Understanding Hypertension with Dr Jay Shah

In this episode of Your Health Transformed we have the guest speaker Dr Jay Shah who is a cardiologist and also chief medical officer at Aktiia. The main topic that he talks about in this podcast is “Hypertension” since it’s a huge issue all around the world, He starts by giving us an overview of his company. He explains how most people do not pay attention to their blood pressure as they think it’s common and not something that they should worry about and this leads misunderstanding leads them to worst conditions. Even after having the best treatment available yet only one in five percent of people have their blood pressure in control. Further, he explains in detail on how to take a proper blood pressure test. What conditions need to be followed etc? He states that Aktiia is a technology software that is based on optical signals that sit on the wrist and give accurate blood pressure readings almost like a watch. He puts forward facts that are being faced by physicians and patients in the current world. The most mind-blowing fact that he talks about is how only 50% of people are actually salt sensitive regarding blood pressure. He finally concludes by stating that the main aim of his company is to “Empower patients and make them independent of everything and give expert knowledge and be available to everyone”.

The Truths and Myths about Obesity

In this episode of doctor vision, I talked about obesity, what the journey to that path looks like. I speak through insights that most people have the goal of losing weight at the start of the year, which mostly does not work for everyone and gets stressed over it. I explain how this is not because of weak willpower, exercise etc. but because of the brain and the obesogenic environment we live in. Talks about how the American Diet is the worst diet. I also explain how genes and exercise are responsible for weight gain and fixing the brain problem of bad habits before any surgery or diet to make it work. Therefore, I conclude by stating “Do something you can do forever or don’t do it” and “It is not you, but the brain so don’t blame yourself”.

In this episode of Your Health Transformed our guest speaker Catie Harris , the founder of Nurse Preneur. We talked about Healthcare in general like where it is at and mainly nurse burnout.

She explains how she got into being the founder of Nurse Preneur . She Explains how first she did not recognize that she was facing a nurse burnout after being a nurse for 20 years. She explains how she got to a point where she stopped growing, how all of it was exciting in the start and then got difficult. She explains and tells all the signs and symptoms of a burnout. How this burnout leads to depression, anxiety and anger management issues.Furthershe puts light on how she got out of it and it can help other nurses too. Lastly she tells how and what she did to change and start her business , how to deal with difficulties and concludes by stating, “ Everyone wants a nurse but do not spend much on entertaining them”.

In this episode, we have Dr Patrick Vicker who has been a Chiropractor for over 25 years, for which he developed passion since he was just 11 years old. He tells about the genius Dr Gerson who was the first to create a reversing treatment for advanced terminal cancer and many other chronic and terminal diseases. He explained how this led him to become a masked man in order to protect his license, reputation and integrity. He talks on Dr Genson therapy how solely it is just based on dietary plan. It can be cured with the simple intake of organic food and banning salt, animal products and using only flax oil. He explains the benefits why flax oil is the best and how it works in our body to remove cholesterol. Further he explains how even though evolution takes place in 100 years; how cancer evolves in just a few years and therefore puts light on how the environment is the cause for it. He concludes by saying “When we are inside the Laws of Nature, it protects us”.

Labels can be useful in the sense that they help people discover their characteristics. In a world with billions of people, it is a life goal for each to individualize themselves and to understand who they are.

However, when these characteristics, which are turned into labels and become stereotypes, begin to completely define who one is as a person especially with your medical problems , they become destructive to one’s sense of self. No one is ever one word. Each individual develops, grows and changes with time.
