Looking Ahead to The 2021 NBA Draft (FSFP S2 #001)

Looking Ahead to The 2021 NBA Draft (FSFP S2 #001)

Welcome back to the Flashy Stats Fantasy Podcast! We come to you today after a months-long hiatus with our unfiltered (after all, season two of FSFP is edit-free, so our takes are right off the dome) thoughts on the top prospects for the 2021 NBA draft. Following where we think players will land in the draft, we talk through the following upcoming rookies:

1. Cade Cunningham

2. Jalen Green

3. Evan Mobley

4. Jalen Suggs

5. Jonathan Kuminga

6. Scottie Barnes

7. Davion Mitchell

8. James Bouknight

9. Moses Moody

10. Keon Johnson

We talk on some other players with rising draft stock coming out of the NBA combine and NCAA tournament like Ziaire Williams (who, by the way, did not get into a train crash… you’ll see once you listen to the episode), Tre Mann, and Jalen Johnson, as well as other prospects that we’re not huge fans of, such as Franz Wagner, Josh Giddey, and for some, Kai Jones.

We answer the burning questions going into the 2021 Draft: Should the Houston Rockets pair Evan Mobley with Christian Wood, or create a high-scoring, soup throwing backcourt by pairing Jalen Green with Kevin Porter Jr.? Is it worth it for the Oklahoma City Thunder to take Scottie Barnes at 6, or do they look for a backcourt mate for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander like Mitchell or Moody? Do the Orlando Magic take Kuminga at 5 and the best available guard at 8th, take two guards at 5 and 8, or even trade up with the Cavaliers? Who is the most NBA-ready player for the Golden State Warriors to add at 7? Is Troy Weaver the G.O.A.T. (spoiler alert: yes)? All this and much more comes with the inaugural episode of FSFP season two. We hope that you enjoy the listen!

Oh, elephant in the room – we will be touching on the NBA Playoffs in a future episode. This has been a super exciting playoffs despite all of the injuries to stars like Giannis, Trae Young, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden… well, mostly everyone… and after we know which teams are in the Finals (hopefully after tonight – Go Bucks), we’ll recap the playoffs and all of its fantasy basketball implications. Until then, enjoy this episode, and we’ll be back next week!

Week 7 Recap and Week 8 Predictions (FSFP #028)

Week 7 Recap and Week 8 Predictions (FSFP #028)

In today’s episode of the Flashy Stats Fantasy Podcast, we discuss and debate the latest news and trends in the world of fantasy basketball and the NBA.

We have created a template, splitting the episode into four unique segments, that will remain relatively similar for each week of the rest of the fantasy season – let us know if you have any ideas or criticism for how we can improve this format going forward!

Current news events:

  • Derrick Rose was traded to the Knicks from the Pistons for Dennis Smith Jr. and a pick – whose value will this affect? (Immanuel Quickley, Elfrid Payton)
  • Free KD! – Kevin Durant under COVID protocol while the rest of the Nets team continues to play + potential fantasy replacements for KD
  • Injuries to: Christian Wood, Larry Nance Jr., Marcus Smart, Lamarcus Aldridge, OG Anunoby, Deandre Hunter – Players whose value will be impacted by these injuries + who to keep on your team and who you can drop

Re-cap of last week’s games:

  • Tyrese Haliburton and LaMelo Ball (now a starter) headline the Rookie of the Year conversation with great weeks
  • Ridiculous performances by Steph Curry, both Nikola’s (Vucevic and Jokic), Fred Vanvleet, and… Kelly Oubre? Am I reading this thing right?
  • Pascal Siakam aka Spicy P becomes Jalapeño P with a great week
  • Stormin’ Norman Powell keeps rollin’
  • “PWilly” Patrick Williams is the love of Giuseppe’s life (can he get Mike on board the PWilly train? Coming after this commercial break)
  • Gary Trent Jr. and Thaddeus Young enter fantasy relevance due to key injuries on the Trail Blazers and Bulls
  • Draymond Green continues to make his last name ironic by getting every fantasy stat but points + the weirdest stat line of all time?

Predictions for next week and beyond:

  • That’s why they call him Chris Boucher (he’s back)
  • Someone’s gotta step up on the Orlando Magic – 4/5 starters injured (Free Vuc) – Chuma Okeke, Dwayne Bacon, Mo Bamba?
  • All those players people have been picking up in Memphis are going to lose their value as the team gets healthier
  • Vince triples down on his take that Michael Porter Jr. is overrated for fantasy
  • Buy low on Seth Curry
  • Joe Harris stock is going to the moon
  • It may be time to drop Immanuel Quickley soon

Potential pick-ups and advice to win your week:

  • Jakob Poeltl
  • Patrick Williams
  • Stash Caris Levert, pair with Jeremy Lamb
  • Ride the wave of Anthony Edwards and Eric Gordon
  • Pick up Kyle Anderson, drop Dillon Brooks (unless you don’t care about FG%)
  • Leave Justin Holiday and Cody Zeller on the waivers
  • T.J. McConnell is an excellent steals and assists streamer
  • Hamidou it – with SGA and Maledon out, it’s Diallo’s backcourt now!

Fantasy Basketball Adds/Drops, the James Harden Trade, & Guess That Player (FSFP #027)

Fantasy Basketball Adds/Drops, the James Harden Trade, & Guess That Player (FSFP #027)

Welcome back to the Flashy Stats Fantasy Podcast, where apparently we now talk about Luke Kennard in every episode. This week, we are coming at you with three different segments for discussion and debate. As promised, please find timestamps below for each of these:

(2:26) We start out with our recurring Guess That Player segment, one of our personal favorites and probably the funniest part of the episode. Each of us gives 5 hints about an NBA player that we are thinking of, mostly rooted in fantasy basketball stats and other interesting tidbits about the person, and the other three guys get 3 official guesses to determine who the player is. I won’t spoil who any of the players are here, but suffice to say that in the course of the first 15 minutes of this episode, we will both surprise you with our random knowledge and baffle you with our lack of common knowledge of NBA team rosters.

(19:07) After Guess That Player, we dive into the fantasy basketball winners and losers of the blockbuster trade that sent James Harden from the Houston Rockets to the Brooklyn Nets. Again, I won’t spoil who the winners and losers are here (except the most obvious winner – any strip club within 50 miles of the Barclays Center), but the players and teams that we talked about for this segment are:

The impact on Kevin Durant – James Harden – Kyrie Irving – Deandre Jordan – Joe Harris on the Brooklyn Nets

Caris Levert -> Indiana Pacers

Victor Oladipo -> Houston Rockets

Jarrett Allen (and, in turn, Andre Drummond) -> Cleveland Cavaliers

Everyone on the Rockets, mostly Christian Wood and John Wall, where about 20 shots a game just opened up

And in classic FSFP form, we got off track multiple times, including a point where we were debating whether the Pistons should pick up Kevin Porter Jr. after he set a franchise record for the Cavs, previously set by J.R. Smith, for biggest tantrum thrown during practice. We talked about players that you should trade, trade for, buy low, sell high, etc. as a result of this trade.

And lastly, we finished off the episode with 5 players to add (38:35) and 5 players to drop (47:31) at this point in the fantasy basketball season. And, for some bonus content, Vince found a way to connect all of our droppable players' struggles to our newest apparent punching bag, Luke Douglas Kennard.

Oh, as mentioned in the last episode, this recording happened about a week before our publishing date (hence why we discussed the Harden trade as if it just happened), so if you notice that a couple of these takes are outdated, we apologize for that and promise that it will be resolved soon!

Five players to add:

Deandre Jordan – Brooklyn Nets

Enes Kanter – Portland Trail Blazers (if still available)

Wendell Carter Jr. – Chicago Bulls (once he returns from injury)

Cedi Osman – Cleveland Cavaliers

Cam Reddish – Atlanta Hawks

Drop:

Anthony Edwards – Minnesota Timberwolves

Obi Toppin – New York Knicks

Austin Rivers – New York Knicks

Darius Bazley – Oklahoma City Thunder

Lou Williams aka Lemon Pepper Lou – Los Angeles Clippers

5 Fantasy Basketball Players to Add, Drop, Buy Low, Sell High, and Watch (FSFP #026)

5 Fantasy Basketball Players to Add, Drop, Buy Low, Sell High, and Watch (FSFP #026)

Welcome to the newest segment for the Flashy Stats Fantasy podcast - the (biweekly? monthly? too soon to say) 5x5. In this episode, we debate and discuss 25 players - 5 players to add and drop from waivers, target for low value in trades or sell high on while their value is up, and 5 to look out for - at this point in the 2020-21 NBA and fantasy basketball season. By the way, kudos to you if you can name the last NBA player to get a 5x5 in an NBA game, or even 2 out of the last 5 players - they're rarer than you think! I'll tell you what's not rare though is this episode. It's cooked through with hot takes, both those where we double down on previous claims and others where we talk about new players you may not have thought about for your fantasy basketball team. All in all, this was a really fun episode to record, and we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do!

Also, it needs to be noted that this episode was recorded almost two weeks ago, when we were only 7 days in to the fantasy season. We haven't been able to get it out to you until today, so some of the takes may not be valuable at this point - for example, we tell you to pick up Boucher off waivers, but he's now the number 1 ranked power forward in ESPN owned in 90% of leagues, and we said that Cole Anthony is a must-add when Markelle Fultz got injured - but we still thought that this was a fun and entertaining episode with some good options for players to keep an eye on. Obviously, a lot of these players' values changed with both the James Harden trade to the Nets that sent Levert to the Pacers, Jarrett Allen to the Cavs, and Oladipo to the Rockets, as well as various injuries that players have picked up (you'll see what I mean when you listen), so make sure to keep in mind that when we said to drop Deandre Jordan, that was before Jarrett Allen left the team!

In our upcoming episode, we will be doing a revised and shortened version of the 5x5 as well as talking about the latest NBA trades and injuries, so stay tuned for that, but until then, here are 25 players to check out in fantasy basketball right now:

ADD:

Cole Anthony - Orlando Magic

Chris Boucher - Toronto Raptors

Terrence Ross - Orlando Magic

Darius Bazley - Oklahoma City Thunder

Anyone named Cam - Johnson, Reddish - Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks

DROP:

Ricky Rubio - Minnesota Timberwolves

DeAndre Jordan - Brooklyn Nets

Will Barton - Denver Nuggets

Brandon Clarke - Memphis Grizzlies

Aron Baynes - Toronto Raptors

TRADE FOR: BUY LOW

DeAndre Ayton - Phoenix Suns

DeVonte Graham - Charlotte Hornets

Kevin Love - Cleveland Cavaliers

Kelly Oubre - Golden State Warriors

Donovan Mitchell - Utah Jazz

SELL HIGH:

CJ McCollum - Portland Trail Blazers

Gordon Hayward and Terry Rozier - Charlotte Hornets

Julius Randle - New York Knicks

Myles Turner - Indiana Pacers

WATCH:

Robert Covington - Portland Trail Blazers

Bogdan Bogdanovic - Atlanta Hawks

Bojan Bogdanovic - Utah Jazz

Patrick Williams - Chicago Bulls

Early Season Fantasy Basketball Winners, Losers, and Must-Adds (FSFP #025)

Early Season Fantasy Basketball Winners, Losers, and Must-Adds (FSFP #025)

Alright, it’s about that time. We’re a couple of weeks into the 2020-21 NBA season. The Knicks are over .500, Larry Nance is leading the league in defensive stats, and nothing really makes sense anymore. Which makes it the perfect time to reflect on some NBA players and teams that have surprised us so far this season. The one thing you can count on every year is that the team you draft in fantasy basketball will have winners, losers, and droppable players very quickly. Throughout this episode, we analyze the overperformers, the underachievers, the guys that are still on waivers in most leagues but need to be added now... and everything in between. This is peak Flashy Stats Fantasy Podcast - we debate over whether some players are just hot or are actually better than last season, look back (and at times gloat) over our previous takes that are looking like premonitions, and of course, diss each other's fantasy teams as we wind our way through this episode. It's definitely one that you can't miss out on if you want to improve your fantasy basketball team and have a laugh along the way!

Disclaimer: This episode was recorded on December 28. A lot of these takes or statistics have since become outdated. Of course, we will record episodes ratifying many of these opinions as we go along - another reason to subscribe to the pod and stay tuned!

Disclaimer #2: If you're a fan of the players or teams we talked negatively about or called "losers" in this episode, we apologize... but also, you may be listening to the wrong podcast.

Players discussed in this episode:

Brooklyn Nets - Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Caris Levert, Taurean Prince - Cleveland Cavaliers - Darius Garland, Collin Sexton (big fan of the duo name Sexland btw), Isaac Okoro, Larry Nance Jr., Kevin Love - Charlotte Hornets - Terry Rozier, Lamelo Ball - New York Knicks - Elfrid Payton, Alec Burks, Julius Randle, RJ Barrett (for your own sanity, ignore our Knicks takes lol) - Golden State Warriors - Stephen Curry, Kelly Oubre, James Wiseman - Toronto Raptors - OG Anunoby, Chris Boucher (the new Jonathan Issac - you heard it here first) - Los Angeles Clippers - Luke Kennard, Paul George - Phoenix Suns - Cameron Johnson (early 50-40-90/MVP candidate, according to Mike), Mikal Bridges, Deandre Ayton, Chris Paul - Houston Rockets - John Wall, James Harden - Washington Wizards - Bradley Beal, Russell Westbrook - Detroit Pistons - Killian Hayes, Blake Griffin - Minnesota Timberwolves - Anthony Edwards - Chicago Bulls - Zach Lavine, Coby White, Wendell Carter Jr. - Oklahoma City Thunder - Darius Bazley, George Hill - New Orleans Pelicans - Brandon Ingram - Sacramento Kings - Tyrese Haliburton, Richaun Holmes - Memphis Grizzlies - Dillon Brooks - Orlando Mgic - Terrence Ross - Miami Heat - Tyler Herro - Denver Nuggets - Will Barton (literally lost Giuseppe $800 last weekend by missing a layup)

Week 1 Waiver Wire Pickups + All I Want for Christmas (FSFP #024)

Week 1 Waiver Wire Pickups + All I Want for Christmas (FSFP #024)

It's finally here! The NBA season tipped off this week, and with it, so does a new weekly installment on the Flashy Stats Fantasy Podcast (I know, I know, you're more excited about the latter). Though we recorded this episode before the opening night matchups, we didn't need to see Nets vs. Warriors (sorry for doubting you Kevin Durant) or Lakers vs. Clippers (not sorry for doubting you Luke Kennard) to pick out some of the most over and under owned players in fantasy basketball right now. To us, there is a huge disparity for some players between their actual value and their percentage owned in fantasy, and we point out some of those players in this episode (full list below). After going through some of the most underrated and over owned fantasy basketball players to pick up off the waiver wire week 1 - or as we like to call them, our gifts under the tree and coal for Christmas players - we share our Christmas wishes with you all. Ranging from as big as the Detroit Pistons winning an NBA championship to a healthy season for Kristaps Porzingis, we share all that we want for Christmas to wrap up this episode! The full list of players that we noted for this list (don't worry, we didn't have time to cover them all in this episode) are listed below:

Players under the tree (potential waiver wire pickups for your team):
Duncan Robinson - Miami Heat, Seth Curry - Philadelphia 76ers, Davis Bertans - Washington Wizards, Elfrid Payton - New York Knicks, Wendell Carter Jr. - Chicago Bulls, Goran Dragic - Miami Heat, PJ Washington - Charlotte Hornets, Dillon Brooks - Memphis Grizzlies, Killian Hayes - Detroit Pistons, OG Anunoby - Toronto Raptors, Harrison Barnes - Sacramento Kings, Mikal Bridges - Phoenix Suns

Stocking stuffers (our deep sleepers - under 20% owned - guys to not pick up, but look out for on waivers if they get hot):

Darius Bazley - OKC Thunder, Gary Harris - Denver Nuggets, Joe Harris - Brooklyn Nets, Jae Crowder - Phoenix Suns, Patrick Williams - Chicago Bulls, Aron Baynes and Norman Powell - Toronto Raptors, Kevin Knox - New York Knicks, Gary Trent Jr. - Portland Trail Blazers, Dorian Finney-Smith - Dallas Mavericks, Nemanja Bjelica - Sacramento Kings, De'Andre Hunter - Atlanta Hawks, Shake Milton - Philadelphia 76ers, Chris Boucher - Toronto Raptors, Devin Vassell - San Antonio Spurs, Mo Bamba - Orlando Magic

Over-owned players/Coal for Christmas/Socks for Christmas:

Marc Gasol - Los Angeles Lakers, LaMelo Ball - Charlotte Hornets, Tyler Herro - Miami Heat, Michael Porter Jr. - Denver Nuggets, Gordon Hayward - Charlotte Hornets, Myles Turner - Indiana Pacers, DeMarcus Cousins - Houston Rockets, RJ Barrett - New York Knicks, Anthony Edwards - Minnesota Timberwolves, Bol Bol - Denver Nuggets

If you're curious about any of our picks above, make sure to listen to the episode to understand our rationale behind the selection! We wish we had time to go through all of these players and teams, but we hope that you got enough from this episode to succeed in your fantasy basketball league through your waiver wire pickups!

If you want to send us constructive criticism, episode ideas,or just chat, you can reach us on Twitter @FlashyStatsPod, on Instagram @flashystatsfantasysports, and on email at flashystatspod@gmail.com. Our next episode will likely be a week 1 recap or looking ahead to fantasy week two after a short Holiday break, so stay tuned for that!

Have a safe and Happy Holidays, and we'll see you guys again in the New Year.

Looking Ahead to the NBA Season with The Towel Boys (FSFP #023)

Looking Ahead to the NBA Season with The Towel Boys (FSFP #023)

Guys - the NBA season starts tomorrow! Obviously this may be the shortest offseason in NBA history, but I still can't believe that the season is already here. While it was a compact offseason with little superstar movement, there were a lot of exciting trades, stories, signings, like CP3 to the Suns, the Westbrook and Wall swap, the entire 2025 draft class going to the Thunder, and James Harden spending more time at the strip club buffet than the Rockets practice facility.

Anyways, I am so excited to bring you our first collab episode today. We are joined in this one for a conversation with The Towel Boys, a pair of NBA-based podcasters, where we discuss some of the most exciting teams we are looking forward to watching for the upcoming 2020-21 NBA season. There are 6 of us in this one - yes, it gets a little hectic - and we came up with 5 different teams that we thought made some interesting offseason moves. We talked potential starting lineups, rankings/records predictions, potential MVP candidates, and so much more throughout this episode, and we had a ton of fun with it. For reference, the teams and lineups we discussed were:

Detroit Pistons: Killian Hayes, Derrick Rose (or Delon Wright), Svi (not gonna try on that last name), Blake Griffin, Mason Plumlee

Philadelphia 76ers: Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Danny Green, Tobias Harris, Joel Embiid

Dallas Mavericks: Luka Doncic, Tim Hardaway Jr., Josh Richardson, Maxi Kleber (or Dorian Finney-Smith), Kristaps Porzingis

Portland Trail Blazers: Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, Derrick Jones Jr., Robert Covington, Jusuf Nurkic

Phoenix Suns: Chris Paul, Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, Deandre Ayton

BONUS team we talked about - Utah Jazz: Mike Conley, Donovan Mitchell, Joe Ingles, Bojan Bogdanovic, Rudy Gobert

We're looking forward to some great NBA basketball this season, and are glad we can get a preview out to you guys before it officially begins!

Make sure you stay tuned for that!

In today's episode, we finish off our positional rankings for the 2020-21 NBA fantasy basketball season! Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time before the season's start to go through the power forwards and centers of the league - so hopefully we'll be able to talk about those players more as the season progresses (spoiler: Vince loves centers. He drafts like 6 of them every year) - but we capped off our small forwards series here today with our top 6! Want to Win your Fantasy Basketball Draft? Tips, Tricks, and Strategies to DOMINATE your League (FSFP #021)

Want to Win your Fantasy Basketball Draft? Tips, Tricks, and Strategies to DOMINATE your League (FSFP #021)

Guys... don't talk to Vince for a little while. He spent a solid amount of this episode bragging about nabbing Bradley Beal in our dynasty fantasy basketball draft, and between our recording and publishing date, the John Wall and Russell Westbrook trade went down. So he's pretty fragile.

But ANYWAYS, welcome back to the Flashy Stats Fantasy Podcast - it's been a while! In this episode, we break down tips, tricks, and various strategies to win your fantasy basketball draft this season. Whether you're doing a snake or auction draft, points or 9 category, re-draft or dynasty, we think that there are some great tips here to give you the edge in your league. We also gave our own personal favorite sleepers (guys like Coby White, Sekou Doumboya, and Mikal Bridges), breakout stars to draft high in the rounds (Brandon Ingram, Jayson Tatum, Ja Morant, etc.), and even some guys we think you should stay away from (ranging from Kyrie Irving to Anthony Edwards to the entire Hornets team, including Gordon Hayward). In order, our conversation took us through the following topics:

- Re-cap of different draft types and intro to strategy

- Building your team around stars vs. well-rounded, punting categories, positional tiers, and other basic strategies

- Our sleepers, break-out players, and stay-aways

- Getting distracted and talking about the Chicago Bulls

- Our top 10-12 options for this season

- Dissing Vince and the Hornets

- Outro and how to access our ultimate fantasy basketball dynasty toolkit

And much more!

Our top 12 fantasy basketball options for 9-category leagues in the 2020-21 NBA Fantasy Season (not in any strict order):

  1. James Harden
  2. Anthony Davis
  3. Luka Doncic
  4. Giannis Antetokounmpo
  5. Damian Lillard
  6. Nikola Jokic
  7. Stephen Curry
  8. LeBron James
  9. Kevin Durant
  10. Devin Booker
  11. Karl-Anthony Towns
  12. Trae Young

The NBA Draft: Edwards, Wiseman, Ball + MORE (FSFP #020)

In this episode, we look forward to the NBA Draft by prospecting the different players, both collegiate and international, that are projected to be drafted in this year's lottery + beyond. We talk through the prospective top 3 - Anthony Edwards, James Wiseman, and LaMelo Ball - plus some of our favorites out of this year's draft class, including Killian Hayes, Deni Avdija, Onyeka Okongwu (007), Obi Toppin, and Patrick Williams. Mike gives us our daily dose of sleepers (if you're impatient and want to know now, he's loving Devin Vassell, R.J. Hampton, and Jaden McDaniels), and we each put out our own personal top 5 rookies going into the draft, as well as our thoughts on who the Detroit Pistons, our home team, should take.

If you want to learn more about the next class of NBA rookies and the future superstars of our league, this episode is a must-listen. We debate, inform, and talk up most of the players in the draft - check it out and let us know if we got it wrong or right!

TOP 12 FANTASY SFs 2020-21 (FSFP #019)

TOP 12 FANTASY SFs 2020-21 (FSFP #019)

In this episode, we continue to talk through our top 25 fantasy basketball small forwards for the 2020-21 NBA season. These are some of the most fun players to talk about, and we debate (actually, there was a lot more agreement than normal on this one) about the placement and fantasy value of:

12. TJ Warren

11. Andrew Wiggins

10. Tobias Harris

9. Kelly Oubre

8. Jonathan Isaac

7. Khris Middleton

Everyone had an opinion on every guy on this list - almost all of them were someone's near favorite or near least favorite small forward in the league - and this conversation was a ton of fun for us! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

TOP 20 FANTASY SFs 2020-21 (FSFP #018)

TOP 20 FANTASY SFs 2020-21 (FSFP #018)

Ok, first thing's first - if you are Tony Snell, Cameron Johnson, or Doc Rivers, do not click on this episode. You will leave upset. If you're anyone else, join us for this installment of our rankings series, where we analyze and debate who the best small forwards will be for the 2020-21 season. Mike's voice is dead for this one (if you're wondering why he sounds like Nick Saban), but that doesn't stop us from putting him on the ropes with some of his hottest takes. We get through a lot of great players here, and had a lot of fun with this one - we hope you enjoy it too!

18. OG Anunoby

17. Duncan Robinson

16. Bojan Bogdanovic

15. Gordon Hayward

14. Danilo Gallinari

Halloween Special: Trick or Treat, Creepiest NBA Mascots, and The Graveyard (FSFP #017)

Timestamps:
The Graveyard - 2:07
Creepiest/Scariest NBA Mascots - 12:14
Trick or Treat - 26:18

Welcome to the inaugural Halloween edition (and definitely my favorite episode so far) of the podcast! Fair warning: This is probably the least amount of actual content we've ever put into an episode. Led by our emcee Poltergeist P, we joked around about NBA mascots (don't look at a picture of Slamson the Lion after 9:00 pm), searched through the graveyard for players in need of a career revival, and trick or treated with some of our favorite, and least favorite, NBA players. As the episode progresses and we get more and more slap-happy, our conversation gets funnier and the digs at certain teams and players (sorry in advance Collin Sexton) get more personal. This is definitely one you're not going to want to miss out on!

The NBA Playoffs: Fantasy Implications, Playoff Nuggets, and Dort Dolla (FSFP #012)

The NBA Playoffs: Fantasy Implications, Playoff Nuggets, and Dort Dolla (FSFP #012)

Historic upsets, front office changes, and superstar busts have defined the NBA playoff storylines thus far. In this episode of the Flashy Stats Fantasy Podcast, we explore these topics, and many more, in the context of fantasy implications. We take our obligatory cracks at Pandemic P, hype up Daddy Conley a bit, and believe it or not, Mike says something positive about the Sixers. And we did it all while maintaining relatively undistracted. Enjoy!

TOP 20 FANTASY SGs 2020-21, Part 1 (FSFP #011)

TOP 20 FANTASY SGs 2020-21, Part 1 (FSFP #011)

In this episode, we learned a lot of new things. Number 1, we get distracted easily. Number 2, NEVER Google Evan Fournier's last name (you'll see). And number 3, Mike may secretly be a Knicks fan. Today's discussion brings us through the 15th spot in our top 20 list of fantasy shooting guards for next season, and in my opinion, this is our funniest - and I cannot stress enough, most distracted - episode yet!

11. CJ McCollum
12. Jaylen Brown
13. Buddy Hield
14. Lou Williams
15. Evan Fournier

The NBA Bubble: Surprises, Drama, and... Gary Trent Jr.? (FSFP #010)

The NBA Bubble: Surprises, Drama, and... Gary Trent Jr.? (FSFP #010)

Bear with us here... we decided on an unstructured episode this time. We talked about the NBA bubble today (well, a few days ago, but besides predictions that the Spurs were making the playoffs, same thing). The re-start has been full of shocks, surprises, and beef between players on the court and on Twitter. Today, we went through some of the players we've had our eyes on, some of the teams that we've been having fun watching, and how we think these past 8 games will impact fantasy leagues for next season. We get in jabs at each other and some of the lesser-performing teams, and generally goof off for 45 minutes.
