190: How To Unlearn Toxic Diet Culture From The 90’s To Set Ourselves and Our Kids Up For Success

Growing up in the 90s, many of us were unwittingly steeped in a toxic diet culture. From ultra-skinny models gracing the covers of magazines to the relentless promotion of fad diets, hello cabbage soup, Atkins, Slim Fast, etc. The message was clear; thinner is better, and self-worth is tied to appearance. Fast forward to today, and we're now navigating a journey towards self-love and improved body image, unlearning the damaging beliefs of our youth and trying to set up our daughters (and sons) for a more positive and loving body image towards oneself.

Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) - Communication and Truth: The eclipse's dramatic expression in the sky mirrors our need for expression. Write about ways you can more authentically express your thoughts and feelings. Listening: Communication is as much about listening as it is about speaking. Reflect on your listening skills. How can you improve them to balance your throat chakra?


Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) - Intuition and Insight: The unique energy of the solar eclipse can heighten intuition. Reflect on any intuitive insights you experience. How can you better trust your intuition? Vision for the Future: The eclipse marks cycles of beginnings and endings. What vision do you have for your future? The last full moon of 2023 is on Tuesday, December 26th. Meditating during the last full moon of 2023 can be a beautiful and serene experience. Find a quiet, comfortable place to sit or lie down. Close your eyes, take deep breaths, and focus on the moon's energy. Imagine the moonlight surrounding you, filling you with calm and tranquility. You can set intentions or reflect on the year that's passed. Allow the moon's energy to guide your meditation and bring a sense of closure and renewal. Certainly, here are some journal prompts to accompany your Last full moon of 2023 meditation:

1. Reflect on the past year. What were the most significant moments, experiences, or challenges you faced in 2023?

2. Describe the feelings and emotions that arise when you think about the year coming to a close. What are you grateful for, and what would you like to leave behind?

3. Set your intentions for the new year. What are your goals, hopes, and dreams for 2024? Write them down as clearly as possible.

4. Consider the symbolism of the full moon. How can you harness its energy to support your intentions and growth in the year ahead?

5. What lessons have you learned in 2023? How have these experiences shaped you and your outlook on life?
