weeks.  Because it's ok to do things my way and not the way everyone else expects me to. Or should that be 'what I believe is expected of me'.... 

So do what feels good to you.  If setting goals and New Year resolutions is your thing, go for it.   If the very thought of doing it makes you want to run for the hills, then just let it go for now. And let yourself off the hook. You might be surprised how relaxation can clear a foggy head and make way for the inspiration to come when you least expect it. So until next time - let it all go if that feels better.

So do you feel like you can truly be yourself?  It was something that someone said to me yesterday that really got me thinking about this. So when you are around your family, friends or work colleagues are you who you really want to be or are you being who you think others want you to be. It is easy to take on other peoples energy and start to just be like the people you are with at the time.  It's easy to get drawn into the moaning and groaning around you rather than choosing to be your higher energy self. But if you are a high vibe person (and I know you are as you are listening to this podcast!) then you are doing others a disservice by not being that ray of sunshine in your day to day life. It's time to be your true self - that person who keeps their own energy high and ripples that great energy to and through all the people you meet. Be more of the real you!

In this episode, we talk about words and how they are so powerful.  After all, everything we say is an affirmation...and as I said in the last podcast, your dominant thoughts create those strong emotions and those thoughts and emotions are caused by the words that you use every day. If you could spend just 1 day minimum jotting down the thoughts that you think, you would quickly see why your outer world is the way it is right now.  It will reflect what you are focusing on the most. The first step to turning anything around is to be aware.  Aware when we are thinking those thought that are creating what we don't actually want.  We need to stop manifesting by default. This can seem like a negative exercise yet this is really pure gold because once you recognise your words, thoughts and emotions, you can start to turn them all around.

So how do we stop manifesting what we don't want - and I'm not talking about those times when contrast is very necessary - I am talking more about manifesting by default due to the signal we are omitting day after day. Whatever you are putting out into the world, you are attracting back.  Life is a mirror and this is not something you can switch off.  It is turned on 24/7 and this does not mean we need to get paranoid about our thoughts - it's impossible for us to be positive every minute of the day.

But we can consider our dominant thoughts more so that we start to change our vibration around what we are manifesting so that we can align with that version of ourselves that we prefer - in any area of our lives. In this episode I talk about those habitual thoughts - the things that you are thinking about again and again which are causing the same result day after day and it's the strong emotions attached to those thoughts that we need to look out for.

So let's talk about the energy of neediness vs gratitude and how this affects your energy. Everything that you transmit, through your energy, words and actions is a mirror for what comes back into your life.   The universe only says 'yes' so think about the difference between the two ends of the scale. Neediness is creating an energy of 'lack' and 'I don't have' so guess what you line up with. Gratitude creates an energy of 'abundance' and 'I have' and guess what this lines up with. So take every area of your life and think about what energy you are putting out there today - because neediness repels what we want and gratitude attracts what we want so be more conscious about what you are creating in your world.

Some time ago when I discovered the 5-Step Manifestation process which I have used for some time now.  It has been a great tool for helping me to push forward in so many areas of my life - one of them being this podcast...But it also highlighted how unclear I was about hat I actually wanted.  I'd sit down with one of the audios and I would go blank?  Wow, what did I actually want in each of the areas of my life. And it made me realise that if I don't actually know what I want - how is the universe, source energy or whatever higher power there is within me - going to create what I want in my life? So how about you - do you actually even know what you want?  I sat down with each area one by one and made a list of what I wanted to focus on. Once you decide on your areas of focus, you will be amazed how easy it then it to align to that.  So in this episode, I run through some questions for each area of your life so that you can get clear on what you want for each of them: Health & Wellbeing, Family Life, Confidence & Way of Being, Relationships, Wealth, Career & Purpose, Your Home. If you are struggling with some of these, use the heading of 'happiness' and think about what it actually means to you. And knowing all this, knowing what you want to actually focus on is the first step in actually creating it.  This is aligning with a life you love and not a life by default.

So more on that subject of upgrading your life and out with the old and in this session I wanted to talk specifically about your wardrobe.So what is your wardrobe saying about you?I recently cleared out mine and it feels so good.  I realised that the items of clothing I was hanging onto was ridiculous.  At the time of recording this, I have lost around 45lb so many things that were just too big or way past their best. I was keeping stuff because it was familiar to me and 'just in case' - or I was telling myself it would do for 'just around the house' - yeah right, great energy feeling like a scruffy bag lady walking around you home right?And I thought about what this was saying about me.  I came up with things like: I don't deserve to feel good, I'm not worthy, I might fail and put the weight back on.And I thought about how it felt after I had cleared it out.  I came up with things such as: spacious, expansive, allowing something better to come into my life, fresh and new, space for more.So it is time for you to do the same?  Do you have a wardrobe full of old stuff that you no longer love?  Do you have drawers crammed with clothes that you don't even know you have any more?  If so, start creating a new level of respect with your wardrobe and upgrade this area of your life - you are so worth it!*EAM = Energy Alignment Method (not energy alignment management as I said in the episode).

Let's talk about upgrading your life (and even maybe your loo too lol!) How many of us actually just settle with what we have in our lives?  All this old tattered stuff and things that no longer serve us just create an energy that isn't aligning us with a life we love. So what are you tolerating in your life?  What are you putting up with that feels stagnant and creates a feeling of lack or unworthiness. Everything that you clear out or upgrade aligns you with more of what you do want. Do you have something that you have wanted or needed to do for ages because doing it will actually benefit you in some way?  Well I had something that I have been meaning to sort it for ages and it was even something that saved me money! It made me realise how this had built up as mental clutter and that I could of actually done this thing a couple of months ago because the relief I experienced when I actually did it felt sooo good (not to mention the savings that I made!). So if you have something today that is going round and round your mind that you know would feel so much better if it was out of your head, make a plan today to just go and do it! Even if you can't physically have that meeting, phone that person, do that paperwork etc right this minute - at the very least make a plan to get it done and then set a definite date within the next week that you are going to get it done.You will feel so much better for it!

What you focus on expands and lets look at how you can let go of something that is bugging you today because as we all know, energy flows where your focus goes. Most of us live in the past or the future instead of enjoying the present moment.  All those old stories go though our mind again and again. So change starts by telling ourselves a different story and the quickest way to do this is to focus on the feeling instead. So focus on the feeling that you want to experience right now - this often takes the charge out of how you were feeling - because it's the feeling inside of us that is creating a lot of resistance and an energy that is not serving us. So what 'feeling' will take you out of that funk and make you feel just a little bit better.  What feeling would you like to experience right now and then think about what action you can take to experience that feeling in your life right now.

I always get the urge to declutter before the festive season and getting rid of the old feels so good and makes way for the new to come in. Decluttering has so many benefits and these reach much further than just the nice feeling of having a clean spacious room. Physically, saving the extra minutes everyday trying to find things, housework feeling a lot easier, letting go of the idea that we always need extra storage and being able to enjoy the stuff we love feels so good in itself! Emotionally it makes us feel so much lighter with less baggage weighing us down, our minds feel clearer as we have less stuff to think about.  Life feels simpler and we have more time for things that really matter in life. Nature abhors a vacuum so if there is something you want to bring into your life, no matter what it is, there is something to be said for creating space for that new energy which always helps your alignment practice.

So here's another way that you may be sabotaging your manifestation mojo without even realising it.  You may see the universe as something separate from yourself! Now this has it's place and seeing the universe as a separate entity can really help when you are doing some fun manifestation practices. And although we know deep down that we need to take 100% responsibility for our life, we do start to rely too much on that thought that the universe miraculously delivers us anything we want on a plate.
