Welcome to FCS Counseling Team's first episode of our podcast, today we will be talking about Self Care Tips as we are transitioning from spring break into virtual school life. I would just like to acknowledge, that things have drastically changed over these past couple of weeks, we have had to adjust our lives including the way we do our life on a day to day basis, there are also large-scale changes happening in real time, adding to feelings of uncertainty. It is easy to feel anxious, nervous, and upset during this time which could arguably get in the way of tasks that we still need to do even though the whole world feels like it is on pause right now. It is important to still take care of your overall health which includes your physical health as well as your mental health. There are ways to stay calm during the coronavirus outbreak, flattening your personal anxiety curve to a manageable level and keeping your panic from peaking. To further help you stay centered during these uncertain times, we’ve assembled some advice for keeping anxiety at bay with the following self care tips. Welcome to the Counseling Toolkit podcast. This podcast is for FCS students by the FCS counseling team, co hosted by Frederick Pratt and Heather Tomes, along with our counseling interns, Emily Koppenhofer and Kayla Peters. We are offering strategies, techniques and tips for taking care of your mental health during this time of isolation. Sidenote: You don’t have to have a mental health diagnosis to struggle with your mental health. We want you to be the most mentally healthy person you can be. So to help you get there, we will cover a range of topics from practicing self care, stress managment, mindfulness, gratitude, positive self talk and overall wellness.
