Frankly with Faith

The hubby, Steve, joins me and we share a major update on our living situation. After the stress of all of that, we have some drinks and have some fun playing the newlywed game at our temporary new home.   

Introducing a new segment I like to call Say What!? I'll be sharing weird news stories from around the world. Some Creepy, some outrageous, and some will blow your mind... 

The past few months have flown by and they have been a whirlwind to say the least. We've taken trips to Bahrain and Paris and we are adjusting nicely to life in Saudi. After our jaunt in Paris we are back home in Saudi and during a very special time. This is the time of Hajj for Muslims. 

This isn't goodbye... this is I'll see you later. A quick update acknowledging my sporadic nature as of late and guess what? I'M FINALLY MOVING TO SAUDI! The show will be back August 5th. 

Here's an update for you.... I will be moving this month to join Steve in Saudi. It's finally happening. There are so many little last minute things to do. My anxiety is getting the best of me.  Am I excited? You bet your ass I am! Am I nervous? That's an understatement!

So a lot has happened since the last episode… STEPHEN IS HOME!!! This will be his last time in Houston before I move to permanently to join him in Saudi. As soon as he got in we hit the ground running with lots to do. Catch up with us and see how things are going. 

With a few drinks in me and maybe a bit tipsy, I go over what I have been trying to do for the past week. A very non professional personal inventory of myself. With this impending major move to another country and with some recent slights and hurts I’ve encountered, I thought it might be healthy to check in with me. Now, I’m not a therapist, but one of the things I’ve learned in therapy is it can be beneficial to take the time to recognize, acknowledge and process present feelings and past experiences. I think what ideally happens is you begin to uncover, understand, and assess the story we tell ourselves about ourselves and the version of ourselves we present to others.

How do you feel about etiquette and manners in 2019? Do you feel like manners are a distant thought compared to years past? Do you think manners and etiquette have any bearing on how we treat one another now? I believe manners and etiquette go hand in hand and that they have evolved from what was in past decades. Respect, kindness, and consideration form the basis of good manners. Etiquette becomes the language of manners.

 Would you spend money on a luxury brand? Chanel Fendi Gucci Prada! High end luxury retail. On this episode we have special guest Rolan - Production Assistant, Event Producer, lover of fashion and high end retail expert, giving us a behind the scenes look at Christian Louboutin. We discuss the latest trends and we have a spirited conversation around recent fashion PR nightmares due to what some call racially insensitive clothing. 

I want to get a little personal with you this episode. So before we get down to the nitty gritty I just want to say WARNING! PARENTAL DISCRETION IS ADVISED. So if you are not 18 and up, instead of tuning in… you need to tune out. Now, let’s get down to business. SEX! ROMANCE! But mostly sex. We all gotta have it and want more of it. I have always been very open and vocal about sex. My likes, dislikes, toys, and lingerie but how is your sex life? Do you struggle with creating romantic moments? Is sex always just the same old thing. On this episode we are going to explore ways to spark romance and spice up sex!

 With Black History Month, we celebrate the contributions and sacrifices made by African Americans. We acknowledge and honor the past: The pain and struggle endured by so many so that future generations could live freely and just.  As February comes to a close, I find it fitting to acknowledge those who we may not readily know. Their tenacity, intellect and ambition have made our lives easier and they deserve recognition. 

Stephen has started a new position and we are moving to Saudi Arabia. He’s already living and working in Saudi and soon I will be joining him. I am always wanting updates from him on what it is like and what I can expect. Steve joins the episode to share what his experience has been like: moving, living and working abroad. Have you ever lived abroad as an expat? An expat or expatriate is someone who lives outside their native country. This is the transition we are currently going through. And while I’m holding down the fort in the states and wrapping things up, I am also doing lots of research to prepare myself for this next chapter.You know, doing my homework so I am as mentally prepared as possible. I am excited for this adventure and I can’t wait to experience everything Saudi has to offer. Steve joins the episode to share what his experience has been like: moving, living and working abroad.

 In February we get the opportunity to celebrate Valentine’s Day and highlight our love for our partner. February is also a busy month for themed weddings. How important is a wedding? Should you have a wedding if you can’t afford one? A couple set up a GoFundMe to pay for the remainder of their wedding. Also, how’s your sex life? Is Valentine’s Day the one day a year you go all out sexually? Check out what’s being reported as trends in the love making department. 

 Family time is important and it nourishes my soul. I value the time I get to spend with my brothers. Sometimes I even feel like a kid again. My brother Tim was able to come down for a visit before I move to Saudi. What better way to spend family time together than watching a movie. We decided to watch Bird Box. This was his first time watching it and it was my second. His breakdown of the movie and the connection in themes was unlike anything I heard being shared about the movie. What is a meet cute? A meet cute is a scene in which the two people who will form a future romantic couple meet for the first time. For Steve and I, we met on Eharmony and our first date had a twist but was still very endearing. I knew I loved him after our first international trip together.
