Ryan Coale is a development associate with the NJCAA. Junior Colleges may be one of the more undervalued places in collegiate sport and they are ripe with opportunities to succeed! This week we discuss what it looks like to work in the NJCAA front office, how to prepare for a successful career in development, and discuss the stigma that continues to plague junior colleges throughout the country.

Jalen Thomas is a former professional athlete that did not have the easiest rode to success. Why was that? Well much if it was because he didn't know what that path looked like. This week we talk about some of the biggest learning opportunities of Jalen's career, what it was like to sign that professional contract, and what life is like post-basketball.
Jalen also discusses some of his desire to help future athletes have greater success and that he is always willing and ready to help coach or mentor the next generation.

Any idea what it takes to be a professional athlete? We see the success stories each year when people get drafted into the NFL, NBA, MLB, and other sports. What about the people who take a different route though? In this episode we dig into one of the unique journeys toward becoming an professional athlete, the many steps that it takes, and what it can be like when coaches (and employers) are "on the fence" about bringing you onto their team.
