Hi.  So we are going on break for the remainder of August! Exciting! And maybe a little sad. But we’re due for a breather and we’ve gotta take some time to recalibrate. We’ll be back in September with the new hotness, a slew of updates and new additions to the madness.  

With all that said, this week Sam and Darien talk about the recent loss of the legendary Nichelle Nichols, Star Trek, its message of hope, and platforms taking the time to address the shittiness of their predecessors.  We’re staving off  the crushing weight of reality and we’re all doing it together.  See yah in a few weeks. - Darien & Sam.

We’re back on our bullshit at the Food for Worms Podcast and this week we’ve dragged our favorite Norine down into the pits with us.  This week we discuss Darien getting checked for mansplaining, and dive into our astrological signs.  Do we think ours align? Our experiences with the interpretations of the stars in our lives, and if the reputable spaces we’ve held dear are really up to snuff.  Welcome back to the party.

The first rule of Fight Club is to: HAVE FUN AND BE YOURSELF!  We’re back!  This week we have a surprisingly long conversation about Adam Sandler, and offer some recommendations on the shows we are watching right now.  And we have a mini follow up on our conversation about Clout, and how at some point the partying got out of hand, but it wasn’t all bad.  And that’s important to remember.  This three day weekend doesn’t count.

It’s a nebulous topic, and it takes on many forms for innumerable reasons, but this week we are talking about “clout”. It’s a wide-ranging conversation about the power of popularity.  The ways it’s earned, the ways it can be abused, and how mindfulness of your words and actions when those power dynamics are in play is always the bees actual knees.

Lacey Hunt, dear friend, cat mom, very real witch and future Death Walker joins Darien & Sam for a light hearted conversation about her new path into the very real, and apparently lowkey field of becoming a Death Doula (Lacey and FFW advocate for and prefer ‘Death Walker’). It is Darien's Birthday week and he's living it up in the big city. So, we gave him the week off and we are graced with the presence of our dear, Cody. The boys get into the movies they have been watching lately. War movie marathons. Billy Madison's horny principal. Whoopi Goldberg's lack of eyebrows. Cody and Sam then reminisce and try to remember where and when they first met and the dynamic that their long friendship has turned into.

You ever eat bugs for attention? Do you pee in the pool? What scared you as a kid? And would you rather? Come with us on this journey of the extreme and maybe learn something about your random-ass self... We try. P.S. Darien isn't dead.

It is a dark time for the Rebellion. Although the Death Star has been destroyed, Imperial troops have driven the Rebel forces from their hidden base and pursued them across the galax-wait! Shit!  ...on this week’s Food For Worms Podcast, Darien is moving to NYC to finally fulfil his dreams of joining a sewing circle with a bunch of mid-twenty-to-thirty-something hipsters in Brooklyn.  He’s not leaving the pod, just changing his scenery for a bit.  This was recorded in the in-between moments of packing for Darien, so if you listen closely you can hear how tired he is.  These boys talk about the move, how it was communicated and what they hope to do moving forward and Darien shares a little of why he wants to leave the great lakes for a bit. This was also recorded while the air quality was at its worst ever in Minneapolis, and the boys discuss their concerns of the “out of sight, out of mind” mentality they feel themselves and others seem to live comfortably with until the forest fire is knocking at our door.  It gets sappy, serious and ends on a sweet note this week.
