The Great Commission
All four of the Gospels and the book of Acts repeat the Great Commission. Each one emphasizes a different aspect of it and by looking at each we gain more understanding of the whole. This message briefly deals with each aspect shown in the 5 respective texts as well as gives a brief breakdown of each passage. Listen and see what is so great about the Great Commission.
He's Able
Evangelist Dan Knickerbocker spoke for our Sunday Services. He shows from the Scriptures how we are to Trust God because He is able to take care of Christians.
Excelling Righteousness
Jesus tells us that external shows of righteousness are insufficient to gain the favor of God. He tells us we must have righteousness that excels that of others. With 6 different examples, he deals with how we should live with a standard far above the religious leaders of that day.
Christ and the Law
Many people do not have a clear understanding of the law and how it relates to Christians. Jesus explains His relationship with the law in the sermon on the mount. By comparing the relationship we have with Christ and His relationship with the law, we can see the use of the law in the New Testament.
Holding Forth the Truth
What are we supposed to be doing in our Church life? The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 3:15,16. When we understand the nature of the New Testament church and our place in it, we will find the blessings and growth so many are searching for.
Dealing with Despair
How should the Christian deal with despair? In Luke 24 we find two of the disciples dealing with the despair of having watched Jesus being crucified. They did not suspect that Jesus would approach them and confront their despair. See how Jesus straightened out his disciples, so we can get our own minds and hearts in the right place.
Knowing Jesus
Philippians 3:7-10 teaches that knowing Jesus is the believers' greatest treasure. Nothing in this life compares to it.
When Foundations are Destroyed
Regardless of who is to blame, many foundational realities have changed in America. What are Christians to do as the things we trust are destroyed? The Bible contains the answers through the example of King David who faced confusing and uncertain times in his own life. Psalm 11 gives us his testimony of how he faced the destruction of the foundations of his life.
Victory in Hardships
How can we have victory over the difficult situations we are facing. God's word gives the answers. Paul describes a Hardship he was facing and how God gave him the victory over it. Our text 2 Corinthians 12:7-12.
