Driving the Lexus LC 500h luxury coupe in Japan | The Thrill of Driving podcast #08 | evo India
In this week's Thrill of Driving podcast we cover two very interesting topics. The Indian automotive industry is facing its worst ever slowdown in two decades. Why is it happening? What measures should the government take to tackle this? Ed gives his opinion and we hope that the industry recovers soon. Moving on, ed drove one hell of a good looking car in Japan this week. The Lexus LC 500h is one of the most striking luxury coupes out there. How has the Japenese marque managed to create a design like this is something that needs telling. It also sports a very complicated 10-speed gearbox which uses a CVT and a torque convertor in conjunction. How does this exactly work? Is the car coming to India? We have it all answered for you in the podcast.

What is so exciting about the Kia Seltos? The Thrill of Driving Podcast #06 | evo India
This week's podcast is a little different. We've recorded it in the backseat of the Mercedes-Maybach S650. This is the most luxurious version of the S-Class you can get your hands on: it is more spacious, packs more luxury and gets a V12 engine. Safe to say we were very, very comfortable while recording this podcast. This week also saw the unveil of the Lotus Evija. It's a fully electric hypercar from Lotus, however it is a departure from the company's legacy of making lightweight, quick and affordable cars.  We're finally allowed to tell you what we think of the new Kia Seltos! We've driven it in Korea, and finally in India too. It seems to be a promising package but it will need to be prices right for it to work. We also talk about what's coming next for us: the launch of the BMW X7, 7 Series and the Porsche Macan!

Is India ready for electric cars and bikes? The Thrill of Driving Podcast #5 | evo India
With the Hyundai Kona being launched in India, we talk about the future of electric mobility in this country. The Kona is India's first long-range EV and first electric SUV too, but is it the right time to be launching something like that? We also take a look at the genesis of the electric car in India, and how it was kicked off by Chetan Maini and the ambitious Reva project. Interestingly, the Reva is still around in some way with the Mahindra e2o. Could we have anticipated that electric vehicles would have snowballed in to what they are today? The Ed gives us his thoughts.  Before cars go fully mainstream, we're probably going to see the rise of the electric scooter. Ather already has a solid product, but now manufacturers have to get over the challenges and distribution. And finally, we bid goodbye to the Volkswagen Beetle as the final one rolls of the line in Mexico.

In this episode of the Thrill of Driving, we discuss everything from the aggressive pricing of the MG Hector to the viability of electric vehicles in India. The Hector comes in at a great price and offers for the money it is asking. However, does this mean it could get the reputation of being a cheap, Chinese product? For the cover story of the July issue of evo India, Sirish went to Kerala to drive two of the most exotic supercars in the world: the Lamborghini Huracan Performante and Porsche 911 GT3. As the Indian National Rally Championship kicks off, we look at Gaurav Gill's new rally car: the Super XUV300. And finally, we talk about EVs.
