Episode #37- (Rad) Monika Sattler- Ex Consultant- Current Cyclist- Chasing the Dream
She is an ex Management consultant, current adventure cyclist and inspirational speaker with the mission to inspire others to “dare to go for it”. She believes that the first step towards a goal or a dream is the hardest but yet most important step towards achievement, self-discovery and potentially a more fulfilling life. After this initial step, you will receive more motivation, energy and opportunities to achieve your goal because you are the creator of your life path. “I took the biggest decision of my life. I quit my job with the goal to chase my dream making my biggest passion, cycling, to my living. It felt like wasting time working in a job I didnt enjoy. I failed multiple times trying to find the solution of combining the “real life” with my “dream life”. Multiple times, “reality” hit me that that what I was looking for doesn’t exist. But despite the setbacks I didn’t want to accept a life that it is not filled with passion and energy. My fear, being 90 years old and looking back and saying: “I wish, I had done this”, kept me getting up from each failed attempt to try again. With each attempt I came closer to the realization that it doesn’t exist what I was searching for. I had to create it. www.radmonika.com www.thevueltaride.com

Episode #35- Mark Allen- 6 Time Ironman Winner
This week's guest is the One and only Mark Allen. Six Time IronMan winner After competing and losing in the Ironman Triathlon Championships six times (often to Dave Scott), Allen emerged victorious in 1989, winning one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world. This was the first of six Ironman victories for Allen, the last coming in 1995 at age 37, making him the oldest winner of the event at that time. He has also excelled at the Olympic distance, winning the sport's inaugural World Championships in 1989 in Avignon, France,[2] by more than a minute. He was undefeated in 10 trips to the Nice International Championships,[3] and from 1988-1990 he had a winning streak of 21 races. I AM MARK ALLEN “I began a career as a professional triathlete in 1982. Back then doing a triathlon was a big adventure. There were no books, no videos, no coaches. But there were races, some even had prize money. The challenge was how to go faster. One month we might think the key was mileage, so we’d crank out ridiculous totals week after week. Swim 30,000 yards in seven days? Of course! Pile on 500 miles cycling and another 70 running in that same time? Why not! Was that enough? Was it too much? It was all a guess. I hope you enjoy!

Episode #32 Akshay Nanavati- Author of Fearvana
www.fearvana.com After moving to Austin, Texas from Bombay, Bangalore and Singapore, I overcame a lifestyle of drug addiction that killed two of my friends in high school. When I then decided to join the United States Marine Corps, two doctors told me that boot camp would kill me, thanks to a blood disorder I was born with. But I wasn’t about to let that stop me. Not only did I complete boot camp (with a twisted ankle, no less), but I was chosen as the honor graduate in Infantry school and went on to spend 7 months in Iraq where my job was to walk in front of our vehicle convoys to find explosives before they could destroy our vehicles. That was just the beginning of my understanding of the positive power of fear and struggle. In 2012, I left a comfortable corporate job to drag a 190-pound sled 350-miles across the world’s second largest polar ice cap for a month. I’ve swam through underwater caves, almost been killed by a falling boulder while glacier caving, experienced severe altitude sickness while climbing in the Himalayas, and suffered through heat exhaustion while running across countries. But my greatest struggle came many years after the war. I was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and consequently struggled with depression and alcohol addiction that drove me to the brink of suicide. I then spent years studying neuroscience, psychology and spirituality to not only heal my own brain, but figure out what does it take to live a happy, succesful and meaningful life. That is when I rejected the label of PTSD assigned to me and created a new one – Fearvana. I define Fearvana as the bliss that results from engaging our fears to pursue our own worthy struggle. I then wrote a book about the concept called “Fearvana: The Revolutionary Science of How to Turn Fear Into Health, Wealth and Happiness.” I was blessed and truly humbled to receive a foreword for my book from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who said “Fearvana inspires us to look beyond our own agonizing experiences and find the positive side of our lives.” Beyond these adventures into the depths of my soul and in some of the most hostile environments on the planet, I have also: Completed a Masters in Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Publications, on a full scholarship. Been trained as a coach from an ICF-accredited institution Graduated from Jack Canfield’s Train the Trainer program Started a non-profit organization called The Fearvana Foundation Built a business that allows me to work from where I want, when I want. Used speaking engagements, coaching, seminars, and consulting to help countless people like you smash through their obstacles and find bliss through struggle.

The answer was a resounding YES. By the end of the conference, we had unknowingly taken orders from three legendary U.S. Olympic swim coaches—Richard Quick, Nort Thornton and Richard Shoulberg. The great coincidence was for many years, each coach had wanted a training tool like the Vasa Trainer.
