Why 'doing the right thing' is the foundation to long term success as an estate agent
Todays podcast features eXp UK estate agent and industry veteran, Craig Stephens. In todays conversation, Craig speaks openly about some of the key lessons and observations he's picked up from decades in the industry, as well as comprehensively breaking down the importance of doing 'the right thing'. Long term success in business is determined by your reputation, and Craig believes building a strong one is the difference between surviving and thriving in business.
Price conditioning properties in 2023 | Are On The Market a threat to Rightmove?
In todays podcast we discuss the 'hows and whys' relative to conditioning property prices. Price reduction calls can often be viewed as a dreaded task for estate agents, and it's easy to see why. It's a call where we admit 'we got the price wrong' and it's a call where we are potentially letting a client know that their home isn't worth what they thought, or what they would like to achieve. Having said that, honest advice on pricing is something your clients need to hear. We debate the recent acquisition of On The Market on what that could mean for the UK market and Rightmove. The eXp Podcast agent of the week this week is Craig Stephens, our partner in Charnwood for being an incredible team player of late. We debate the importance of energy and dialling in the right mindset for the critical conversations and appointments that you're showing up to in your job/business.

"Don't get bitter, get better" - what the industry could learn from the growth of eXp, lessons from LAS VEGAS & a breakdown of start-up costs
Episode 60. Todays podcast, for the most part, is one of reflection. Host, Scott Gunn, featured on another industry podcast last week where the growth of self-employed models was debated. We unpack how that conversation went, and why (for the most part) the industry seems reluctant to acknowledge our growth and innovation, choosing instead to look for holes and criticism. We reflect on some key lessons from a recent trip to Las Vegas, and break down the true cost of starting a business with eXp (specifically the cost of compliance and onboarding). This weeks 'eXp Podcast Agent of the Week' is Mark Buchanan who has continued to reach new and incredible heights with his business, and who bravely shared his story to an audience of THOUSANDS in our recent business summit. Great work Mark, we're proud to be in business with you.

How to build a PERSONAL BRAND as an Estate Agent
Episode 58. On todays podcast we explore how to build a personal brand as an estate agent. The first thing we debate is exactly 'what' a personal brand is before discussing how to build one and the power that a 'strong brand' can have in helping you achieve your commercial goals. Key findings and take-aways to help you make more money as an estate agent.
Beyond personal branding we breakdown the eXp structure from a support point of view, providing an insight in to exactly how we help over four hundred business partners grow their business with no mid tier management or KPI's.
A special shoutout to eXp agent Adam Budd for a powerful insight into his business that he kindly shared on our internal support platform recently. Adams insights, ironically, play nicely into both of the above topics (maintaining a strong personal brand and helping others).
This weeks eXp Podcast Agent of the Week is Christopher Durrant for his incredible weight loss transformation. With more energy, confidence and clarity of thought Chris has also had some break through moments in the growth of his estate agency business, which we celebrate on todays show. This weeks tip of the week comes from Scott, who shares some great thoughts around the importance of price conditioning.

Why I left eXp - The Brenton Smith Story
Todays episode unpacks the story of Brenton Smith. Brenton was a founding territory operator at the well known hybrid agency, Purplebricks. He had a front row seat through their inception and growth but ultimately didn't see the low fixed fee model as the future of the UK market, and so partnered with eXp to do things completely his own way. It wasn't all sunshine, rainbows and high-fives though as Brenton ultimately left us. He left us to set up his own agency (completely independently) to explore the differences. On todays show, we explore his thoughts and feedback to help anybody else who is considering their business options for 2022 or beyond.

Is traditional Estate Agency dead?
The age old debate around the future of our industry has been going on for years. Is the future high street? Online? Hybrid? Is there a place for 'all comers' and if so, which infrastructure will hold the majority of market share and therefore be 'the norm' for consumers in years to come? On todays episode Ben & Scott openly discuss this opinion dividing subject to make some sense of the ever evolving landscape that is the property market.
