Here we are with Courtney Cloud, licensed music industry attorney and artist manager. She grew up playing clarinet and with my dad playing music. She always knew she wanted to do something in music, but she tried a few different avenues.
She started in music education, then business, then law, and then she interned with a music publisher and the rest is history. Currently, Courtney is the Director of Copyright, A&R at TRO Essex Music Group which is a music publisher. Courtney also started my own management firm called Arioso Cloud Management.
She's been working in music publishing for a little over six years. She worked in law (real estate, landlord/tenant, trademark, and copyright law) for 2 years. Courtney went to Louisiana Tech for a business degree and then got my JD from Loyola College of Law New Orleans. Now she's a licensed lawyer in New Jersey. She handles all rights, agreements, metadata and sometimes royalties for our songwriters under copyright. Here she is going to share on the episode what it is like working in a lot of the different fields in the business and growing up in Louisiana. She will wrap up the episode with some exciting news in her artist management career.

Here we are with a good friend of mine who I met when I took a film summer class in California as part of a humanities core requirement for my Tulane diploma. I had the pleasure of meeting a great friend Kristen Case. She studied film at Cal Lutheran and minored in dance and now is working as a freelancer in the film business doing many different gigs. She is very creative, driven, motivated, and passionate about the film industry. We will get to learn all about her day-to-day and what it is like working as a freelancer covering those crazy 5 AM shifts and sometimes also getting those good gigs too. We have Professor Lindsay Adler here on this week's episode. She was my professor when I took two music industry courses over at Loyola University in New Orleans. She works in the marketing space and has had a plethora of music industry experience working in the live events marketing space. Here is a New Orleanian with us, Marigny Hemenway. She has a plethora of different paths within the music industry. She is going to school full-time at Berklee College of Music and graduating in May of 2023 with a bachelor's in music business. She is also a singer-songwriter working with a local New Orleans band called Marigny and The Vital Signs. She is the marketing and public relations associate for the New Orleans Jazz Museum.
