That´s right, my guy, we´re back! 

The 4th season of Frothland kicks off with a Guestipode.

I am joined by the one and only Josey Weik as he takes off his viking helmet and puts on the giant cheese hat on the road from Minnesota to Wisconsin. This wonderful young man is more than the seductive mustache and hair that looks like it came straight out of an ad for organic shampoo. We met on PubG mobile back in 2018, he was in the top 300 players in North America at the time and I was... Well, I was not.

That somehow turned into a friendship and I am so happy to be able to share part of the never ending conversation we started back then.

Josey is a professional cyclist racing road, mountain biking, and cyclocross. Riding bike has allowed Josey to travel to far away places like Canada, Belgium, Germany, France, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Scotland, and Spain (and counting ...).

That´s also why he is driving around with a giant cheese hat on his head rn, our boi is about to show some cyclists how it´s done.

He is also a farm boi like me and grew up on the family farm, raised and homeschooled by two college dropouts, watering cows and hugging the pigs.

This has been in the making since last year, and we finally made it happen, it was not easy, sacrifices were made and bystanders were occassionally sightly offended, but we made it.

2 years ago, Chris was done working for the man and he left his promising career in the Telecom Industry in L.A, California to pursue his dreams and found his own cooperation after they reduced his hours because he refused to take unpaid breaks and insisted on working instead.

He also left behind his loving and graceful mother, but it was not a good bye, it was a hasta la vista, baby.

Destination? Salem, Oregon, where he lives now with his older grandmother, currently the only special of the place.

In this guestipode we get to know more about this man, his creative process involving putrid, stale and sticky alphabet soup, he shares a terrifying lucid nightmare he had last night and we try to work out what it could mean. Through Chris, we also learn about the SPANKY CONSPIRACY and more.

I got the NRC, Nike Run Club, app for my phone after reading about how people claimed to benefit, especially from the guided running sessions. In these sessions, professional running coaches like Bennett here, talks to the runner during the run. The idea is to help the runner maintain the proper form, cadence, pace and motivation to remain consistent and reach their goal. Sounds great, huh?

Well, At first, the app bugged out when trying to download these guided runs, so I ended up just using the «just start running» feature, similar to the 5K running app I’d used on my android device, this just features a pleasant female or male voice intermittently telling you about distance travelled, average pace and time left. This worked just fine, my Huawei watch can do the same thing though. Then finally this morning the guided runs had downloaded, I went with Coach Bennett´s 30 min relaxed run in the «mindfullness» series and that’s when everything just went to popp central.

The audio level of his voice was insanely loud and there was no way to turn it down. He went on and on about how «not being ok» was ok and I just couldn’t… there was no way of turning it off or lowering his volume. Add to that his voice reappearing when I ended the run talking about how it was ok, that at least I tried… I ended the run and started over with «my first 20min run». I was a bit crunched on time because I was scheduled as a guest on Sammy´s Saga - the comedy podcast at 4:30AM this morning, this meant getting up at 3:30AM to run. Same thing happened second time around. I ended up starting a «just run» and headed back home.

Ever wondered what dreams are made of?

Sometimes, I think it´s just paper.

27.9 seconds.

Back in 2012 Takuo Toda, guessing he´s japanese, he threw his paperplane and it stayed in the air for 27.9 seconds. That´s the world record still, longest air time for a paperplane. So far.

I don´t know much.

Much about anything really.

I know you can´t beat world records with paperplanes in the rain.

I know you cant fold paperplanes out of wet paper.

I know you´d have to fold and fly the paperplane like inside, somewhere dry and kind of spacious.

If it's raining.

It never rains in outer space.

One day there might just be a paperplane in space, in fact, the same Takuo Toda along with a professor at Tokyo university, came close to actually doing that. Launching a paperplane from the international spacestation. Years later another group of people sent a paper plane from Germany to Australia.

This episode is dedicated to Louis Austad,  a loving father, grandfather, husband, dedicated dog owner and caring friend, passed away just after thanksgiving this year. 

He was also the President of the North American division of the Global Shirtless Men Association.

(that's why we have our nipples out)

His message was:

Lou and I, we weren't terribly close, but whenever we spoke or interacted in various ways, I always felt like I was welcomed into a warm cabin or something, that I had forgotten how cold it was out there. You know? Lou was a man from an other time, sometimes watching his videos I felt like I was watching a very enthusiastic time traveler in a way.

He lived to be 60.  I met him through the social media platform, BEME, years ago and we kept in touch for many years, through collaborations on YouTube, an ongoing conversation on Twitter and he was always kind, always caring, always supporting. Even though we might have had different opinions and beliefs, we never had a problem getting along. We had lost touch, but got back in touch a earlier this fall, when he was in the hospital. His last words to me was to tell my daughter Amina, that he sends her his love. 

I my heart and thoughts goes out to his wife Tammy, his sons and daughter in laws, his grandchildren and his dog, Snoop Doggy Dogg. 

I also think of those who were closer to Lou than I was.

Especially Roadside Rick who was the one to break the news.

Rick used to travel through the US, living in is car and vlogging his experience. At one point he lost his grandfather and after putting the house in order he hit the road again. I imagine it wasn't the same. Then his car broke down. He thought of giving up. And out of the blue came Lou, with $500, enough to fix the car up, get Rick back on the road and down to California where Lou and Tammy were waiting with arms and doors open.

Lou pimped his ride, they shared meals, went on road trips and made videos together.

I am sorry for your loss, my guys, I am happy you had these moments together. 

I am grateful you shared some of those moments so I could see experience some of it as well, through YouTube.

In this turduckening of a GUESTIPODE we cover some serious ground, from the Antarctic, the mysterious Bouvet Island, New Zealand, Norway, The viciousness and callousness of the female penguins, the terrifying elephant seals, possible solutions to NZ periodical water shortage, we dive in to the mysterious and intriguing, for most people, well hidden past of Mr. Sing as an undercover investigative journalist for the NZ Herald (at one point he succeeded in infiltrating the Australian division of the Ku Klux Klan, reaching the very top of the organisation presumably due to a poorly timed investment in a white latex bed sheet operation (or not), He shares the story of the time he chased down a rampant driver and quite possibly a gang member, while riding his pushbike to work. I hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving, if that's something you celebrate, odds are about 60% of you do.

If you celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you had a moist turducken and a big smile on your face.

Even if you don't I hope you are aware of the people and the things you are grateful for, all the good stuff, but not just the stuff.

It's getting colder over here, frost covered trees and crunchy leafs on the ground, air feels cleaner.

Still no snow, I'm still grateful for winter, though.

So grateful in fact, 

I got lost in the woods today, on purpose. 

I´m grateful that I made it back home.

It's been 6 weeks since I've posted an episode on here, but that doesn't mean I haven't been working on the podcast.

Happy birthday my guy

This could be about 70k+ new cases of covid 19 per day in India

It could be about Jake Blake being shot 7 times in the back in front of his three children, by the cops in Kenosha, Wisconsin

It could be about Kyle Rittenhouse and wether he acted in self defence or not

It could be about Norwegian police using pepperspray, teargas and physical violence on minors protesting against islamophobic protestors in Bergen, Norway, 

It could be about a lot of stuff.

But, before all that, let's just take a minute to look at ourselves, who we are and what we do, before we start pointing fingers and assigning lables, before we tell someone else's story, let's just take a minute to breathe,  bc that's apparently a privilege these days and look at ourselves, where we are, what we want the world to be and then listen to whatever everyone else is on about. Just for a minute, or 58 or whatever, I'm bad with numbers, let's just put our differences aside and go to Frothland. Let's just take a break to figure out where we want to go, you know? just look on this map together for once, bc, we're all on the same planet and even though we look different, let's just put that aside, bc we're still all here, even though we have different oppinions, let's just put that aside bc we all have those for whatever reason, but we're still here, all of us, on the same planet, your problems, my problems, that's just that, problems, your opinion, my opinion, is just that, opinion, and until we put our apparent differences, our gotten oppinions aside, we can't really figure out which problem to solve first. can we? I don't care who you are, what you did, where you're from, what you look like, how you feel or what your opinions are. If we're going to solve any problems, we need to know ourselves enough to put our own opinions and leniances aside for just a little while to figure out if we want to go up or down the waterslide, and in my humble opinion, let individuals decide if they want the plungers up their asses or not. How about we find a way, to put at least enough differences aside so that we at least can identify mutual hate or want? How about we just take a little while to at least try to find some common ground, even before that, just try to understand where we are respectally coming from and do so with respect, before we figure out with whom and where we think is best to go. We all still have choices, for now and nobody really needs toilet paper. That said, if you listened to this podcast, if you read all of this, I don't care who you are, in some respect, by someone, at least one, that being me, you Sir or Mam or whatever, you have legendary status in at least one book.
