We're excited to be working with the Glasgow Science Centre on this series to expand your knowledge about Scotland's dark skies and how to get out and explore them this winter.

In this first episode, we're going to be looking at the basics: what to look for and how to find it in the night sky.

This week on Future Forest we are learning all about riparian zones! 

These are areas around rivers and burns, and are key habitats for a range of species such as salmon and osprey. These areas can also help with climate change adaptation, fish populations, and tourism. 

Tune in as we speak to FLS staff to learn more about riparian zones and how we are restoring these important habitats along iconic Scottish rivers. 

Climate adaptation, natural capital, and resilient forests are things we often talk about at FLS, but what do they mean? And how are we using them alongside biodiversity to help Scotland adapt to the climate challenge?

In this episode, we are talking with our Resilience Manager, Alan Gale, about how we're using science to make our forests more resilient in the face of the climate emergency and biodiversity crisis. 

We're also going to look at some of the main concerns facing Scotland's forests and explain some of these key terms around how we are reimaging land in a way that helps create stronger and more adaptable forests.
